Author’s POV One month later...Cara came out of the changing room wearing the black dress. Chase who was looking at other dresses turned around when he heard her sandals clicking on the tile floor. His breath got stuck in the back of his throat as his eyes slightly widened upon seeing her wearing the dress, he selected himself. It was a black coloured, A line off shoulder dress. It was fitting her upper body perfectly and was flaring out around her legs, stopping right above her knees. She was wearing black flat sandals. He was still glued to his place. He swallowed hard while admiring the beauty in front of his eyes. He came out of his trance when her soft, hesitant voice fell on his ears. “How is it? Is it looking good on me?” she asked. He released a breath that he didn’t even know he was holding. He walked towards her stopping right in front of her, not even leaving a step’s distance. His left hand went up to tug few strands of her hairs behind her ear as other got wrapped
Author’s POV Cara had tears in her eyes. Fresh tears were continuously flowing from her eyes on her face. Her heart was in pain and it was getting hard for her to endure this amount of pain after going through what happened yesterday. But she still gathered all of her energy and lifted her legs to make her way towards her room. She tried wiping the tears from her face but it didn’t help at all. More fresh tears were still streaming down on her face. As soon as she was out of sight, Chase plopped down on the couch. He ran his hand through his hairs in frustration. After few minutes she came out of her room. He lifted his eyes up to find her walking towards him. He thought she went in her room to gather her luggage but she came out of her room with a first aid kit in her hand. He was staring at her face in confusion. She was still crying, it means she was definitely hurt by his words. But then why isn’t she getting angry at him in return, why isn’t she leaving his house? She sa
Author’s POV “Would you like to hear my story?” she asked and her voice came out just as a whisper. Chase felt her heartbeat increasing to an abnormal level where their bodies were connected, when she mentioned the words ‘my story’. He didn’t say anything for a moment and just rubbed her back with his palm. He placed a soft gentle kiss on her hairs. Slowly her heartbeat became normal. When he felt like that she is okay now, he pulled away a little so that he can stare into her eyes. Her eyes were red and puffy due to all the crying. “I would love to know everything about you Cara, but you don’t have to do it now. We can talk when you are actually ready to share. No need to feel pressured. You know what I mean right?” he said softly. His one hand was wiping her tear stained face and another one was drawing soft soothing circles on her back. She smiled at his words, “I know I don’t have to but I really want to share everything with you. And I think that if I didn’t do it today, I
Author’s POV By the end she was done talking, Cara was crying bitterly in his arms. Going through those petrifying memories was difficult for her. This is the reason why she is scared of offending people. The moment when she offended her adoptive father by calling him bad, still horrifies her. This is the reason why she wanted to apologize to Chase in the beginning when she used to think that she made him think that he is a monster. Because she knew the pain of being called what you are not. She remembers when her father, James used to blame her for her mother’s death, calling her by different names. She didn’t know the meaning of those words when she was young but as she grew up, she understood what all those words meant and it hurt her. That is why she didn’t want Chase to think that he is a monster who scares her. And now she knows for sure that he is not a monster, he never was. At least not to her. He was like her protector who saved her whenever she needed help. His ways
Author’s POV Cara turned around to find his intense gaze stuck on her which caused her heart to pound against her chest. Chase was trying so damn hard to control himself but when she turned around and his gray eyes met with her blue ones, it was his undoing. He strode towards her and captured her lips in a hot kiss, taking her by surprise. His hands slid around her lower back, pulling her in closer so her soft body was pressed against the length of his hard one. Cara closed her eyes and slid her hands up to wrap her arms around his neck, kissing him back with the same passion. He was devouring her mouth with a kind of hunger, he never had before for anyone except for Cara. He wrapped his arms around her waist and hoisted her up placing her on the kitchen counter. She gasped in surprise, breaking the kiss for the moment but he again covered the gap bringing their mouths together. He stepped between her legs as his one hand got tangled in her silky brown locks and another one wa
Author’s POV Chase is sitting beside Cara on the edge of the bed. His eyes are fixed on her beautiful sleeping face. No one in this entire world can imagine, how staying around her or looking at her or just hearing her voice, makes him relaxed and feel at ease. A small smile appeared on his lips when she started squirming in her sleep before opening her eyes. Their eyes met and a beautiful shy smile plastered on her lips. He leaned forward, hovering his upper body over hers so that their faces were just an inch apart. He removed few strands of her hairs from her face and caressed her head gently before pressing his lips against hers in a morning kiss. He left her mouth and whispered softly, “Good morning” and she replied in same kind of tone. “Did you get any sleep last night?” she asked him. “Yes I did” he replied confidently. She stared at his face for few moments before saying, “You are a bad liar, you know?”. He chuckled lightly at her words, “In front of you, yes I am.
Author’s POV “How are you my boy, Chase?” Chase was stunned. He didn’t know if he was dreaming or he really received a call from this person. “Chase what’s wrong?” Cara asked him in concern. Chase came out of his shock after hearing her voice. He picked up his phone that he dropped earlier, putting it over his ear again. “You seem to be very shocked. Did you forget all about your uncle, huh?” the person on other line said and it confirmed Chase’s doubt. It’s the same person he thinks it is. His jaw clenched tight as his grip on his phone tightened. “How can I forget about you?” Chase gritted out in anger. The guy on the other end laughed making Chase even more angrier than he already was and said, “Of course, you should never forget about me. I won’t let you forget about me”. “Why the f**k have you called me?” Chase growled on the line. “Because I missed you my boy. I still miss your crying face, you begging in front of me and most importantly those angry eyes of yours. I miss
