Chapter 4

Keith's POV

  

  Derek and I shifted and ran to the Bloodmoon Packhouse. We made it there in no time and waited for Ebony and the others to show.

  

  "So are you going to change the way you treat her?" Derek asked

  

  I looked at him for a moment and then responded. "She is my mate, Derek. I feel terrible for the way I treated her and the pain I caused her." I said truthfully.

  

  He just looked at me for a second and then nodded.

  

  My mom and dad were on their way as well. We needed to speak to Ebony, Alpha Michael, and Ebony's mom about Ebony and me being mates.

  

  I wanted to grab her and take her home with me the moment I knew she was my mate. The problem was, considering the way I have treated her, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't go willingly, and I would never force her.

  

  I cared for her and wanted to make her happy. I wanted her to agree with every decision that we made. She is my mate and the future Luna of the Silvermoon Pack. She is my equal.

  

  It is crazy how the mate bond works. I went from being a total asshole to her, and now I wanted to make her happy. I was worried about how she was feeling. Worried that she might reject me.

  

  Rejection hardly ever happened. normally it would be a really good reason for rejection. Like a rapist would get rejected.

  

  I wasn't that bad, but I was never nice to her. I said and did some messed up shit to her not even a week ago. 

  

  I had to figure out how to win her over. 

  

  The car pulled up about ten minutes after we arrived. I opened her door and she looked shocked but said thank you and I smiled at her.

  

  "We should talk in my office." Alpha Michael said and I agreed.

  

Ebony, Derek, Alpha Michael, Luna Lisa, and I went to his office.

  

  "My parents should be here in about twenty minutes," I said.

  

  "Before they get here, we need to talk about something private. You have seen Ebony's Wolf and we need to make sure you will keep it to yourself. You can't tell anyone else about her. We haven't even told her mother." Alpha Michael said.

  

  "Why!" I asked

  

  "I am different. I don't know why but you saw my wolf is white and when I shifted I still had my clothes on." Ebony said

  

  "I would never tell anyone, Ebony, I promise," I told her.

  

  She looked at me for a moment and then sighed in relief.

  

  "White wolfs are supposed to be a myth. It is said they hold great power," Alpha Michael said 

  

  "Yeah but I have no powers, besides my clothes staying on me," Ebony replied

 

"You are still young, not even eighteen yet. You might gain some," Derek said, and I agreed with him.

  

  Ebony looked like she didn't believe any of what Derek was saying. I looked at her and didn't understand how I could be so blind and stupid. She is beautiful! The most beautiful woman I've ever seen. 

  

  Someone knocked on the door, and Alpha Michael told them to come in. My mom and dad were on the other side. 

  

  "Hello Alpha Edward and Luna Nancy. Please have a seat," Alpha Michael said.

  

  "Hello," My dad said. 

  

  He looked over at my mate, and she looked nervous. Like she was worried, they wouldn't approve.

  

  "Mom and dad, this is Ebony, my mate," I said proudly.

  

  "Hello Alpha and Luna," she said and was about to kneel. I was about to reach for her to stop. She didn't have to kneel. She was the future Luna and my mate. 

  

  What shocked me was that my mom, the woman who never liked anyone I dated grabbed her arm softly and pulled her up.

  

  "You don't kneel to anyone sweetheart. You are the future Luna and a part of this family now. My name is Nancy, or you can call me mom. Whatever you are more comfortable with is fine with me."She said with a warm smile. 

  

  I was shocked and happy.

  

  "And I am Edward or dad, whichever you are comfier with, Angel."

  

  She looked at them with a look I didn't understand completely. I think she was shocked by how nice they were. She smiled at them and sat back down on the chair by me.

  

  "So are we waiting for your parents to get here," my mom asked. 

  

  Ebony looked over at Alpha Michael and then at Derek for a moment.

  

  "Maybe we should inform your mom." Alpha Michael said

  

  "No!" Ebony said in a hurry.

  

  We all looked at her, and then she continued.

  

  "My mom wouldn't be interested. She doesn't believe in the mate bond." She whispered.

  

  "Ebony, we need to tell her something. He is of Alpha blood. He can't spend too much time without you. It will drive him crazy." Alpha Michael told her.

  

  They started to have a silent conversation. I knew they were mind-linking each other. It looked like Derek, and Luna Lisa was a part of the mind-link as well.

  

  My parents and I looked at each other for a moment, wondering what was going on. It obviously had something to do with her mom.

  

  People from school knew her mom always showed up at clubs and bars. We all knew she drinks a lot and has a new guy almost every week. She obviously doesn't have time for her daughter. I wonder how she treats Ebony.

  

  Alpha Michael had an expression that showed he was upset. His normally blue eyes were black.

  

  Derek didn't look any better. His blue eyes were just as black as his father's. 

  

  "Renee will not be involved with any decisions that involve Ebony from now on." Alpha Michael said. 

  

  We didn't say anything. there had to be a good reason for him to make that decision.

  

  "So, how will we proceed? I expect Ebony to move to the Silvermoon Pack since she is my son's mate. I'm sure that is what Keith wants as well." My dad said, and I nodded.

  

  I looked over and saw Ebony stiffen. I could tell she was uncomfortable with this.

  

  "I don't know if that's a good idea. Ebony and Keith don't even get along." Derek said 

  

  "What do you mean they don't get along? They are mates. I'm sure they will get along. He can't be away from her for too long, and she needs to get to know our Pack. She will be their Luna." My mom said

  

  "She is right, Derek! Ebony should move with him as soon as possible. I think it would be good for the both of them. They both will feel pain if they are away from each other for too long," Luna Lisa said.

  

  "He has been bullying her for years. He has treated her horribly. Tell them, Keith," Derek said 

  

  My mom and dad looked at me. I could see the sad look in my mom's eyes 

  

  "Is this true, son?" My dad asked. 

  

  I looked down in shame before answering, "yes, it is true."

  

  "How could you, son? We taught you better than that," My mom said.

  

  "See, she doesn't need to move in with him," Derek said 

  

  He was making me and my wolf upset. She was still my mate, and now that I knew that I would never hurt her again. 

  

  "I know what I did was wrong? I am sorry for everything that I have done. I was stupid, and I will never make that mistake again."I said

  

  "Let's let Ebony decide what she thinks is best." Luna Lisa said

  

  I turned and looked Ebony in her eyes. She looked back for a moment and then got up.

  

  "I'm sorry I can't do this right now," She said with tears in her eyes. 

  

  I was about to run after her, but my dad grabbed my shoulder.

  

  " I will go talk to her," Luna Lisa said. 

  

  I will go with you, but before I go, son, you need to make this up to her. I raised you better than this," my mom said.

  

  "I Know!" I replied.

  

  "She is probably going to find Kate and Kayla," Luna Lisa said before they left the room.

  

  " What were you thinking, son? You are going to be Alpha. How could you bully people? Bully your own mate," My dad asked.

  

  "I didn't know she was my mate. If I had known, I would never have done any of it." I said

  

  "I know, but now it's going to be hard for you to gain her trust and forgiveness." My dad said, and Derek and his dad nodded their agreement.

  

  "I know, but I will gain her trust and forgiveness even if it takes the rest of my life," I said

  

  Derek let out a laugh and said, 

  

  "good luck with that."

  

  I knew he was right. I would need all the luck I could get.
