Third person's POV
"Where are you going, Cassie?" Sarrah asked as she saw Cassie heading to the front door to leave."I am going to meet with some people." Cassie said and instead of the door, she went to her mother who was sitting on the wide sofa. She was drinking her morning coffee as usual."Mother, I wanted to ask you about something." She said looking at her mother and sat on the nearest sofa beside her."What is it, darling?" Sarrah put her cup on the table giving her full attention to her daughter. Something Cassie still found new. In the past, she never even glanced at her for more than two minutes."I want to know about how you met Tobias." She said what has been eating her mind the whole time. Her mother's relationship with Tobias is going to determine her next moves now."Oh darling, I was even going to talk to you about it when you return from wherever you were going to now." She said and her face changed to one of a serious one."As you know Cassie, all rich men are attracted to me. But this one, he is interested in nothing of my sort." She said, confusing Cassie with what she's saying. 'And I didn't need to know about that.' Cassie thought. She didn't know where her mother was heading to."Look darling, this guy is full of money. He can have anything he wants with just the snap of his fingers." She said while snapping her fingers across Cassie's face."You should have seen all of the things he could do. He has so much power across the country. I know you don't know him but as you saw him last night, he is the most handsome guy you could ever find too."Ok, one thing about Cassie's behavior is that she doesn't like people who run around the bush. And that is the exact thing Sarrah was doing, making it hard to contain her short temper."What do you want to tell me, mother?" She said a little bit impatient.Sarrah wanted to take her time in telling the legacy of the great Tobias. But her girl seems to be impatient. 'Maybe she's so excited about him' she thought."Darling, I think he likes you." She stopped. No, everything stopped around Cassie.'What is happening? Is she setting me up with my boss?' Cassie's mind is thinking about a whole other scenario of this situation right now. Before last night, she had everything planned out and ready for action but now, nothing is determined by her. It was getting its own twists."What are you talking about, mother?" She asked dumbfounded.Sarrah didn't get the information from the direct source, Cassie knew that much. But what kept bothering her in her mind was the direction where her mother was heading."Come on, Cassie. Didn't you feel his aura when you two met? And sure, he was generous enough to spend all of that money on yo-" "That is not the main point. What you have to know is that he likes you."Her mother's unfinished sentence didn't escape Cassie's sharp mind of course. She is attentive and from what she heard from her mother, something is happening behind her which has 'her' as the main character. She has to play tricks with her now.Sarrah wanted to elaborate more to Cassie to cover her slip of a tongue but it seemed like Cassie didn't even notice it. And that was a relief to her."Mother, did he tell you that he liked me?" Cassie asked. Her eyes shone with excitement, her teeth were in full display showing her mother how she's happy to hear the news. Her whole demeanor changed to one of those girls who get butterflies when they hear their crush's name.Sarrah couldn't get any happier with the new interest her daughter showed. She had so many things planned out for her and Tobias but Cassie's cooperation was very important to keep up with the plan. Now she has nothing to worry as her daughter from the beginning seems to be infatuated by Tobias."Oh, of course not! He isn't someone to show his feelings this easily. But I can see it from the way he looked at you, darling. He is interested in you." She said, patting Cassie's knee."But how could I be sure if he likes me?" Cassie pressed more on the matter thinking her mother would slip up again but she was disappointed when her mother answered with a simple "You can trust me with this, darling."Of course she can't trust her mother. Cassie never believed her mother even as a child. But she is going to be late for her meeting if she spends too much time on this. She left the mansion with one more thing to figure out in her to-do list. What her mother was saying when she said 'generous enough to spend money on you.'She headed to the black Mercedes AMG she bought the day before her welcoming ball. Surely she was thinking about spending much when she told Jaden about shopping the other day.She opened the door of the car and brought the car to life with her keys. It wasn't long before the cafe which Tobias told her to come came into view and she parked the car around the corner. She got out of the car and fixed her blue knee-high dress. Her wavy hair was pulled into a messy ponytail leaving some of her baby hair laying on the front of her forehead. She had a silver bracelet on her left hand and beautiful designer rings on her fingers. Her return to her hometown followed with changing her style too. And locking her car, she went to the cafe and sat on the veranda. It wasn't long before she got immersed in looking at the passers as they did their daily business. There were biscuit shops and bakeries, and people were hurrying to their work. Kids were rushing to go to school and the place was lively.Tobias is never a late person by any means it was only that she came a little early. As Cassie was wandering her eyes on the busy street, she saw the tinted windows of a van parked at the opposite corner of the cafe building. She couldn't see anything inside but she could clearly feel something about how the van was weird."May I take your orders, please?" Her thoughts got interrupted by a young waiter with a notepad in his hands and a pen ready to write down whatever she was going to order. "I am actually waiting for someone but I will have green tea until they come." She smiled kindly at the waiter and he departed with a blushed face at her tantalizing smile. She followed the waiter's stumbling steps and smiled at his reaction. "I see now you started to flirt with waiter's too?"She looked up and found Tobias sitting at the chair opposite to her.Her eyes widened at his sudden appearance, where did he come from?Tobias was furious when he found Cassie smiling at the young waiter, and he wanted to wipe off his blushing face when he looked at him. Now he is asking her what she was doing and she is staring at him like a kid who got caught stealing."Cat got your tongue?" He asked again, this time in a mocking voice breaking her trace of shock."Um… I didn't expect you to come here so suddenly.""Of course you weren't, that's why you were fooling around with everyone you found."'what? What is he talking about?' Cassie found his new behavior infuriating. He never talked to her like that. If he thinks about her like that then why bother wasting his time on her. Why not just put a bullet in her head and get over it?"If you can't get your attitude at bay, then there's no way we could communicate." She said solemnly and he was shocked. If anything Cassie knew more about Tobias than himself is that he doesn't like getting ignored. And that is what she just did. Ignore his furry. Even though she doesn't know why he got furious from the very beginning. He never got treated like that by her. If anything he was nothing more than her boss which she can't defy. But now she is showing her fierce side to him. 'Maybe I took it too far.' he thought and his anger subdued in an instant.'Why do I have to be out of control when I'm around her?'"So you weren't flirting with him?" He asked."Seriously? Tobias, you know what normal people would do? They would just have a seat informing the other person around them, say a 'good morning ' and ask whatever they want politely." She couldn't help but pour out all of what she was holding back."Who said I was normal?" He asked again, looking as her golden brown eyes turned slit with anger. He found that her face was getting red and she had her hand curled into first on the table."Well then I don't think there's any point in this meeting with an abnormal person." She said getting up from her seat to head to the door of the cafe but Tobias was quick in holding her hand firm by his hand, making her unable to walk any further. He lowered his head beside her ears and inhaled her sweet smell which made him think of all the savage ways he could have her at this moment."I like this fierce side you showed me today, baby. But you have to remember, it is turning me terribly on. And I believe you don't want me ravishing you right at this moment in this cafe, right?" He whispered under her ear.His words sent shivers running down her body and made her hair stand at the back of her neck. The way he said it made her believe he would definitely do what he wanted and she didn't want any of the things he wanted to do with her, thus she turned around slowly and walked back to her seat."Good girl." He smiled with satisfaction and he also sat back in his chair."Green tea for the pretty lady." The waiter came back with green tea in his hand and put it on the table in front of Cassie.Tobias's short temper returned back to him when he saw the young man smiling at his girl and calling her pretty. 'Who the fuck is he to call her pretty?'"Thank you." She said and the waiter asked for Tobias's order but he dismissed him without ordering anything."Tobias, look at me." Cassie told him when she saw that he was thinking about ways he could use to hurt the poor waiter. Her voice brought him back to the present and Tobias instead focused on her beautiful eyes again. His eyes saw how her beautiful summer dress hung her body perfectly. Saw how her heart shaped lips were gracefully kissing the tea cup and couldn't help but voice out what he was thinking."Beautiful."Cassie was about to have a sip of her green tea when she heard him say something. "What?" She asked, thinking he said something about the waiter. She is really worried he would hurt the kid."Nothing, I was just thinking how beautiful you look." He said again, really meaning it.In this world, if anyone could make Cassie blush for real, it is Tobias Assante. And she couldn't help it when her face turned hotter than the tea she was having."Thanks?""You don't have to thank me about it." He said and thought he should ask her something."Did you have breakfast?""No, I came here first thing in the morning." She said looking at the streets again. A wind blew across the street blowing her hair on her face and she put it aside still mesmerized by the scenery in front of her.People were living, living their own lives not getting caught up in life while thinking about plans, missions and grudges. They were normal. Something she isn't used to."We should get something to eat then, Love." He said and got up to leave.Cassie on the other hand, was lost at the word 'Love'. Her mind was driving wild in her head. 'What did he mean love? He loves me? Oh don't get ahead of yourself Cassie, he would never love you.'Tobias paid for her tea and stretched out his hand for her to hold. She put her hand in his hesitantly and they both got out of the cafe hand in hand.Third person POV"Tobias? Why aren't we eating at the cafe?" Cassie asked as they wandered hand in hand into the busy street."No." He said curtly and kept on moving into the crowd.Cassie got confused as to why he got mad suddenly but decided to stay silent about it. "Do you like the waiter?" He asked suddenly.'What? Why is this even the point of our discussion?' Cassie thought. "Tobias, I only smiled at the kid and you're asking me if I like him?" "Well you never smiled at me like that. You need even-" He cut his words short and stopped by the biscuits selling cart."Good morning, sir. Which sweet do you like to eat this fine morning?" The elderly looking man asked Tobias. Tobias instead turned over to Cassie and asked. "Which one would you like?" Cassie on the other hand was very delighted by the smell of freshly baked sweets. She was looking at them from far away and thought about getting one someday. But thanks to Tobias, now she's having it. But the problem was, she doesn't
Cassie's POV:The best way to lie is telling half the truth. My mother taught me that but I am not proud to be using it on Tobias. Today he showed me that I mean something to him. I wish I never did. I wish I could just be his employee and that he would just kill me for running away but he forgave me. He never wants me to leave. I am a liar but I also am filled with rage, trauma and I know he won't judge me for what I'm going to do because he is just as tainted as me, if not even more. But why can't it be easy to tell? I just want to do this on my own. I don't want Tojas to see past me. My past self which was weak, foolish and ugly. I only want him to see this version of me. The strong, beautiful one.I am driving back to my house and currently I am looking at the man I got sick of, Jaden. He was talking with my mom in the freshly cut grass of our backyard. I hated the fact that the garage was in that place because if it wasn't I would have just saved my time and got to my room to
Third person's POVTobias sat down on a wooden chair beside Michael who's typing some codes in his computer."How is she?" Michael asked without looking up to see Tobias. He has been in and out of hell to find Cassie's whereabouts when she left. Tobias made him work for 48 hours without sleep until he fainted. He almost thought she was in danger when they found nothing about her. She joined their mafia over five years ago and still they didn't know much about her. Nothing could lead to her whereabouts until they received a mail from an unknown person in Tobias's private mailbox. It talked about her mother and her job, about Cassandra and her father. Small but detailed information. That's when Tobias decided they would fly across countries to find his beloved. But he didn't forget about the unknown person who sent him mail. Nobody knows about his private mailbox except some special people. But none of those special people had the idea of Cassie. Thus, he told Michael to find the pe
“Hey Cassie, welcome to the party!” Carolina was the one who opened the door and took Cassie away from Jaden's hand right when she set a foot in the house. It was that instant she pulled her to the crowded dance floor full of drunk people. Cassie scrunched her nose when the scent of alcohol filled her nose right after. She never liked this type of parties. She liked associating with people who are familiar, nice and sober. Not drunk spoiled grown- children.Unwillingly she started moving a little bit and Carolina on the other hand was wiggling her body like it didn't belong to her. It seems like the dance floor was her home.“Cassie, dance!” Carolina yelled through the loud music.“I am dancing though!”“Babe, that's not how you dance. Watch me!” she yelled again and started dancing sensually as if the latter wasn't energetic enough. The music was really helpful In gathering men around Carolina creating an opportunity for Cassie to escape from that dance floor. As she was trying to s
Cassandra cringed at the eyes of the people staring at her while she walked out of the office to the training field. Some of the eyes were pitiful, while some were cruel and judging. "She had it coming." She heard one of the girls whisper among her friends. Resisting the urge to wipe off the girl's smile, she walked straight to the metal door of the changing room. She sat on a wooden bench and sulked, putting her head down. Breathing heavily she banged her head to the wall in front of her. "Ughh!" She punched the wall forcefully. "Why!" She punched the poor wall again while bood started flowing out of her hands. "I can't anymore!" She threw her hand again for another hard punch but the pain didn't come to her as the previous two punches. She looked up and saw Michael holding her thrown punch. "This wouldn't change anything Cassie." He said, catching her in a strong gaze. "Why does he have to be such a jerk at this time?" She asked, snatching her hands out of his hold. He stood stra
Cassandra looked at her surroundings with a disgusted face. She came back to her hometown after ten years and it l looked just as she left it ten years ago. Clean. Yes it was clean and luxurious looking but the people who live in it were as filthy. They are the most vicious and ruthless group of people she's ever met. No one would think like this about their hometown after ten years of absence but Cassandra, she has no good memory in this place to even say one good word about it. Her legs dragged her close to her childhood home. The place which she was supposed to seek protection from but failed miserably. Standing at the front door of the white enormous apartment, she pressed the doorbell and heard a small *ding* come across the house. She waited for the other person to open the door while skimming her eyes on the beautiful looking flowers beside her leg. They used to be her only friends. Flowers, they were beautiful, soft and innocent. Her thoughts about flowers were cut short
"It has been nice chatting with you, Cassie." Jaden spoke as he went out of the house without breaking his eyes from her enchanting brown eyes. "It has been nice talking to you too, Jaden," Cassie answered politely. They were currently walking side by side on the streets of the neighborhood which she used to live in."Are you going to stay at your mom's?" He asked again. To say he frankly liked the girl was an understatement. The way he has been staring at her for the most of their walk was evidence for it."I don't know. I came here planning on staying in a hotel but…" she stopped mid in her sentence. It's true that she never planned on staying in her former house but it seems like she would do much more while staying with her mother."You definitely should stay here. Your mother is happy while you're there. And I'd be happy if you were here." He stayed silent after saying that. "I don't want to be a burden to her. I mean I've been gone for ten years and suddenly I came without say
Cassandra's POV: Last night I had a relatively less nightmare filled sleep. And waking up in the same room I have been staying in during my childhood days wasn't as beautiful as you might think it is. Well most of my things are not in it but surely the bed and other furniture are at the same place as I left them. It is bright here. I stretched my body inside the duvets and went out of the queen sized bed to head to the bathroom. I was wearing the pajamas my mother lent me last night and the material it's made from is soft as silk. I went to the shower, brushed my teeth with the spare toothbrush my mother gave me and went out of the bedroom to head to the kitchen. "Cassie? You woke up already?" It was my mother. She was sitting on the dining table with her coffee cup in her hand. "Yeah, Good morning." I said and joined her at the dining table. "Have you had a good sleep?" She asked again. This time putting her coffee cup on the table and shifting her whole body to my direction.
