The worst part about Ethan Pierce was that he thought he could actually resist me. The thought made me laugh.

My father taught me while growing up to take whatever we want by all means necessary untill we get it. The only part of my life he will never accept is me being gay . He once told me that he knows I won't be still just because he told me to so I should fool around untill I get my fill then come back to my senses and marry a woman. If only he knows.

Pierce had the nerve to stand two steps behind me at all times, to keep his jaw tight and his eyes hard, to act like I was just another assignment, which I obviously am but won't accept it. He probably thought his professional mask could hide the way his little reactions whenever we touch.

Thank God I caught a glimpse of them before he switches back to being all 'I don't feel anything ' mood.

What he doesn't know or maybe he did but is refusing to accept it was that every time he tries to push me away, it only made me want him more.

He was playing hard to get, but what he didn’t understand was that he’d already been gotten. Him ending up in my bed was no longer a possibility, it was a goal. And I’d never missed a goal in my life.

Last night I jerked off to the thought of him until I couldn’t anymore.

The memory of his lips on mine from weeks ago, the heat of his body pressed against me , it had been playing on loop in my head since the moment he walked back into my life. The second chance encounter, the way fate tossed him into my office like some kind of fucked up gift wrapped in a suit. I'm not complaining though. Thank you Universe.

Pierce was my bodyguard now.

And soon, very soon, he’d be mine in every other way too.

Just as I was indulging in that particular daydream, the ping of my phone snapped me out of it.

A text from Aiden.

I groaned, dragging myself upright on the bed, squinting at the screen. What the hell does he want this early in the morning?

Aiden: Morning, boss. You have a business trip tonight. Hilton Tech in Japan have agreed to our terms. Their term is that you come to Japan to sign the papers tomorrow noon.

I run my hands through my hair. A business trip. Normally, I would’ve passed it off to one of my senior execs. But then, before I could even think of replying, another ping came through.

Aiden: Already booked your flight. Check your email for the detail.

Of course he had.

I sighed, typing out a quick 'Thanks man' before tossing the phone aside.

Under normal circumstances, I would’ve cursed him for trapping me like this, but the thought of fourteen hours trapped on a plane with my hot bodyguard sitting beside me? It was enough to make me eager to go.

Oh, Japan suddenly didn’t sound so bad.

Scratch that. It sounded like heaven.

The private jet was waiting that evening. I was dressed down for once, black slacks and a crisp white shirt with the first few buttons undone, I rolled up my sleeves. Comfort mattered on a long haul flight, though I admit, I had another reason: Ethan.

I wanted to see just how long his iron control would last when faced with me in casual mode.

He was already aboard when I stepped up, dressed in his usual uniform , black suit, which by the way always looks hot when he wears them . He looked like sin dipped in discipline, and it made my cock stir before we’d even left the runway.

“Mr. Blackwood,” he greeted, voice low and neutral.

I smirked. “Pierce.”

He stood until I sat, then lowered himself into the seat beside mine, stiff as a board. I stretched out, long legs brushing against his. He didn’t move or even flinch, but I caught the subtle tightening of his jaw.

Got you.

As the engines roared and we lifted off the ground, I leaned back, head tilted toward him. “You really going to sit like that for fourteen hours?”

“I’m working” he said plainly.

I chuckled. “Sure. Because glaring at the emergency exits counts as work.”

His eyes flicked toward me, cool, unamused. “Keeping you alive is work. Your entertainment isn’t my concern.”

“Oh, but it is,” I murmured, lowering my voice so only he could hear. “Because whether you admit it or not, you’re entertained by me.”

His lips pressed into a hard line. “You think too highly of yourself Mr Blackwood.”

“Or maybe you think too little of yourself,” I shot back, grinning.

For the next few hours, we played the same game. I pushed, he resisted. I brushed my leg against his, let my fingers trail across the armrest so close to his that our knuckles nearly touched. He never moved away.

Not once.

At one point, I faked sleep, leaning sideways until my head rested lightly against his shoulder. His entire body stiffened, but he didn’t shove me off.

And that was the moment I knew.

I wasn’t fighting a losing battle.

Ethan Pierce wanted me. He wanted me bad. Even if he won't accept it yet.

By the time we landed in Tokyo, the tension between us had stretched so tight I was surprised it hadn’t snapped.

The hotel Hilton Tech had booked us into was predictably luxurious. Everything screamed money. As it should be.A beautiful two bedroom suite, a private living area, floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the glowing city.

I tossed my bag on the couch, already smirking. “Not bad.”

Ethan did his usual sweep of the rooms ignoring me or rather trying to ignore me. He checked every corner, every door, every shadow. Watching him work, so goddamn focused, made me ache in places I shouldn’t admit.

“You’re thorough,” I said as he returned to the living room.

“I’m paid to be.”

I leaned against the window, hands in my pockets, the city lights glinting off the glass behind me. “And if you weren’t being paid?”

He paused, eyes meeting mine. For a second, the mask cracked. Just a second. But it was enough to see the flicker of heat beneath.

“I’d still be careful,” he said finally, voice rougher than before.

I took a step closer. “Careful’s boring, Pierce. You don’t strike me as boring.”

His throat bobbed.

The silence between us pulsed, heavy.

I could feel it, the pull. The same one that had dragged us together weeks ago.

He broke first, looking away, his voice clipped. “Get some rest, Mr. Blackwood. You’ve got a big day tomorrow.”

I smiled, slow and wicked. “Oh, I’ll get some rest. Just depends on how you define it.”

His eyes narrowed, but I didn’t miss the way his hand twitched at his side, as if he wanted to grab me, pin me, do things neither of us should be thinking about right now.

He left me standing there, cock aching, chest buzzing with anticipation.

This wasn’t over, not by a long shot.

And tomorrow, when business was over?

Japan was going to get one hell of a show.

A day after I woke up, my dearest father decided to visit me at the hospital. He sat down on one of the chairs beside me, head bowed as if he were weighing whether he deserved to be here at all. His shoulders looked heavier than I remembered, his hair more silver than black. For a moment, neither of us spoke. The silence pressed in, thick with years of things left unsaid. Ethan lingered by the door, his presence grounding, solid. Then, without a word, he gave a small nod and stepped outside, quietly closing the door behind him and leaving the room to me and my father. I watched my father inhale deeply . "I'm glad you're alright," finally said, raising his gaze to meet mine. "I'm so sorry Alexander, this is all my fault." His voice cracked a bit. "Yes it is." I replied simply. The words surprised even me, but I didn’t take them back. I wouldn’t soften the truth for his comfort anymore. "I'm sorry about everything. About my brother, about me shaping you to be like me." He paused

I woke up to the sound of plastic crinkling. Christ , everything hurts. At first, I thought I was still dreaming. The last the I remembered was driving home and a car hitting mine. Everything felt wrong, like my body was sinking. My eyelids fluttered, stubborn and uncooperative, refusing to open properly. My head aching in a not so usual way.at first everything was blurred, I could only see a shape moved beside me and sound of Soft footsteps.A woman’s voice hummed under her breath.I forced my eyes to open completely. The sound of the steady beeping and the ceiling above me was obviously that of a hospital. I hate hospitals but it looks like I visited the hospital more often lately. My gaze drifted down slowly, my vision clear but still a little blurring before it sharpened enough to register a nurse standing by my bedside, adjusting something connected to my arm.A drip.“oh,” the nurse breathed when she noticed my eyes open. “Good morning.”My throat felt dry. Scratchy. Like I’d swal

Seeing Alex in the hospital bed made my eyes watered. I wasn't the type to cry or let my emotions show. I came close to loosing him twice no three times in less than one year. I won't be able to move on if something happened to him. It's been three days since the accident and I pretty much haven't slept a wink. Eating didn't even cross my mind. I looked like shit. I Hadn’t changed out of the clothes I’d worn the night Alex almost died in front of me. My knuckles were bruised, my shoulder still burned from where debris had caught me, and there was dried blood under my nails I hadn’t bothered scrubbing away.Because none of that mattered.Only Alex did.The hallway outside his room had become our own personal purgatory.Aiden sat curled into one of the plastic chairs, knees pulled to his chest, eyes red and swollen. He hadn’t stopped crying, not really. Every now and then the tears would pause, his breathing would even out, and for a few minutes he’d look like himself again. Then he’d re

It happened in less than a breath. One second, Alex’s car was still in front of me, and the next... Metal screamed. A car burst from nowhere, a violent blur of headlights and steel, slamming into Alex’s side with a force so brutal it stole the air from my lungs. The sound wasn’t just loud, it was wrong. The kind of sound that rewires your brain forever. “No!” The word tore out of me as Alex’s car spun, flipping like it weighed nothing, glass exploding into the air. Time slowed in that horrifying way it does when reality fractures. I watched his car roll once, third time then slam to a stop. Fire sparked almost immediately. My entire world narrowed to that burning wreck. I didn’t remember pulling over. Didn’t remember throwing my car into park or leaving the door wide open in the middle of the road. I just knew my feet were moving, my body running on instinct older than fear, older than thought. “Alex!” I screamed, sprinting toward the wreckage. Heat slammed into me as I got

Hospitals had a way of stealing time. Minutes stretched into hours, hours collapsed into something shapeless and heavy, and by the time I glanced at the clock again, it felt like the day had already swallowed itself whole. I’d barely slept or eaten. Barely breathed without feeling like something hard was pressed on chest. The hallway outside my father’s room was quiet except for the squeak of nurses’ shoes, the distant beeping of monitors reminding me that bodies were fragile things no matter how much money wrapped itself around them. The nurses came every once in a while to check up on my father. It's not like he was in a critical condition. I leaned back in the chair close to my father's bed, arms crossed, leg bouncing despite my effort to keep still. Every time my phone vibrated, my heart jumped and every time it didn’t, I felt oddly disappointed. I had told Ethan to leave. But I knew he wouldn't. It was easier to get Angry when he wasn’t close enough to touch. The room wa

Sleep refused to come. The bedroom smelled like him. His soap. His cologne. The faint trace of blood and antiseptic that hadn’t fully faded yet. I lay on my back, one arm draped over my eyes, replaying his words like they were etched into bone. How am I supposed to love someone I can’t trust? That sentence had done more damage than Joe Blackwood ever could.I turned my head toward the door, half-expecting it to open. Half-hoping he’d change his mind. He didn’t. The guest room door remained closed, a quiet declaration I couldn’t argue with.I deserved this. That truth sat heavy in my chest.I’d told him I wouldn’t hide anything from him again. I’d meant it. God, I had meant it. But intentions didn’t erase impact, and my reasons—however logical they’d seemed—had shattered something fragile we’d only just begun to build.I exhaled slowly and sat up, swinging my legs off the bed. The clock on the nightstand read 2:47 a.m.Too late to sleep. Too early to fix anything.I stood and crossed t
