Third person's pov

The guest room smelled of limestone and smoke.

Ivy wiped her hands on a cloth already stained dark with drying blood and let out a slow and steady breath. The candles were set and the circle redrawn.

Everything was ready again.

Clara sat on the edge of the bed this time, quieter than before, she watched Ivy's movements with an intensity that gave off the vibe of someone trying very hard not to panic.

She wondered how, when and why.

Wolves and witches.

She only read those in books.

She read once

And then

She was sure it was tagged as fanfic. Taking it as all it ever was, till now.

Ivy turned to her and looked away, trying to figure out what to say, after preparing the circle. She straightened up.

“I'm sorry Clara"

Clara looked up, back from her thoughts. “For what?"

“For keeping you in the dark, for lying" she replied without looking at her “for letting you like me without letting you know what doing that would cost you"

Clara looked down at her feet

Ayla's pov I woke to the feeling cold concrete against my skin and the taste of blood in my mouth. My eyes opened slowly, breath tearing out of my lungs as pain lingered all around my body. I met the ceiling, it was high and broken, flickering light buzzed overhead casting long distorted shadows across the wide abandoned warehouse. For a heart beat I didn't remember how I got here. And then I did. “Killian" I rasped. My head snapped to the side and I could see his figure. I could feel him, faintly. He was there. Tied to a thick metal pillar near the center of the warehouse, his wrists bound above his head with chains etched in runes that made my skin burn just looking at them. His head hung low and his chest rose shallowly. Just like in my vision. "No,” she whispered, scrambling upright. My body screamed in protest but I ignored it, pushing myself off the ground and staggering towards him. Every step felt like gravity was heavier here. “Killian," I said again, louder now

Third person's pov The house was too quiet. Aiden sat at the long expensive wooden dining table, one hand curled loosely around a glass of amber liquid he hadn't bothered to identify before pouring it into his glass. Tons of thoughts ran through his head but he didn't want to settle on any of them. He hadn't turned on many lights, just one above the stove that casted a dim glow that didn't quite reach where he sat but he could see the clock. Three in the morning. He shouldn't be here nor in this house, nor in this town and yet, here he was. This wasn't a place he ever visited, not really. His mother's house existed only on the rough edge of his life. A destination he only likes to reach with deliveries, polite phone calls and other son obligations. He did send groceries, money and gifts but he never sent himself. But what was happening to him, he gave it a thought that it wouldn't hurt much to figure it out somewhere else. He stared into the glass, watching the drink dance as

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Sixty Eight: Scarred Witch

Killian's povThe first thing I felt was cold. The worst part was I inhaled the air and it smelt nothing like home. There wasn't this familiar scent of takeouts Clara used to bring in and laundry scent coming from Ivy's room. Then most importantly. There wasn't that honey scent of Ayla. That was when I realized what had happened. That I had been captured by my brother's minion.I felt a chill that seeped into my bone, bringing me back to consciousness. My eyes opened slowly as the first thing I physically felt was restraint. My wrists were bound above my head, arms stretched until my shoulders burned and my ankles were chained as well, spread apart enough to keep me off balance. The metal bit into my skin, humming faintly, as if alive. Then I opened my eyes fully. The place I was in was ruin dressed up as a sanctuary. An abandoned structure that I couldn't quite make out where it was.It looked like a hall or maybe a warehouse. That was long and forgotten. The ceiling arched high

Sixty seven The silence after my confession stretched longer than it should, longer than the time I had to waste. Clara's shoulder relaxed slowly, like she was no longer trusting herself to sit upright. Her fingers twisted making her knuckles flex white and pink again.I watched her stare at the floor, exhaling sharply before she lifted her eyes towards me.“A wolf," she said again, quietly. It wasn't accusingly or mocking, it was just as if she was testing the word.“You're telling me you're an actual wolf?" She asked again.“You saw it" I tell her Her expression relaxed. “I did" safe paused “I actually fucking did" I couldn't say anything, I couldn't. "So what am I supposed to ask now? Who are you? Are you even real? What else have you been lying about Elara” I met her gaze. “I am real I guess…. My name is actually Ayla" Clara leaned back on the chair, she allowed silence to implode between us. " How long?” "All my life.” "All this time,” she muttered. Not staring at me d

  • The Broken Luna, Reborn    Chapter Sixty Six: "I'm a wolf"

Third person's pov The room was quiet. Both rooms.Clara sat on the edge of the guest bed, her hands clenched tightly on her lap. Her knuckles were pale and her back was stiff. Her eyes stared straight ahead, unfocused and glassy. Like there were traces of tears threatening to spill. She had not screamed nor ran. Shock had stolen even that from her. Moments ago, maybe hours or minutes, she couldn't tell. There was a wolf in the living room. Not a story book wolf, not a costume, nor some visual effect or some hallucination. It was a wolf.Massive. Glowing-eyes, alive with power that made her knees buckled and her blood turn cold. And that wolf had been Ayla. Her Ayla. And Ivy? Ivy was beside a circle of candles. Chanting words she couldn't understand. The door behind her creaked softly and her thoughts were disrupted, Ivy appeared in the doorway, her expression unreadable but calm for what had just happened. She studied Clara for a moment as if assessing the damage that ha
