Walking into a new phase of life

Zena Pov's

My eyes slowly opened, and the awful smell of medicines hit me hard, I needed no one to tell me where I was. Because the image of what happened was still stuck in my head.

“What's the meaning of the stunt you pulled out there Zena?” I turned and I saw it was my mother, she was actually sitting beside me.

I stared at her, but I said nothing as I shifted my gaze away from her, I should be angry at her for ruining the only chance I had to talk to my baby’s daddy.

“Talk to me Zena,” My mother stated, but the silence was still there. Deep down I hoped and prayed he didn't reject me, but he was only trying to think things through.

“Do you know the stunt you pulled out there could cost me my job?” She asked and that was when she started getting my attention.

“Cost her job?” I rephase in my head, not getting what she meant. She doesn't even know that man, how come what I did was affecting her greatly.

“I ain't letting this slide Zena. Talk to…” Her words were halted when the door opened and he walked in.

For Christ’s sake my baby daddy just walked through the door, and the amazing thing was that he was coming to me.

My heart was beating rapidly as I stared at him, this was when I began to see his handsome features which I was too blind to see before.

“Good day sir,” My mother quickly said and she bow her head, confusing me the more.

“What's going on here?” I couldn't help but ask audibly.

“Zena we'd talk about it later, for now you need to apologise to him for barging into his ward while he was resting,” My mother said and I scoffed.

“Is this woman for real? Asking me to apologise for what I did? When he should be apologizing?” I mentally asked myself, with a deep frown on my face.

“How about him? He should apologise for having a one night stand with a lady in distress, and also acting as though her pregnancy means nothing to him!” I half yelled and my mum’s eyes dimmed.

She stared at me as if I was a lunatic, then she dropped the bombshell.

“You’re pregnant for Justin Sean? The CEO of Alpha Technology, heir to the Sean’s Enterprise, The late Chairman’s son?” She spoke with widened eyes and my breathe hitched. It felt as if the world had stopped moving for that moment as my brain started functioning on it's own accord.

“What!” I yelled, after processing everything.

“You don't know what you've gotten yourself into Zena. I'm just a janitor here, I could get fired for this,” My mother muttered lowly, I could see the frustrated look on her face.

Not until this particular words melted my heart, gave me enough reason to thrive harder.

“I believe you young lady, even though what we did was a mistake, we could correct our wrong to right, by keeping the child,” Justin said, and Zena sighed, releasing the deep breathe she didn't know she was holding.

This was the first time he spoke since he same here, and his words gave her a little bit of comfort, that she wasn't alone in this.

“But-” He paused and she smiled inwardly, knowing he ain't gonna accept her that easily.

“We'd have to go for a DNA test to see if the child is mine,” He said brisky and I rolled my eyes.

“What's the need of a DNA test results when clearly you slept with me,” I said rashly, while my mother was at the back giving me signs to be quiet.

“Yeah I know we both fucked_” He paused and my eyes widened with my mouth opened in awe. Then slowly it diverted to my mother’s burning gaze.

“Yeah we did have sex, but why would he say something this raw in my mother’s presence? Gosh if he's like this, how would my child be?” I mentally asked myself, still staring at my mother who has this unfathomable look on.

“Like I said, I'm not just come random guy who go around accepting pregnancies. I'm a political status, therefore a DNA test must be made immediately the child is born!” He stated with finality, his gaze peircing into mine.

Nah, I won't let this dude play a fast one on me, after fucking me? Yeah I'll say it raw just the way he did.

“You know you rich people always feel like you have the world under your feets huh? But news flash, not me, and definitely not my child,” I scoffed, glaring at him.

“Madam talk to your daughter, I am a very busy man, therefore I except immediate corporation from her,” He said to my mother.

“Stupid dirtbag,” I mumbled under my breathe.

“Zena just agreed to his demands, beside if the child is his there's no need for this,” My mother spoke.

Gosh how did this woman became my mother? She's just so different.

“Fine whatever!” I hissed, I just hated the fact that he won at last.

“With that said you'd be moving in with me,” He said.

“What!” I yelled.

“Who does this dude think he is? He's literally making every decisions for me!”

“It's for your own protection,” He replied.

“Says a guy who's claustrophobia, nah dude you're scared of closure, you can’t protect me! You might chickenend out and then leaving me to baby sit your ass,” I stated rashly and he glared at me angrily.

“Zena!”

“What!” I yelled back at my mother.

“You’re moving into the Sean’s mansion,” She stated.

“Mum, you can't decide for me,” I said lowly.

“I'm deciding for you since you can't do it for yourself, you always make wrong decisions that's why you ended up like this,” She said and I bent my head in shame.

That's me, I never listened, I should have obeyed my mother and not work at Veju Resturant then this wouldn't have happened. Same mistakes shouldn't be repeated.

“Fine I'll move in,” I said.

“Get ready first thing tomorrow morning my driver would be at your place to pick you up. Don't worry we’d find you, your address is with the hospital,” He said and he left without waiting for me to say anything.

I'm slowly walking into the life I never imagined for myself.
