Chapter 22~ Guilt

"Where did you spend the night, young lady? And with whom?" Katherine Scott's questioning tone reached Claire's ears the moment she walked into her apartment.

She stopped in her tracks, guilt creeping into her as she turned to face her mother who was seated on a couch in the living area.

"Mom...uh... good morning," Claire said, chuckling awkwardly. "I got drunk last night and slept at Quinn's-"

"I saw you getting out of Oliver's car, Claire. Did you spend the night with him? Have you already forgotten how much he hurt you six years ago?" Katherine pointed out, her eyes narrowing on her daughter.
