Marcus stared at the man who had just willingly ordered the financial execution of his own company.

"The entire greenhouse, sir?" Marcus repeated, his voice completely hollow. He had worked for Lucian Sterling for a decade, and he had never seen the icy, calculating CEO act entirely on raw, unhinged emotion.

"Every single stem," Lucian growled, his dark eyes fixed on the spot where Zara had been standing moments ago. He could still smell the faint, intoxicating trace of her vanilla and jasmine perfume lingering in the air. It was driving him insane. "If Julian Pierce bought her a dozen roses, I want a thousand. If he bought her orchids, I want the entire harvest imported from South America by tonight. Spare no expense, Marcus. Drain my personal accounts if you have to."

"Yes, Mr. Sterling," Marcus swallowed hard, finally realizing that the war for Sterling Enterprises was over. The war for Zara's heart had just begun.

Across the city, Zara stepped out of the private elevator and into the sleek, modern lobby of Vance Design's temporary headquarters. She was still trying to steady her racing heart.

Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the dark, predatory look of total surrender on Lucian's face. Take the whole damn company. The sheer magnitude of his desperation had awakened a heavy, forbidden heat low in her belly that she was desperately trying to suppress.

"Zara!"

Julian's sharp voice cut through her racing thoughts. He was striding across the lobby toward her, his phone pressed to his ear, looking furiously confused. He hung up the call and stared at her.

"I just got off the phone with our legal team in Paris," Julian said, his blue eyes wide with disbelief. "They filed the hostile takeover injunction ten minutes ago. We were preparing for a bloodbath in the courts. But Sterling's legal team... they didn't counter file."

Zara stopped walking. The click of her stilettos halted on the marble floor. "What do you mean they didn't counter-file, Julian?"

"I mean they surrendered," Julian breathed, running a hand through his blonde hair. "Sterling's lead attorney called ours directly. He said they are waving the mandatory waiting period and drafting the transfer paperwork immediately. Zara, he just handed you a three-billion-dollar tech division without throwing a single punch. Why?"

Zara's breath hitched. Because he meant every single word. "Lucian Sterling doesn't surrender," Julian continued, his protective instincts flaring as he stepped closer to her. "This has to be a trap. He is a ruthless snake, Zara. What exactly happened in that office?"

Before Zara could formulate a lie to cover the sudden flush heating her cheeks, a massive commotion erupted at the front entrance of the building.

"Hey! You can't park those here!" the Vance Design security guard yelled.

Zara and Julian turned toward the floor to ceiling glass doors of the lobby.

Five massive, pristine white delivery trucks had just aggressively pulled up onto the private plaza, blocking the entire entrance. The back doors of the trucks rolled up simultaneously.

Zara's jaw dropped.

Dozens of delivery workers began flooding into the lobby. They weren't carrying boxes or corporate files. They were carrying flowers.

Hundreds, thousands of them.

Massive, extravagant arrangements of the rarest, deepest crimson roses the exact, aggressive shade of the power suit Zara was currently wearing. Within sixty seconds, the minimalist corporate lobby was transformed into a suffocatingly beautiful, overwhelmingly fragrant sea of red. The scent of roses was so thick and intoxicating it made Zara's head spin.

The entire Vance Design staff had stopped working, coming out of their offices to stare in absolute shock at the sheer, ridiculous billionaire flex unfolding in front of them.

"What the hell is this?" Julian demanded, stepping in front of Zara protectively.

The lead delivery driver ignored Julian completely. He walked straight up to Zara, his eyes lowered respectfully, and handed her a single, thick black envelope sealed with dark red wax.

"For you, Ms. Vance," the man said, before turning on his heel and leading his army of workers out the door.

Zara's trembling fingers broke the wax seal. Inside was a heavy piece of custom cardstock. The handwriting was sharp, aggressive, and undeniably masculine.

Julian can buy you flowers, but I can buy you the world. You can have my company, my money, and my pride, Zara. But I am taking back my family. And I am taking back you. Wear this crimson suit tonight. My driver will be at your penthouse at eight. Don't keep me waiting.

A violent shiver ripped down Zara's spine, a terrifying mix of fury and undeniable arousal. The sheer arrogance of the man. The absolute, unyielding dominance.

"What does it say?" Julian asked, his voice tight with suspicion as he tried to look over her shoulder.

Zara quickly folded the note, slipping it into her pocket before Julian could read the deeply intimate, possessive words. Her heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird.

"It says," Zara replied, her voice dropping to a husky whisper as she looked at the thousands of crimson roses surrounding her, "that Lucian just changed the rules of the game."
