Cassie's POV
"Why are you here Tobias?" I asked, looking at his emerald eyes. I don't know why but seeing him without his lip piercing feels odd."I'm here for you, and you are telling me everything I need to know." He had some more determination in his eyes which is making me worry much about how long I could hide from him.I could feel him sneaking his warm hand around my waist and pulled me a little closer to his torso.I could feel his hard chest behind his shirt and couldn't help but close my eyes when he lowered his head to my neck. His breath was fanning on my ear and my breath hitched when he gave a featherly kiss above my earlobe."Tobias?" My voice came out more like a whisper and I could feel him smile beside my neck."You are so beautiful, Cassie." I could feel his chest vibrate when he spoke. What is he doing? He is my boss for God's sake. What are we doing here? But God why does it feel so right when I for sure know that it isn't.Is he trying to trick me into telling him the reason behind my escape from him?"Calm down, Cassie. Just tell me what's in your mind. What's bothering you Cassie?" His hand on my waist is drawing circles on the fabric of my dress, sending shivers down my spine and it's scaring me now. I'm scared I will give in to his soothing and I don't want that to happen."Tobias, you need to leave." I spoke abruptly, pushing his chest away from me.I gasped for air when he was a comfortable distance away. He was looking at me like he would brust anytime now. "Please, I will tell you everything tomorrow. I will text you the address and I will tell you what you need to know, just go." I said and rushed out of the restroom. I only want him out of here as soon as possible because his presence is an irresistible distraction.I mengled between the crowd of people in the hall and found Carolina standing with Rachel. I was about to turn on my heels and walk the other direction but they noticed me and now they are waving in my direction.'Oh lord, you know I am holding on to my last string of patience and you make me stumble upon these snakes.'I went to their table and greeted Rachel as a new stranger. I held her hand which ten years ago were filled with rigs to make her punches more painful for me.I saw that her brown hair was straightened and her make up covered all of her freckles. Why do these people have to look deceiving? One look at them and they would make any man believe they are the most vulnerable and softest people on earth."Cassie have you met, Leah?" Carolina asked when she saw her other minion coming toward our table. Leah, our camera girl is here. She is the most cunning one of all of them. She might look the most uninvolved but deep down she is the most rotten. And she has something I want from her.I smiled as usual and shook her hand. "How come all of you look beautiful?" I asked, looking at all of them."Oh, that's so nice of you to say." Rachel answered and took a sip from the glass of wine."All of you met Cassie?" Someone from my behind spoke and it turned out to be Sasha. The whole party is here now."Oh Sasha, you came." I turned around and welcomed her to the crowd."Yes we've met. You look so gorgeous by the way, Sasha." Carolina complimented her and turned her face to the crowd."Have you seen Tobias? He was looking as gorgeous as always and you should have seen how he warmed up to Cassie here.""Really?" It was Rachel who spoke this time. She was astonished at what she heard. But why? And also, how the fuck does they know about Tobias? What do they know about him?"Yes, you should have been there. I don't even know how Sarrah convinced him to come here." That is also where I got confused."He even shook her hand." She said again and they all gasped at her statement. What? How's that a big deal? It wasn't just a handshake, he also kissed my knuckles and more? He almost kissed me in the restroom! What would they say if they saw all of that?"Cassie? Is that true?" Leah asked. These people will kill me with their high pitched voice before I manage to kill them God! Why are they all squealing beside my ears?"Yes?" It was more like a question. What do they expect me to tell them though?"Oh my gosh, Cassie. You are so lucky." It was Leah this time."Did you ask for his number?" She asked again. To hell with all these people! What is the big deal out of shaking someone's hand?"I'm kinda getting lost here. Who is he?""You must be kidding, Cassie. Who doesn't know Tobias?" Carolina was the one who decided to torture my ears this time."He is the most handsome, rich and arrogant bachelor in the whole world." She added.Ok then. So it's not only these snakes who dream of him. Why does this information bother me though?"Rachel, have you seen Jaden?" Sasha asked."No she didn't and who cares about him?" Carolina answered.Wait. Excuse me? Did I hear her words right? Wasn't she and Jaden lovers? Wasn't she the one who convinced him to date me and play with my emotions? And now she doesn't care about him."Well I saw him earlier tonight but he disappeared all of the sudden." I answered. Sasha seems concerned about something but she stays silent about it.The rest of the night went by quickly and I made my highschool bullies my friends. I even told them we could go out of town for a vacation. And they all agreed. Now all I have to think about is what I'm going to tell Tobias. Tomorrow I have to meet with him at the cafe near the hotel I stayed in when I first came. He texted me the address right when I went out of the ball. Don't even ask how he got my number. He's got dozens of hackers by his side, while Michael being the smartest of them all.I wonder if Michael is here too. But I shouldn't care now. I will have to be extra careful not to reveal my mission here. I spent years planning this. And I erased any form of evidence about my childhood. I erased my school information, my birth certificate and I believe most people don't even remember how I looked when I was a child. I was the invisible one, silent and ugly. Why would they remember me?Tobias is going to have a hard time digging into my past. Unless he found out about the video Leah was filming. It was the only thing that I am not in control of. I don't know where it is. But I will find it soon. Before Michael or one of Tobias's hackers finds it and blows my whole mission.'This is harder than I thought. But surely I will complete it no matter what.' I thought and got under the duvets to get some sleep. Hopefully tonight I won't have worse nightmares than usual.Hello to my lovely readers. I hope you like this book and inform me of anything you want me improve. ✌️
Third person's POV"Where are you going, Cassie?" Sarrah asked as she saw Cassie heading to the front door to leave."I am going to meet with some people." Cassie said and instead of the door, she went to her mother who was sitting on the wide sofa. She was drinking her morning coffee as usual."Mother, I wanted to ask you about something." She said looking at her mother and sat on the nearest sofa beside her."What is it, darling?" Sarrah put her cup on the table giving her full attention to her daughter. Something Cassie still found new. In the past, she never even glanced at her for more than two minutes."I want to know about how you met Tobias." She said what has been eating her mind the whole time. Her mother's relationship with Tobias is going to determine her next moves now."Oh darling, I was even going to talk to you about it when you return from wherever you were going to now." She said and her face changed to one of a serious one."As you know Cassie, all rich men are attr
Third person POV"Tobias? Why aren't we eating at the cafe?" Cassie asked as they wandered hand in hand into the busy street."No." He said curtly and kept on moving into the crowd.Cassie got confused as to why he got mad suddenly but decided to stay silent about it. "Do you like the waiter?" He asked suddenly.'What? Why is this even the point of our discussion?' Cassie thought. "Tobias, I only smiled at the kid and you're asking me if I like him?" "Well you never smiled at me like that. You need even-" He cut his words short and stopped by the biscuits selling cart."Good morning, sir. Which sweet do you like to eat this fine morning?" The elderly looking man asked Tobias. Tobias instead turned over to Cassie and asked. "Which one would you like?" Cassie on the other hand was very delighted by the smell of freshly baked sweets. She was looking at them from far away and thought about getting one someday. But thanks to Tobias, now she's having it. But the problem was, she doesn't
Cassie's POV:The best way to lie is telling half the truth. My mother taught me that but I am not proud to be using it on Tobias. Today he showed me that I mean something to him. I wish I never did. I wish I could just be his employee and that he would just kill me for running away but he forgave me. He never wants me to leave. I am a liar but I also am filled with rage, trauma and I know he won't judge me for what I'm going to do because he is just as tainted as me, if not even more. But why can't it be easy to tell? I just want to do this on my own. I don't want Tojas to see past me. My past self which was weak, foolish and ugly. I only want him to see this version of me. The strong, beautiful one.I am driving back to my house and currently I am looking at the man I got sick of, Jaden. He was talking with my mom in the freshly cut grass of our backyard. I hated the fact that the garage was in that place because if it wasn't I would have just saved my time and got to my room to
Third person's POVTobias sat down on a wooden chair beside Michael who's typing some codes in his computer."How is she?" Michael asked without looking up to see Tobias. He has been in and out of hell to find Cassie's whereabouts when she left. Tobias made him work for 48 hours without sleep until he fainted. He almost thought she was in danger when they found nothing about her. She joined their mafia over five years ago and still they didn't know much about her. Nothing could lead to her whereabouts until they received a mail from an unknown person in Tobias's private mailbox. It talked about her mother and her job, about Cassandra and her father. Small but detailed information. That's when Tobias decided they would fly across countries to find his beloved. But he didn't forget about the unknown person who sent him mail. Nobody knows about his private mailbox except some special people. But none of those special people had the idea of Cassie. Thus, he told Michael to find the pe
“Hey Cassie, welcome to the party!” Carolina was the one who opened the door and took Cassie away from Jaden's hand right when she set a foot in the house. It was that instant she pulled her to the crowded dance floor full of drunk people. Cassie scrunched her nose when the scent of alcohol filled her nose right after. She never liked this type of parties. She liked associating with people who are familiar, nice and sober. Not drunk spoiled grown- children.Unwillingly she started moving a little bit and Carolina on the other hand was wiggling her body like it didn't belong to her. It seems like the dance floor was her home.“Cassie, dance!” Carolina yelled through the loud music.“I am dancing though!”“Babe, that's not how you dance. Watch me!” she yelled again and started dancing sensually as if the latter wasn't energetic enough. The music was really helpful In gathering men around Carolina creating an opportunity for Cassie to escape from that dance floor. As she was trying to s
Cassandra cringed at the eyes of the people staring at her while she walked out of the office to the training field. Some of the eyes were pitiful, while some were cruel and judging. "She had it coming." She heard one of the girls whisper among her friends. Resisting the urge to wipe off the girl's smile, she walked straight to the metal door of the changing room. She sat on a wooden bench and sulked, putting her head down. Breathing heavily she banged her head to the wall in front of her. "Ughh!" She punched the wall forcefully. "Why!" She punched the poor wall again while bood started flowing out of her hands. "I can't anymore!" She threw her hand again for another hard punch but the pain didn't come to her as the previous two punches. She looked up and saw Michael holding her thrown punch. "This wouldn't change anything Cassie." He said, catching her in a strong gaze. "Why does he have to be such a jerk at this time?" She asked, snatching her hands out of his hold. He stood stra
Cassandra looked at her surroundings with a disgusted face. She came back to her hometown after ten years and it l looked just as she left it ten years ago. Clean. Yes it was clean and luxurious looking but the people who live in it were as filthy. They are the most vicious and ruthless group of people she's ever met. No one would think like this about their hometown after ten years of absence but Cassandra, she has no good memory in this place to even say one good word about it. Her legs dragged her close to her childhood home. The place which she was supposed to seek protection from but failed miserably. Standing at the front door of the white enormous apartment, she pressed the doorbell and heard a small *ding* come across the house. She waited for the other person to open the door while skimming her eyes on the beautiful looking flowers beside her leg. They used to be her only friends. Flowers, they were beautiful, soft and innocent. Her thoughts about flowers were cut short
"It has been nice chatting with you, Cassie." Jaden spoke as he went out of the house without breaking his eyes from her enchanting brown eyes. "It has been nice talking to you too, Jaden," Cassie answered politely. They were currently walking side by side on the streets of the neighborhood which she used to live in."Are you going to stay at your mom's?" He asked again. To say he frankly liked the girl was an understatement. The way he has been staring at her for the most of their walk was evidence for it."I don't know. I came here planning on staying in a hotel but…" she stopped mid in her sentence. It's true that she never planned on staying in her former house but it seems like she would do much more while staying with her mother."You definitely should stay here. Your mother is happy while you're there. And I'd be happy if you were here." He stayed silent after saying that. "I don't want to be a burden to her. I mean I've been gone for ten years and suddenly I came without say
