achilles drove us into the abandoned parking lot. it was so quiet, but the air was cold and still. "Everyone out," he growled.

I jumped out of the back of the jeep, still feeling a bit sore. Emilio slid out behind me, and Aries came down afterwards.

"Where are we?"

I glanced back at my men. “Where will you take them?” “None of your business,” he hissed, dragging me into the large house. “But don't worry, I won't kill them. Not yet.” I swallowed. Emilio had called him his uncle, and Isaiah called him father. I thought he was an orphan. How come he— “Do you know who I am, young girl?” I shook my head. “No. They never spoke about you.” Isaiah trailed behind us. “There was a reason for that, Lyla,” he answered. “My father is—” “My son is dead,” the man hissed. “He died the day he ran away. I do not know you.” “Father, please,” he begged. “Get lost,” he said. “Before I shoot you.” I watched Isaiah slink away. “You should not scream at your child like that,” I said. The man glared at me. “We're going to my study.” I walked behind him. “Your house, it's beautiful.” It was almost as big as Christians. “Thank you,” he said. “I got it from my father, and he go

"Eli removed my womb as a punishment once. I refused to sleep with someone and he—" "There are many ways to have kids, Aries. Now hush, you don't want to draw attention to us." Achilles hovered in the background, but our time was up. "She needs to leave now. so they don't get tracked." Emilio stood by Aries. "Hey kid." She looked up at him, teary eyes, bright green eyes. "Hey." "I got a little something for you," he said, bringing out a small knife. It had the mark of a skull on it, and it was as black as her painted nails. Aries took it carefully. "Want me to cause trouble with these?" she asked. "No. I need you to be good. Where you are going, it's a place you can love and be free. Forget about this life. If we survive, I promise, we'll be back for you. If trouble comes though, I need yo
