"Where are we going?" Athena asked again while looking at the girl sitting beside her while pretending to be busy on her phone. "Shopping and today we are going to meet someone after ages." Emilia grinned after finally answering her question. Athena looked at her curiously. "Who?" She asked. "You will soon know." Emilia waved mysteriously, making Athena scowl at her. Today after breakfast, Emilia ordered her to get changed and then dragged her to the car without informing her about anything. She didn’t know what had gotten into her best friend's head early in the morning. Currently, they are sitting in the car while heading toward the mall. "Why do we need to go shopping suddenly?" Athena asked Emilia while heaving a bored sigh. She didn’t want to spend her hard-earned money shopping again. She almost let out a cry thinking how much money she was going to lose this time. "We have a dinner party tonight, remember? And It's been so long since I last went shopping with you. You d
Oh my God! Roman married her! Wasn't she one of your maids here? When did this happen?" A surprised squeak reached everyone's ears making the warm cosy room turn cold all of sudden. All heads turned around towards the source of the voice which happened to be Helen's younger sister Judith Boyle's. Athena turned around to look at Roman and found him clenching his jaw. His eyes hardened while narrowing into slits as he looked down at his plate. "If I were you, then I would have watched my mouth before opening, Judith. She's now the daughter-in-law of this house. Mind your words next time." Henry commanded in his authoritative voice while glaring at Judith who frowned at his words. "She is now our daughter-in-law, be respectful Judith. Don't make me lose my face in front of my family." Helen scolded her younger sister while smiling at Athena apologetically. Athena smiled back and mouthed 'It's ok. "Sorry! I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just a little bit surprised." Judith apol
It was around 11 am and Athena was engrossed in typing away some important emails which Kevin had instructed her to send. She finished the last email and withdrew her hands from the computer while stretching her arms. She let out a yawn and shook her head to get rid of the sleepiness. Sending emails was quite boring, the thought while grabbing her phone from the desk. She glanced at the office door in front of her desk and heaved a sigh. That was Roman's office. A few days ago she was shifted here in front of Roman's office from her previous cabin. Well, Kevin informed her that she was now Roman's full-time assistant beside him. She didn't like the idea much but she didn't have any choice left. After the dinner party in Morin's house was over, they returned to their penthouse. Both Roman and Athena avoided each other's presence deliberately, especially Athena. She mostly stayed in her room or on the balcony when they were inside the house and inside her cabin when they were in he
Chapter 22 After taking the black coffee mug filled with black coffee, Athena carefully made her way toward Roman's cabin. She knocked two times as usual before making her way inside. Behind the black mahogany wooden desk, Roman was sitting quietly while typing on his laptop. He was wearing a black shirt along with a grey suit. Athena also noticed his grey blazer hanging on his chair. His whole focus was on the computer's screen. Without wasting any more time, Athena moved her legs in front of his desk and placed his coffee on it. "Here's your black coffee, sir," Athena spoke softly while placing it near him. Roman nodded while casting her a glance. He then took the coffee without removing his eyes from the computer before taking a sip. He seemed really busy. Athena stood there while debating with herself if it was the appropriate time to ask for a leave. Roman noticed her standing there while thinking of something. She was wearing a pair of black skirts and a beige sleeveless top
Among the heavy pouring rain, Athena ran aimlessly on the street while desperately looking for a place to stay till the rain stopped. She had long removed her high heels which made it difficult to run. After running for a while she found a bus stop nearby and quickly went there. It was empty. It's not like it was too late. It was probably around 8 pm but this area seemed too empty due to rain except for some vehicles passing by. Athena put her shoes aside after taking a seat on the bench placed at the bus stop. She then pulled her hair open and tried to get rid of the excess water. She also tried to get rid of the water by squeezing her clothes. Her whole body was shivering due to the cold. She caught a cold easily if she was drenched in rain. That's one of the main reasons why she avoided getting drenched in the rain even if she loved it. Athena wrapped her arms around herself while waiting for the rain to stop. Then she could go nearby to get help or hire a taxi. Her teeth started
After coming back from the hospital, Athena locked herself in her room for the whole day. She didn't even come out to have dinner which made Roman quite anxious. He had knocked on her door two times but didn't get any response. He knew she was mad at him and it was justified after what he had done the previous night. He wanted to apologise but didn't know how to approach her when she had locked herself in. On the other hand, the whole day Athena stayed in her bed, she was angry and upset. This time she wasn't going to forgive him for being so cruel. The whole day she read some books, talked to her friends and watched some movies before dozing off. The next morning Athena came out of her room and headed straight to the kitchen to make some breakfast. She had taken a shower and let her wet hair open to air dry. She made some pancakes, fruit salad, bacon and scrambled eggs. After setting the table she sat down at the dining table to eat. She was happy that Roman wasn't there. She was q
Athena was getting ready to go to work when her phone dinged indicating she had received a text. She put away the lipstick before grabbing her phone. She checked the message. It was from Kevin, Roman's assistant. Dear Ms Carson, Mr Morin has given you four days of leave starting today. You don't need to come to work today. You can join the office from next Monday. Have a good day! Kevin Garnett. Athena stared at the text and blinked a few times. She couldn't believe her eyes. It was Tuesday. Roman had given her almost one week's leave which meant she could attend Ivan's wedding with others. It made her happy. She grinned after closing her phone and throwing it away on her bed. Their flight was the next day and Athena hadn’t packed anything yet so she hurriedly went to pack after getting rid of her office attire. __________________ _______________ The next morning when Athena opened her eyes, she realised she was already late. Her flight was at 9.30 and it was already 8 am. S
After a Four hours 40 minutes flight, they all finally reached Hamilton, Ontario. Ivan came to pick them up from the airport and drove them to the house he had rented for his wedding. As Ivan and Abigail, both lived in Vancouver currently, they didn't have any place here. So he had to rent a house for the guests. Both of them were orphans and that's why they don't have any relatives except the people from the orphanage, some friends from college and colleagues from the office. The wedding will take place in the church of the orphanage. When they all reached in front of Ivan's house, they found Abigail along with another two women waiting for them at the entrance. They all got out of the car. The girls made their way towards the entrance while the boys went to collect their luggage. "Hi guys, I hope you didn't face any problems coming here." Abigail cheerfully greeted them with a smile. They all smiled back. Athena had met Abigail two times already and she was a total sweetheart, a
