Chapter 5

ALFRED'S POV

Jewellery shop. I quickly ordered for the ring and it was brought to me almost immediately. I had to put on sunglasses in order not to be recognized.

"Here, sir!" The jewellery attendant said and gave me the box.

I opened the box and took the ring from it. I looked at it keenly as it reminded me of something. Suddenly the ring dropped from my hand and it rolled to the ground. I quickly walked towards it and bent to pick it up when someone hands brushed against mine. It seems the person was also trying to help me.

"Thanks," I said and stood up. I looked up to see the greatest shock of my life.

"Rhianna..." I called suprised.and removed my sunglasses.

She was really the one. She smiled as she moved closer to me while I stood there dumbfounded. She cupped my cheeis before she spoke.

"I'm back babe," She said and I almost felt like slapping her.

How dare her?! She dares show her face to me after everything she did to me. How dare her?! I thought. My eyes were blazing and I gently removed her hands from my cheeks.

"Babe, aren't you happy to see me?" She said and I scoffed.

"I'm getting engaged today, you are invited." I said and walked away.

As I came out of the Jewell shop. I entered into my car and dropped the ring. The awful and painful memories came rushing back. I ran my hands into my hair.

"Argh!" I yelled and hit the sterring wheel of the car.

How could she show herself to him. She cheated on me with that bastard. They both betrayed me. Nathan called himself my best friend and she my girlfriend whom I love with my whole heart broke my heart into tiny pieces. A tear escaped my right eye.

KIMBERLY's POV

I sighed as I stared at my beautiful reflection in the mirror. I'm not ready for this. I really am not but I have no choice.

"Hey," Kathie called and hugged me from behind and I smiled.

"Cheer up alright, do you know I envy to be in your shoes. I would have loved to be the president's son wife," She said swirling around in a dramatic way and I laughed. I knew she was just joking.

"Cheer up, babe! Just hope something good is going to come out of this your marriage," She said and I faked a smile.

"I really hope so or I'm going to beat the hell out of that playboy. He thinks since he's the president son, he can have his way with everything?" I declared and Kathie chuckled.

A knock was heard on the door.

"Come in..." I said and the president's wife walked in.

We are actually at the president's house. That was where I did all the make up.

"Ma'am," I called as I stood up.

She smiled and walked towards me. She smiled and touched my chin.

"You can call me, mum." She said and I looked at her surprised.

She actually made me remember my mum with her kind gestures.

I nodded and then spoke. "Okay... Mum." She smiled and held my hand.

"Come on the engagement is about to start," She said and we both walked out.

Alfred placed the ring in my finger and the audience clapped. We were engaged finally.
