CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

I'd never felt so alone before. I lived alone with Jen whenever I came from the office. After joining the hostel, Becca stayed with me for a few months. Then she shifted into her apartment. I lived alone. But I was never so alone that I wanted to run away from everything. There was a huge difference between staying alone and being alone. 

      Victoria was sitting on the passenger seat and he was in the driver seat. I didn't look at him. He had chosen his path. I was compelled to be here, tolerating it. He could do anything. 

     His threat was a clear warning toward his contracted wife. I glanced out of the window. Tears were dried from my eyes but it left the unbearable pain in my chest.

     The silence was killing me but I was also relieved that no sarcastic comment came from Victoria. She was busy in her own beautiful world. She must be planning her second date with him. It hurt.
