36. A Proposal
Ansel almost laughed out loud as his sister looked like she was about to pass out. He wasn't going to tell anyone about his impulsive decision to propose to Elisa, but Anya was his twin, and they always shared secrets. Besides, he planned on asking Elisa tonight.
"Come again?" Anya blinked twice and asked.
"I'm going to make Elisa my wife so she won't have to go anywhere else. She can permanently live with me," Ansel said.
"Um...wow...okay. I didn't see THAT coming. Does Elisa know of your plan?" Anya cleared her throat.
"No. And I'd appreciate it if you keep your blabbermouth shut until I tell her," Ansel said sharply.
"I don't have a blabbermouth," Anya protested.
Ansel shook his head impatiently. "Just don't tell anyone. Except for Connor, I guess. He is alright," he said.

Ansel looked at Elisa. She was quiet the entire ride home as if she was worried about something. Audre fell asleep, so there was nothing but uncomfortable silence. "Are you okay? That went well, don't you think?" he asked. "Yeah, it did," Elisa said quietly. "Then why do you look worried?" Ansel narrowed his eyes. Elisa looked like she was hiding something, and he didn't like that one bit. Ansel wasn't a fan of secrets. Elisa looked at him and smiled. "It's nothing. I'm just a little nervous, I guess." It made sense, but Ansel wasn't convinced. He wanted to push her for more answers but decided against it. There will be plenty of times to ask questions.
