It had been about 45 minutes when I got home from the coffee shop. I had my headphones on, so I was in a good mood.

When I got to the front door of my house, I took out my keys and inserted the key, but something was wrong. It wouldn't go all the way in, there was something blocking the way. I took off my headphones and struggled with the door to open it. Nothing was happening.

I knocked hard on the door to open it.

"Who is it?," I heard Ethan's voice on the other side of the door.

"Don't be an idiot, open the door," I said annoyedly, but with a moderate tone.

"You didn't identify yourself".

"I'm Minerva, you asshole. Open the door to MY house," I emphasized my words.

"I don't know, I don't know. Who gave you permission to leave YOUR house without me?"

I massaged my temples lightly, my patience was wearing thin with this guy.

"I'm 19 years old, I don't have to ask anyone's permission to go out. Least of all from an idiot who thinks he has control over me," I said leaning against the door of my house.

I heard his laughter behind the door.

"I think so, your dad hired me to take care of you, that includes when you go out," I sighed, this guy wouldn't budge.

Although he might... I put a hand over the little eye on the door, so as not to let him see out of the house.

"Well, if you're really here to take care of me, open up soon because the old green neighbor across the street keeps staring at me. I feel uncomfortable and I'm a little scared," I twisted my voice around, insecure and helpless, in order to make my charade more convincing.

Ethan didn't answer.

I wondered if he was still there. I knocked twice on the door and before I knocked again, for the third time, he flung the door open.

"Where is that son of a bitch?," he looked over at me and I took advantage and started hitting him with my gym bag with all my might.

I knew all he had was clothes, but I was no wimp.

"You're stupid, you idiot, who do you think you are to lock me out of my house?," I hit him with all my strength and he covered himself with one arm.

When I got tired, I stopped hitting him.

I went to the door, took my keys out of the lock and closed the door behind me. I set my purse on the floor and gave my mother's picture a kiss, as I always did. I walked and went to the kitchen, followed by Ethan.

I turned and glared at him murderously.

"You do that again and I swear, I'll be the one to lock you out and you'll never come in this house again".

"Yeah, okay, don't overdo it was a little lesson for you to learn that you should always tell me where you are going". Ethan leaned against the kitchen door frame and folded his arms, relaxed.

"Oh please, don't take the role of 'bodyguard' so seriously either, it's not like I was going to smuggle people or drugs," I rolled my eyes and looked for something to eat in the fridge.

"Well, I don't know about that. That's why I'm here," he spoke again before I could say anything. What are you going to make for lunch?"

"What? Besides letting you into my house, I'm supposed to feed you?," I looked at him dumbfounded.

Ethan looked at me for a few seconds and nodded several times, with an expression that looked like I was asking something too obvious.

"I'm sorry, who's babysitting who? I think you should feed me," I crossed my arms and started a staring battle.

"Me? Your babysitter? Excuse me, beautiful, but you have labeled me as your babysitter, I am your bodyguard, not your babysitter".

He was right, he was a bodyguard, he was there to watch over my life, not to feed me and take care of me, as if I was a little girl, even if that's how he felt.

"Well, let's make a deal. I'll cook and you do the dishes," I tried to be more flexible with him.

"No," he answered after a few seconds, thinking.

"You're a fool, I try to make a deal with you so we can get along a little better and all you do is say "No ". Just because you are my bodyguard doesn't mean you can come to my house and take over everything and think you have absolute control over me. I can't believe we've only been here for 2 days and I can't even stand you anymore," my tone of voice was quite high, I couldn't take it anymore.

"And you blame me for that?," his voice sounded a little upset, but it was nothing compared to me.

"Yes, it's all your fault," I answered as if it was pretty obvious.

Ethan laughed in my face and rolled his eyes.

"I can't believe it, I honestly don't know why I took this job. Your father spoke so well of you, but in these two days what you have done is to be a spoiled immature girl who is also rude. I came here to take care of you as your father asked me to do in his absence. I came so that we could get along, but you have only insulted me since I arrived. I know it must be hard to separate from your father after 12 years traveling with him around the world, but by unloading with me you will only make this time of something heavy, "Ethan's so calm voice spoke to me, it left me frozen.

As he spoke he had moved closer, we were just a few steps away from each other. His blue-gray eyes were staring at me, I felt his gaze entering deep inside me.

I hadn't realized my actions, maybe he was right. Before I could answer him, he waved me off and left for the guest room where I imagine he must have settled.

I plopped down on the floor and hugged my legs with both arms.

Ethan was absolutely right, I had been all rude to him and all I did was insult him, I never got to call him by his name. Rather, I was two days old and he already knew more than I knew about him. I didn't even know his age.

What have I done? I'm a complete fool.
