Elodie

His sharp hazel eyes colour still flickers behind my eyelids, holding something deeper than mere protection. I press my fingers against my temples as guilt rolls through me slowly.

I owe him nothing yet I can't seem to escape from him. There's something about him that is beginning to cost my night sleep.

And that kiss, the one I don't like because it sparkles something I thought was long buried, I still carry it carefully. Protecting it like it could mistakenly wash off.

Pacing the room as the weight of my action hangs actively on my shoulder. I regret my action.

I should've waited to hear him out first.

Travis doesn't deserve that. I over stepped.

“But even if I do, it doesn't look like it, so why won't my mind erase the memory?”

I press a gentle touch to my lips, feeling the warm moment I had with him.

Despite all the rumours about him, he's still gentle and kind Inside. Even my Liam has become so fond of him.

And yes, just like from the hospital when he agreed to donate

Travis The dim golden light from my bedside lamp sparkles faintly across my room, keeping me active as thoughts run through my head.I turn restlessly from side to side on my bed, trying to steady my focus in readiness to sleep but unfortunately, sleep is far from me.Everything that had happened earlier Keep replaying, causing distractions I couldn't resist.“I don't regret it, yes,” I squint a little. “Why then am I down?”“It's something I have always wanted.”A warm breath leaves my mouth in the form of a yawn. “Although not in that way.”Shit!“Vivian caused this,” I sniffles, trying not to increase my voice higher than it is already. “but she'll never get that chance she wants.”I pause then consider for a moment. “If Elodie has any love for me at all, then there won't be a problem in the morning.” I say, smirking suggestively. The memories of her hungry kissing still fills my head, before my senses shut down.….Early morning the next day, before the morning sunlight spills th

Elodie “That was a bad sight to behold.” I hiss, dropping my back on the bed, then facing the ceiling. The way she curled those hands into his. And him, why would he brush a kiss on her hand. “Outch…” It hurts now.” I clench the bedsheet, rolling my eyes. “I hated it. Yes. But why the hell should I care this much?” They're adults. They can do whatever they want.” I sigh, shooting my eyes close. But in a moment, I roll onto the edge of my bed, tapping my legs continuously like a child. “How could it still hurt this much?” “I wish I never lay my eyes on that…” I yell. But I'm still talking when I notice a small noise.Quickly I sit up, but only to see Travis leaning on the wall. “Huh…” didn't he just leave about an hour ago? Has he been there listening to every nonsense I was saying?“What are you doing here?” He remains silent, eyes locked to mine.“How long have you been standing?” I mumbles, already coming near him.Surprisingly I'm still talking when he strides forward to me. H

  • The CEO My Accidental Lover    Chapter 23: Between Her And Her

Travis The double satisfying message I carry in my mind makes my heart feel lighter. I imagine it's her I’m planning this for. When I walk through the door, the house feels quieter.“Vivian left.” the housekeeper says without me even asking.Of course she did. Probably after Elodie told her I didn’t want her staying here.I find Elodie sitting in the living room crossing legs while a bottle of water hangs in her hand as she scrolls through her phone. For some minutes, I watch her, carefully observing her mood before breaking the good news.Soon, she looks up and sees me staring nonstop. “Travis. You’re home early today. Is there a problem?” She sounds very concerned.“I had to tell you something.” I say, stepping closer. She drops her phone and slowly releases her legs. “What could that be?”“Two things, actually.” I add.“Okay. I'm listening.”I take a breath before speaking. “One, the scandal has been cleared. My friend handled it.”Her face flickers with relief as she jumps up in

  • The CEO My Accidental Lover    Chapter 22: Silent Loyalty

Travis The building is quiet when I slowly walk in, flashing my eyes, not too wide as my senses study the silent gestures.A young lady in her late thirties made me squint for a moment, though not an angry one. I remember the general rule for every nonestaff. “Round up all tasks before working hours.”Everyone else knows about this rule except maybe the new recruiters but even at that, it is still boldly written at the back of the company's routine booklet.I just wave it off because what they don't know is that today is entirely different. Elodie and I are now friends, no more dramas at home.“Hi.” I mutter to the young lady, scrubbing the floor. She flinches, colliding her eyelids like dust had fallen inside.I understand that surprise look. Or should I say, shock.“Huh? Good morning, sir,” she blurts out, flying a hand to her chest like her spirit almost left her.“Hope it's going well?” I ask rhetorically as I walk past, sending a wink to her, while a wide grin forms in my lips

Travis “But is this your way of punishing me?”“No. It's just a condition, nothing more.” she replies.I squint my face in grimace still trying to understand why she'd make me go on a date with someone like her friend. Or has Vivian pushed her to say it… to test me. Does she already know?Has she found out about my little secret?I tilt my head back, God, I hope I have not spilled too much to her ears the minute I was still inebriated. “Well,” I begin, “you have my answer but bear it in mind, she can’t live here.” The words roll out from my lips.“And why exactly?” Elodie Inquires. Her voice sounds calm yet confrontational.“Because it’s my house,” I say, forcing control into my voice. “And I make the rules.”She smirks, letting out a short dry sound. “Nobody’s dragging that with you.” She glares, her eyes scanning me from head to toe.I just blink, hiding the sting as I steady my face. My hands are still in my pocket.Good. At least she knows where I stand. She turns on her heel,
