Derek's POV

"This is highly ridiculous, mother. There's no way that I'm agreeing to this bullshit" I practically yelled at the top of my voice.

After throwing the document in my face, I realized my signature was truly on the paper and concluded that my mother had set me up with a hot, sexy vixen just to make me get married to the girl she had come with.

I quickly pushed the thoughts of the rendezvous night I had with the girl and faced the matter at hand.

We were currently sitting in my living room while the girl who came with her was sitting in the dining area. I didn't even spare her another look after she walked in with my mother.

"Well! Your signature says otherwise" My mother replied.

"I didn't sign this mother, you blackmailed me, and you set me up with that witch" I yelled.

"Oh my God, Derek, you dare accuse your mother of such a thing. Is that how you see me? Do you see your mother as evil as that?"

She was wiping some unseen tears away from her eyes. I know my mother and I fucking know what she's capable of.

"We both know what you're capable of doing mother so cut off this drama that you're performing and spare me"

"So, you're telling me that you do not trust your mother, right?" She asked

"Yes! In every fucking language on earth representing the word, Yes. I do not trust you. You know the type of woman that I like and you decided to use that against me"

I pointed my accusing finger at her.

"Don't blame me for that Derek, I was only watching out for you. You need to stop living like this and settle down. I didn't know of any other way to go about it so I used that brilliant method, guess who helped me with it?"

"I don't care, all I care about is this marriage or whatever…."

"Ariana did," She said, referring to the name of my sister.

What! Arianna did this to me. I thought she was on my side. She's my favorite cousin who I always regarded as a sister but now it is clear that your enemy can be your favorite person too.

"I will kill her. Tell Ariana that she won't survive it after I'm done with her" I threatened.

"But you had a nice time with the girl she suggested, right? Give her some respect for that" Lips pout, my mother complained.

I still can't believe I'm sitting here, listening to what my mother was saying for God's sake.

"Whatever you say, mother. I don't care. I'll sue you to court. I don't care if you gave birth to me, but I'll make sure I ensure both you and Ariana get jailed for this evil act"

My mother knew I was only bluffing, I could never sue my two favorite women to court not to talk of jailing them but I needed a way out of the calamity that had been brought on my life.

My young life for that matter.

My mother picked up the paper, stood up, and brought it so close to my face.

"Not with your signature and stamp on it, son. No court will be so blind enough to ignore that"

"Where did you see my stamp, mother? I don't remember using that one" I asked

"Let's just say I was smart enough to add that little part to it. You should have picked up my call when I called you this morning, honeybee" she touched my cheek lightly.

"Stop calling me that" I grumbled, removed her hand from my cheek, and sat on one of the couches.

"You should just agree to this thing, Derek. I'm so sorry but I got you this time around. You're stuck with me darling. Really stuck!!"

I turned to glare at her. She was getting on my nerves and I hate to admit that she was successful at doing that.

"I will divorce her in a matter of days. You know me, mother. I never go back on my words. Trust me, I'll divorce her and make her regret ever agreeing to this marriage of a thing" I threatened with a serious look on my face.

My mother suddenly started laughing, "Divorce who? Oh honey bee, you haven't gotten the privilege to read what you signed and stamped"

"I didn't sign and stamp anything"

"At least you signed it" She glared at me before shrugging her shoulder.

"If you read this particular clause here," she said pointing to the document, "it says that if you try to divorce her, your wife has the right to take over your clubs and you'll willingly work for her"

"Unbelievable," I said loudly, laughing awkwardly.

"I didn't believe you'll be so weak to sign the document that way either"

"I can't believe that stupid clause was added as well," I said. "I still won't give up, I'll fight this in court, I swear on my life"

"I'd love to see you try honeybee. Go ahead and do that, sweetie"

"This isn't fair" I grumbled

"Life isn't fair," my mother replied.

"You can't do this to your son, mom. I'm your first child, you shouldn't throw me to the wolves"

My mother stood up, and looked at the girl who was sitting in my dining area. That made me give her a second look. I still wasn't pleased with her appearance so I turned back to face the dramatic and cunning mother that God has given me.

"She's human, son. She's not a wolf"

I scoffed at her response and realized that my plan of cajoling her and guilt-tripping her wasn't working.

"I've heard of arranged marriages, marriages out of love, and even out of pregnancies but what the fuck is this called?" I asked angrily.

"How about we call it, Arranged marriage pro-Max"

What!

"You're not being funny, mother"

"I didn't sign up for a comedy show audition as well, sweetie. Pull your acts together son, process it, accept it and move on as a married man"

She clapped her hands as she said those words.

"That's impossible. I can't be single at a minute and then be married the next"

"All things are possible. Somebody say a big amen to that!"

I heard a burst of tiny laughter from behind me and when I turned, I saw the "wife" trying to hide her smiling face. She looked Asian or maybe American or maybe I was still drunk or something.

"How about getting Caster married to this girl?" I tried diverting this current problem to my younger brother.

"You know why I'm doing this for you" She simply replied.

It's so crazy that she finds this funny when I'm about to lose my mind.

"Where are you going?" I asked when I saw my mother picking up her bag.

"Leaving. I can't stay here with you and your wife"

"No, you can't do that. You can't leave her here with me" I said, pointing at the girl.

"Her name is Lily and she's not leaving with me, because she'll be staying here with you from now on"

I followed her as she made her way out of my house.

"Mother, you know me far too well. You know I'm not capable of loving or even having the slightest compassion for anyone. The little feelings I have aren’t even real " I complained.

I’m not a murderer. I don't go about killing people or locking myself indoors all day long but still, I won't flinch if a person gets killed right in front of me.

After strangling my cat to death when I was just six years old, my mother had figured out something was wrong with me, and ever since, the therapy sessions never ended. It was exhausting enough to deal with therapies not to talk of my mother being at my back every day waiting for me to kill someone.

"Give it a try this time, son. Try to feel it" She patted my cheek before opening my door, ready to really leave me with a complete stranger.

I shook my head in disbelief at what my mother was doing to me.

"Oh and also, another clause of what you signed and stamped added that you're to resume in your father's office by Monday, honeybee. Have a lovely weekend"

If you think bad luck doesn't exist, then tell me what you think my situation is.
