The police refused to listen to Kenji, they continued to shout orders at Kieran. Begrudgingly, he complied with their orders. He rolled slowly over onto his stomach and raised his hands up in the air. The Officer closest to him hurried to place his knee on Kieran’s back while he handcuffed him. He began to quote the Miranda rights. “You have the right to remain silent anything you say can an will be used against you in a court of law.”

Kieran was confused as to why he was being arrested. He didn’t resist. Kenji wanted to know why they would arrest Kieran but wanted to be with Emma Jean. He was torn by what to do. The paramedic had finished loading her in the ambulance and was about to leave. He had to make a decision quick. He looked at the paramedic, “Can you give me two minutes? This man is her assistant and I need to at least tell her what’s going on when we get to the hospital.”
