Zach panicked when he realised what he had just let slip. He thought he was nearly over Darien, now it sounded like he had been pining for him.
“I miss you too,” Darien replied after a few seconds. “You really have made a difference to my life and it’s sad to know it’s my fault that we can’t go anywhere together.”
The intern breathed a sigh of relief. Darien hadn’t noticed how pitiful he had sounded and felt the same way.
