Chapter 77

Rafael stuck to his word and didn't ask her again about coming back. He texted her only once the next day to ask if she was doing okay. She waited until midnight to see if he would call her.

'What was I even expecting? He would rather die than call me. Maybe I should call and see if he's awake and thinking about me.'

She checked her phone for the hundredth time and finally wrote a text. But she stopped before hitting send. She thought it would look desperate if he wasn't actually thinking about her. If he already went to bed and she was the only one tossing and turning, sending texts at 12.30 AM, it would be terrible.
