Third person's pov

BLOOD MOON PACK (Royal graveyard)

The chamber beneath the pack's ancestral grounds was never meant for living wolves.

It was carved deep into stone and silver, built long before Kallum's father or his father ever thought of wearing the Alpha's crest.

The air smelled of silver and damp earth, no one expected grave soil to smell any better.

Five witches stood with torches, it was against their will to perform black magic but with Kallum as Alpha of more than ten packs, they had no choice but to obey.

Fear of being attacked by wolves.

His wolves.

The night was cold but Kallum was shirtless, he was prepared for the ritual.

Symbols were drawn on his body, patterns across his chest and down his arms.

Lila lingered near the stone steps, her fingers clenching the fabric of her dress in anxiety.

She had followed him here despite his explicit command not to.

She watched him move to the center of the five witches and kneeled before them.

“This isn't necessary," she

Ayla's pov. My phone rang without any answer, I dialed again and there was suddenly no service. I paced around the living room, where Ivy and Clara sat far apart and Killian sat comfortably and nonchalantly on the couch. “I can't reach him" I turn to Ivy, also avoiding Killian's gaze. “Try again," Ivy said. Clara rose up and stretched out the phone towards me. “Or try with another number" she suggested. I took the phone and dialed his number, the call went straight to voicemail, and I streaked my hands into my hair. "He's not reachable either” I couldn't tell what might be going on in Aiden's head right now, what he was going to do with this 6. If ever I wanted him to know the truth, it wasn't like this, never like this. “Arghhh” I let out. Clara rubbed her temples. “What do you think might have happened to him?” Anxiety laced in her tone. " He's probably in a pharmacy treating his self-inflicted wound." I heard Killain’s lazy voice from the other side of the living room. I

Third person's pov Aiden didn't remember deciding to leave but then one moment he was standing in the doorway, the echo of Elara's pain still ringing in his ears, the way she flinched and the next he was in his car, hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned pale and his bleeding arm pumped more blood than before. He was happy for a moment that at least she didn't think twice before running to him but then, the scene of what he had done to her. It made his heart ache. His chest felt wrong, too tight, too loud and every breath he took scraped his lungs. The way she recoiled from him, the way her new man quickly moved between them and the way Elara looked at his blood like it was a weapon. Thought it was what he had come to confirm. This was the truth and the truth lingered in his brain before settling into his thoughts. If his blood burned Elara like that then it could only mean one thing. She wasn't human and there was some truth in what his mot

Ayla's pov It had been minutes since Aiden left. He didn't turn on the bedroom lights, only pulled the drapes low enough so the light from outside seeped in. I tried not to focus on anything other than the act of being perfectly still. I took deep breaths, letting my grip rest on the edge of the bed. My bare feet pressed against the cold tiles as I curled my fingers around the edge each time the wound stinged. Killian hadn't said a word since Aiden left, he only brought the first aid box, crouched beside me and used the wool and antiseptic to dab at my affected skin. He cleaned it and rinsed it a couple of times before finally dressing it with a bandage, he focused on how perfectly the band was supposed to wrap around my hand and when I winced he paused and started wrapping it all over again. “Are you mad at me?” I asked in a low voice. He cut off the excess bandage on the wound, before he said finally. “That you threw yourself without thinking to save him?” he forced a smile

Ayla's pov Taking the stairs, I felt relieved that Killian was in the shower now because now, I was sure I knew who was at the door. I knew that scent anywhere and of course the fact that I was expecting him a few moments from now. I wrapped my robes tighter as I made my way towards the front door. Placing my hand on the door knob, determined to make this interaction quick. “Aiden." I said as I opened the door to find him casually dressed in jeans and a round necked shirt. Very rare of him. He turned to me, his expression blank. "Elara.” He said as well and for a few seconds we stood staring at each other until he cleared his throat. “Am I allowed in?" I wasn't so sure but I pushed the door farther apart as an invitation.“Yeah, sure" He did tell Clara he just wanted to see me and hopefully I would get him out before Killian comes out. Aiden took long steps into the house, I watched his eyes and how he scanned everything and everywhere, I couldn't remember the last time h

Ayla's pov I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, applying some moisturizer on my face as I pressed my cell phone in-between my shoulder and my ear. I was wearing a lace panty and bra after I had used an hour to shower. “Yeah I understand" I said to the phone for the third time, it was hard to figure out what to say when everything sounded so overwhelming.I put down the moisturizer as I listened to Clara as she went on about the office and the fact that she had seen Aiden some days ago. She described Aiden as weary and unkept. In short term. He wasn't himself at all. But he was looking for me. Requesting to see me and didn't mind if we didn't talk. I understood if he hadn't moved on, I couldn't deny that he loved me but now I don't know why I felt it was more than this. More than just our breakup. I waved off the thoughts and said. “Sooo. You sure you and Ivy don't want to come back here?” I easily shifted from the conversation. “And be disgusted by both you and Killian”

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Eighty: Resist

Third person's pov Ivy had promised not to lie again to Clara but each time they needed their space and time alone from Ayla and her mate, she could get help but steal another house from a charming young man. But now they were in the library. Ivy moved around the desk, she wiped the shelves while Clara carried around some books around, they both arranged the library before flipping the card and hanging the door to identify it was open. Ivy was strong, resilient and organized. She wouldn't have agreed to his, to Ayla's plan to be unprepared, in fact she secretly used this to buy time before she could get involved in another trance. Being idle or pretending she wasn't alive to contain the dark force wasn't her thing. Ivy stood in front of one of the shelves, right opposite both the door and the desk that Clara now stood behind. She glanced at Clara and how keen she seemed to be as she wiped the desk. “It's nice to have you here.” Ivy said as she arranged some first editi
