Natasha picked the police chief's speaker and once more, she put it on speaker.

At first the police chief's voice didn't come in. Instead, there was noise and people were obviously running around. I wondered if they were under attack.

“Hello? Are you there?” Natasha asked. “Hello?”

“He has escaped,” The voice of the police chief came in. “I just received a report. The policemen escorting him to the station were attacked. Two are dead, and two are injured. Baldwin has escaped.”

Natasha "It is your turn to die,” Jason said, smiled briefly and his finger went to the trigger. I closed my eyes in acceptance of my fate and then I heard the sound of a gunshot.I expected my life to have ended but I heard another one and then a third.I opened my eyes and Jason had fallen in the truck, bleeding out with three bullets in him. The shooters were men from the police tactical unit, SWAT.One of them ran towards me and untied me from the chair. I ran to Bruce now, holding him and feeling if he was still warm. My heart was beating hard like crazy.“He still has a pulse! My husband is still alive! He needs to get to the hospital!” I was shouting. One of the policemen held me back from screaming, “There is an ambulance ready. He will be taken to the emergency room. I need to check you, are you alright? Do you feel pain anywhere? Were you beaten up?”“My husband… Bruce… He is Bruce Stamford…” I muttered. “We know, I know,” the policeman said.“I was asking if you are okay.

Natasha Bruce bent his knee in front of Jason who was smiling so excitedly. While he begged for my safety, Baldwin grabbed a club and before I could shout, Baldwin hit the club against Bruce’s head. The look in Bruce’s eyes changed immediately and what followed was a shower of blood. From his knees, he fell face flat and the blood covered the truck. So I screamed. I shrieked and then I bit Jason’s hand. Like a crazy woman, I tried to set myself free.Bruce was dying… I just knew it. I had seen it before. That was the same way Baldwin killed his butler. He was going to let Bruce bleed out and die.“The great Bruce Stamford,” Baldwin stepped into the truck, admiring the sight of blood.“Who could predict he would die like this, in this messy state? How do you feel, Natasha? It looks like you might have a chance of survival.”“You fucking evil man!” I shouted. “If he dies, you will die too, I promise."Jason pointed the gun at my head again, “One more word from you and I will blow your

BruceI stood in the empty warehouse, looking left and right but seeing nothing of note.I looked at the address Baldwin had sent me, it was this same place. Why was there nothing? As if to answer my question, my phone beeped and when I checked, it was a new address sent by Baldwin. It came with three words‘COME HERE NOW’ all written in capital letters.I looked around to see if someone was looking at me but I found no one. I figured Baldwin must have used this fake place to check if I had involved law enforcement.Well, I haven’t. Not yet. I drove to the new address and in front of me was a truck. If my memory served me right, the video call Baldwin had with him placed him in a truck.I brought out my phone and sent Kelvin my location quickly. I added a note, of course.“Baldwin has Natasha and I am here to make sure she’s safe. Send backup. Be quick.”The moment the message was sent, I turned off my phone and left it in the car as I walked to the truck. Two men appeared all of a su

Natasha “Don't come here! Baldwin will just kill both of us! It is better for only me to die than for both of us to die!”I was screaming in my head but no one could hear it. I just wanted the gag off so I could talk some sense into Bruce's head. But the gag didn't come off, not until Baldwin had cut the call.He ordered his men to remove my gag and blindfold and when my eyes opened to the world, he was sitting opposite me.A look at my left and right showed Jason and two other men. We were at the back of a truck, it wasn't moving.“How are you feeling today?” Baldwin asked me mockingly. I attempted to spit on his face but it didn't touch him.“It only works in close range. Also, if you don't watch your manners, you will end up with a gag again,” Jason advised.“Manners?” I scoffed. “You kidnap a woman from her house yet you dare talk about manners?”“You are the one who needs to have good manners. I don't need it, it has no use,” Baldwin said nonchalantly.“But I have removed your g

Natasha The firemen didn't have to do a lot to quench the fire all thanks to the work done by the security guards and maids beforehand.Bruce had left with the ambulance and I was standing there, watching the mess that had been made. The last thing I heard of Abigail was that she was taking a nap, surely she must have heard the loud bang.I should go to her room to reassure her in case she was feeling scared. I had turned to leave before I heard his voice.“Excuse me, are you Natasha Stamford?” I turned towards the man, he was one of the firemen.“Ah, yes,” I replied with a slight nod. “How may I help you?”“I am the team leader. I would like to ask you a few questions about the fire and how it started. Be it arson or accident, we have questions regardless,” he told me gently.“Then give me a minute, I will be with you after I check on my grandmother in-law,” I replied and tried to turn towards the inner house.“I am very sorry but it has to be now,” he was adamant.“There is a fire

BruceOf the senses of the body they taught us in school, my eyes were the last to get any action. I had heard the loud bang, felt the chills, smelled burning flesh and opened the door to get to the main entrance before I saw it. And then the screaming filled my ears.It was pure chaos. Fire was still burning and Maria was sprawled on the floor, badly burnt. The security guards and maids were running around, trying to quench the fire. The fire didn't destroy the building. However, Maria was badly hurt. She was barely conscious and with the wounds on her body, she had to be taken to a burn center immediately. The firemen arrived and ambulances with them. I turned to Natasha who was looking around helplessly and nervously,“I will go with Maria and make sure she's fine. You stay back here.”“No, I will go,” she volunteered. “It's Maria we are talking about. She is the butler who has cared for me, cared for all of us. I need to make sure she is fine.”“I will handle it!” I screamed. “I d
