Chapter 7

Thursday and Friday flew by at work. Jake and I had talked last night, but tonight I was going out with some of my co-workers after work. Jake told me he had to meet with his dad and brother before he left on Sunday, so we would be mostly unavailable tomorrow, but he promised to be responsive to text if I needed anything.

Stephanie and Katrina approached my desk. “You almost done?” Stephanie asked, taking a seat in front of my office.

I laughed. “Yeah, I am done. What about Brian and Martin?”

“They are ready. Martin said you ‘looked too serious’ to come in and ask you if you were ready, so they sent us in to check.” Katrina remarked, and we all laughed.
