Scarlet Gains A "Clean" Reputation

Things moved quickly after that. Bea and Scarlet had worked hard to track down the other children that had been kicked out upon reaching 18, and most of them were either barely making it by or were homeless. They immediately made plans to reconnect with them and bring them here and also rescue those who had been adopted into terrible families and help them as well.

One by one, Scarlet found her family and brought them in. As more joined, they had more hands to help with restoring the mansion and looking for their other members. Soon, the older ones were out working and developing skills that could be useful for providing for their family in the future. None of them knew what would happen  in the future, or if they would be able to rescue all of the children, they were determined to give it their best shot. Soon, they had saved up enough funds and registered themselves as a non-profit that aimed to protect and support children and young adults in need. Now, with less taxes to stress about and less eyes on them, they continued to plan and prepare for the ultimate plans they knew that Scarlet had plotted. 

Four years to the day that Scarlet and Bea had bought their mansion, Scarlet and the others were finally ready. They had spent all these years growing in skills and building their power base, and they were ready for their biggest fight yet - the Matron of the orphanage they had all come from. The Matron had only gotten bolder in her years of child exploitation. She had bribed and lied her way out of any charges of neglect or embezzlement raised at her throughout the years, and Scarlet was finally ready to bring her down. In the last four years, Scarlet had continued doing jobs similar to what she had done for Sports Bro, going undercover as maids and secretaries and uncovering corruption and plots for the clients she chose to work for and garnering quite a name for herself until she had been given the nickname, “The Cleaner.”

Everyone who heard that the Cleaner was coming for them knew the gig was up for them. She was relentless and would stop at nothing to expose her targets and tear them down from the pedestals they had put themselves on. Everyone under her protection, however, thrived from her care. Scarlet’s ever growing list of connections meant that she could get her people into whatever field of work they wanted and let them build solid careers for themselves. Several of her fellow orphans were now prolific pioneers in science, law, engineering, business, and other niche fields, and they would never hesitate to help her or their fellow orphans if needed.

Scarlet had long ago decided to leave a calling card to let her future targets know that she was coming for them. She found the psychological effects of it to be extremely effective in making her opponents react sloppily and with haste, whereas she worked with deliberate and effective methods, slowly cornering her prey until it was time for the killing blow. Her favorite method of accomplishing this was to take an item from the target’s business or home and place it on their desk, well cleaned and restored to peak condition. This not only showed she could find ways around even the best security systems available, but also that she researched her prey thoroughly. The item was always something of value to the target, such as family photos, hidden items, or copies of secret transactions and conversations. Whatever would hurt most to be exposed if they continued to anger the “Cleaner.”
