Chapter 9- Blake

The look on her face was enough to make anyone melt and it was sure enough to make me rethink what I was doing

It was out of character for me to go through an underhanded means like this but from the way she stormed out, it was evident that we were now enemies

And that was better than being strangers, if I could not have her as mine, I would take whatever I have, even if it means a fake relationship

“I am offended on behalf of our mate that you need to blackmail her to get her to be your girlfriend “

Leo said

“As usual, giving your unsolicited opinion”

I said with a roll of my eyes as I drove into the school parking lot

“It is not unsolicited if you actually want to hear it”

“I actually do not”

I said as I scrolled through my phone , looking at the unanswered message I had gotten last night

She had not realised it was me initially, but once she did, she shut down the finger immediately and refused to reply to my texts again

“We both know that you are just searching for a distraction because the age of the prophecy is getting closer”

“You actually do not know that”

“She is a human, it would never happen, they will never let you”

“There is nothing wrong with her being a human “

I said, my voice sounding unsure even

“I will let you delude yourself”

Leo said and went silent

I hated it when Leo was right and that was basically every time

What I was doing was basically ignoring the fact that the chances of the prophecy not being actual bullshit was real

And apparently, my mate was the key to the whole fucking it. So it was probably safe to say that Rosaline was definitely just a distraction I was letting myself have

Suddenly a knock on my car window glass brought me back to reality

I killed the ignition and got out of the car

“Hey man. You were in there for a long time”

The guy asked , his tone laced with concern

I glanced at him, he was one of the weaker players in the team, I had watched their games and studied their games

“Tanner, yea?”

I asked, despite knowing who he was.

“Wow , you remembered”

He asked in shock, a childish like excitement on his face.

I had done a background check on every player in the team, from Noah to the last member. I knew each member by their name , their strengths and their weaknesses

It was a ritual of mine since I began playing in a team. Even since back in the pack, in the pack games, every wolf mastered their opponents strength and weakness

I had been forced to learn it and abide by it with the numerous alpha opposition I got

Despite what the pack thought, my position as alpha was one that could not be taken away

It was not because I won every challenge thrown at me for it before because the prophecy chose me and I secretly think no one else wanted that burden

“Yea, I do. What do you play?”

I asked him, letting him tell me his position by himself

“I play left back defence”

That is cool, I nodded slowly

The defenders were very important in every team and if I was to play in this team, alot of changes were to be made

“What of you?”

“Mid field ‘

I paused and looked at Noah squarely in his eyes

“Mid field Center “

I said with a smirk on my face as the smile on Noah's face dropped

“Oh well, that does not matter. I am the center mid field, you have to play another position’

I looked at him from head to toe, he was impressive on the field but he was not even academy material impressive yet

He let his ego get ahead of him and his training .

Hockey was my passion, when I played it felt like I was flying, it felt the same like when i let out my wolf

But from the tapes, Nosh played like he was forced, like he just went through the motions and that was just one of the numerous reasons I was better than him

“Boys!”

The coach called out, standing between I and Noah

“Yo coach! Tell this newbie that in here , he follows my orders. If he wants to do otherwise, he should go back where he came from”

Noah growled , he was so easily pissed off

I looked at the coach

Coach Alan, he was a fat pot bellied man that I had no idea why he was the head coach

He was very biased and with the cartier watch on his hand, I knew that half of the members of this team were puny’s that their parents paid to get them in

The only reason this team was standing was because of the assistant head coach

Coach Emmet

The readon i joined this damned team on the first place

“Hmm”

I murmurred

“Do you want to say something?”

The coach asked in a gruff voice like he could not bother to be disturbed

“I just wanted to say that I think this is the worst hockey team I have ever come across before”

The murmurs that filled the air made me realise that I had hit a sore spot

“What do you mean?’

“I mean, take a look at your players, you are wasting their skills in positions that they are no good in. And if i recall the terms that I laid out when I was begged..”

I pursed my lips and stared at Noah

“To join this team- “

“What terms?”

The coach asked

“The terms that said that i will only join this team if I play my position, midfield centre and all of my suggestions for the rest of the team are taken into consideration. Did you not hear?”
