Engaged

It was a grand party, the biggest gala to hold in a year .

This gala consisted of all business men and women in the business world and for the first time since I got into the business world I was going to attend it .

Alex  looked calm and his eyes felt like they were watching my every  move .

I moved gently from where I sat and then looked at me .

Was I making the right choice?

It’s been two days since I met him and he gave me a proposal. He wanted me to be with him  for as long as he wanted and then he could protect me from my ex husband and his malicious girlfriend .

I didn’t know if I really wanted to be with him or anything, I had just gotten out of a messy divorce but if there was anything that I was going to do to hurt Tristan this was it .

I didn’t mind if I’m being called  different names but I would make that bastard pay for hurting me this much .

“Are you ready princess” his  caring voice broke into my thoughts .

I nod and then he steps out of the car .

The moment he gets out , the paparazzis rush  over to him , capturing every moment .

Alex  was the city's sweetheart and he had been away for a very long time and since he was here , they  would want to film every moment and most importantly the woman he was with .

The door to the car was opened and Alex  stretched his hands towards me .

I smiled as I took them and stepped out of the car .

And all I could hear was the gasp and the whispers  from the crowd the moment they saw it was me .

Ignoring all their piercing gaze  I took his hands gently and then we both walked into the gala .

Coming here with him felt like life itself. For the first time , I felt free and relieved and all that I could think of was him.

Ric stood up and went to give a  speech and all that I could see was him smiling at me .

“I just want  to  use this  opportunity to show an amazing woman and my soon to be wife “ he says gently without breaking his stare from me  .

I stood up and then clapped as the whole gala clapped for me , his last words took me by surprise but I loved it .

I could only imagine what the news would say about me tomorrow .

 As the party proceeded  Alex  and I went out of our way to meet guests and he introduced me to most of them and that was when  I met the last person that I ever wanted to see .

Tristan .

He was standing beside  Rico, his best friend. This was the first time I wasn’t seeing him with the bitch .

The moment our eyes met , Tristan threw me a smile for the first time .

“What a wonderful surprise Tristan” Ric calls  out with a sweet smile as he stretched  his hands for a shake .

Tristan looks at him without taking his hands and then turns to look at me .

“We need to talk solane " he says turning away from the party and walking out .

“ if you want to talk, talk right here in front of my man” I replied him as loud as I could 

My words made him halt  and then he turned to look at me and for the first time, the fury that I had never seen before I saw them in  him .

He was mad , more angry than I had ever seen him to be.

“ You stupid pathetic bitch , you wouldn’t talk to me like that “ he screams at me but before he gets any closer , his friend Rico grabs him and Alex  stands in front of me in a protective manner .

She’s mine now Tristan  , you don’t have any right to come closer to her because if you do , I would beat you the  fuck up “ Alex  threaten him .

Tristan  was about to say something but  he says anything else  , Rico grabs his arms and then pulls him away .

Alex  immediately turned to me  and then hugged me tightly .

“ I’m so sorry you had to go through all of this all these years”  he tells me while kissing my forehead .

I didn’t know if I wanted to cry , but the way he assured me with so much love , my ex husband could never do that .

At that moment , the boldest idea that I had ever thought of crossed my mind .

I pull away from Ric and then look at him .

“Can we go home now ?” I asked him and without thinking he nodded .

Ric and I held hands but the moment we got to the paparazzi , I put my hands on his and grabbed them .

The paparazzi instantly rushed towards us and I used that moment to flash the diamond ring that I had bought .

“What is that ring? Are you  engaged   ? 

It was one of the reporters.

Alex  instantly bent to look at my fingers and then he smiled , I guess he understood what I was about to do .

“What do you think ?”  Alex  asked the reporter and then smiled at them as he led me to the car .

Once we get to the door , he opened the door for me and let me get into the car first but before I get into the car , I tried to the paparazzi and then smiled .

“I’m getting married bitches”
