Sports Bro Learns The Truth About His Dates

The day of the reveal had arrived, and with curious faces, both Rockstar and Sports Bro arrived at the location sent by Scarlet previously. Instead of the restaurant, they found themselves looking at what almost appeared to be an abandoned mansion, the lawn severely overgrown and the gates barely hanging on to the walls. Just when they thought they must have gone to the wrong address, a girl they had not met before stepped out of the brush and beckoned them to follow her inside the residence. With a glance at each other, they hesitated briefly before shrugging and following her inside. 

Stepping into the residence revealed a much different interior as opposed to the outward appearance of the mansion. The inside was well lit and clean, with sparse decorations littering the walls. Upon closer look, however, it revealed the decorations to be kids' drawings and noodle art, all carefully hung in the halls for anyone to see. The girl led them down through the winding halls into what appeared to have once been some kind of conference room. There were some folding chairs set up, and the girl instructed them to sit while she powered up a simple projector attached to a laptop nearby. The screen lit up the empty wall in front of them, and Scarlet soon appeared with a little clicker in hand. 

Sports Bro had been expecting to hear her talk about the two and give her opinion, something fairly informal. What they actually got, though, was a detailed breakdown of what happened, all accompanied with video footage from a hidden cam that Scarlet had been wearing during both encounters. When the video with Claire began playing, Sports Bro was surprised to see how dark and twisted she was with the supposed power she thought she had and the obsession with power and status she had. What he also wasn’t expecting is that Vanessa hadn’t distanced herself because she didn’t like him like he’d thought - but because Claire had run her off!

After that, watching Vanessa’s tape revealed what by now was an obvious truth. Vanessa was kind and sincere in her love for Sports Bro, but Claire was only interested in the power and money that being with him would supposedly give her. The choice was clear, and Sports Bro immediately stood up, shook Scarlet’s hand, and thanked her profusely. She simply smiled and calmly asked what her payment would be. Sports Bro without hesitation immediately pulled out a thick wad of cash and told her with all seriousness, “I think by now you have realized that I come from money- I give you my word that from now on, whenever you need something, simply ask and I will do it as long as I am able.”

Scarlet smiled and shook his hand once more, thanking him for such a large reward, with that she guided the two men out, Rockstar rubbing it in that he had been right about the girls, while Sports Bro was pushing him away with a hand to the face. After they had left, Scarlet walked back through the mansion and into an office she had claimed as her own. It had clearly been the main office of the mansion, the fullsized windows letting in a lot of light and overlooking the massive garden and backyard of the property. She had cleaned it up last week, and now, she sat in a chair she had found nearby and waited for Bea to return. Before long, Bea entered, bringing in two cups of tea and some simple cookies. 

As she sat down, Bea passed Scarlet one of the cups of tea and got comfortable in the nearby chair. 

“So? What’s the verdict?”

Scarlet’s voice was quiet but clearly heard in the still room. The sun was starting to set, filling the room with warm light and casting Scarlet’s form in partial shadow.  This was going to be a pivotal moment for their plans, and they both knew it. Bea took a deep breath and opened up the laptop that had been in the conference room. With a deep breath that she then held, she opened up the email that had been logged into and clicked on an unread email from a real estate agent that they had emailed earlier. The message popped open, and Scarlet watched Bea’s eyes track from left to right to left again as she read the contents of the email.

“Oh my gosh…”

Bea let out a quiet gasp, tears filling her eyes as she looked up at Scarlet.

“What did they say, B?”

Scarlet watched her with laser focus, clamping down on the emotions threatening to spill out of her with difficulty. 

“We got it! Lettie, we got it! We really got it! This place is ours now!”

With that, both girls lunged for each other, hugging each other as tightly as they could as tears streamed down their faces. This abandoned mansion was now theirs. It had taken a lot of long shifts and risky side jobs, but this place was now theirs, and they could finally start gathering the other children here to start a better future for them all.
