Dash POV
As I enter the Law firm where my brother works, I smile at the receptionist on the ground floor and she smiles back, giving me a small nod that basically tells me I am allowed to go up. Well, she would never stop me anyway, but it’s nice to have the confirmation I am allowed up.
As soon as the elevator doors open, I am greeted by his secretary that is a milf. I don’t know how my brother can keep his hands to himself. The woman is stunning. I wrap one arm around her waist and hug her, and she smacks my shoulder as she giggles. “Let go of me, you womanizer,” she says as she laughs and I smile, letting her go.
“How are you beautiful?” I ask Janet, and she looks at me over her shoulder as she walks down the corridor with her heels clicking on the marble floor.
“I am well. How about you?” She asks me, and I shrug in reply. I never let out a lot
Grace POVI don’t know how I allowed myself to get dragged into this by my mother. Of all the people who could have gotten me into following someone to see if they were cheating, my mother was the last person who would pop into my head. I still think this entire thing is ludicrous. How is even possible that my father is having an affair? I start mentally kicking myself as I walk to the town car waiting for me outside my house.I smile at myself, thinking that I finally said it, my house. It’s not just Dash’s house, it’s my house as well. I can’t stop smiling at the thought. After he got me Crow and he broke down declaring himself to me, I have been even more obsessed about him than I was before. Dash is the perfect man, he is a gentleman, and caring, and he really, really, really knows how to please me.“Hey mom,” I say as I enter the car, and when I look at her, I cover my mou
Grace POVI don’t know what my mother is going to do about the entire thing. Hell, I don’t know what to think. I can imagine her. They have been together most of their lives; they were high-school sweethearts, and this is how their marriage is going to end?I look at my reflection in the mirror, trying to push away all the thoughts about my parents and the mistress. I blink several times, trying to adjust my eyes to the contact lenses. I always hated these things. I think they were made by the devil to cause pain and discomfort. There’s no other option. My red dress clings to my body, and I feel like a different person. My hair is up and straight into a sleek ponytail on the top of my head, and my makeup is dark and sensual. The people Dash hired to pamper me really did an amazing job. I never imagined looking at myself in the mirror and seeing someone sensual.“Fuck me sideways
Grace POVAfter the girls begged me to go downstairs with them, I agreed. We all stood in the middle of the dance floor jumping and singing loudly to the songs playing through the system. Everyone seems to be having fun and others having a really good time as they start making out between themselves. I can’t help but smile, reminding myself of what will be waiting for me later. “Hey, I need a drink,” Hannah says, and I nod as I watch her walk to the bar. Hannah’s hips sway as she walks there, and every guy on the dance floor watches as she walks. She really is beautiful. Scratch that, she is a bomb. The blue on her hair is almost neon in here because of the black lights. I focus on Jamie as we dance around and sing loudly until Hannah comes back holding hands with someone. My jaw drops when I see the dress and my heart skips a beat as Amber stands next to Hannah wearing the same red dress the girl that was with my dad was wearing. I frown and she stops smiling looking at me and then
Dash POVSeeing Grace that broke was the hardest thing I have ever seen in my life. There was nothing I could do that would make it better. How could Amber do that to her? Fuck that. How could her father do that to her and her mother?I never cheated on anyone because I have never been in a relationship before, but I always thought that was the most horrible thing a man could do to a woman. That is the thing that would break the trust. I never understood how people could do that. I think if you’re not happy, you should walk away before you break the person’s heart and trust. There’s no need for betrayal.I turn to my side as I watch Grace sleep. Her hair is messy over her pillow and her face. Grace lies on her stomach with her arms hugging the pillow. Her mouth is slightly parted as she breathes and I rub my finger down her cheek, moving the strand of hair falling over her eye.Grace stirs, mo
Dash POV“LET ME GO,” I shout as I move out of Turner’s arms, sprinting up the steps to the glass door that is just made of frame now. The glass is scattered all over the floor. I can hear people screaming and several footsteps running down the stairs while I am trying to walk the opposite way.I can hear Turner behind me shouting for me, but nothing will stop me from getting to Grace. I don’t know if she is okay. My heart is beating fast, so fast I feel like I might have a heart attack for real. The last time I was this terrified was when Jagger disappeared. The fear creeping into my body made me feel impotent.“Move out of my fucking way,” I let out as I try to climb the emergency stairs as people keep running down, blocking me from going up. Why isn’t Grace coming down? I can hear the sirens outside and people shouting to get out and once the last person passed me, I am finally able to run up the stairs.&nbs
Grace POV“What’s with all the sirens?” My mom asks and I look over my shoulder to see several fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars driving down the street. I frown as I watch while we’re sitting at the window of the coffee shop just one block away from my house. Mom asked me to meet her here because she didn’t want to bump into Dash. I think she still hasn’t gotten over the fact he stepped up and saved me when I needed him to. I hadn’t told her it was fake in the beginning. I don’t want to have to explain to her how a man who barely knew me came to my rescue. “I don’t know,” I say as I look at her and she shrugs as she holds her teacup and I watch while my mom becomes half the woman she was. She looks defeated. Her hair is not styled her usual way and even her clothes are not as shiny as usual. It’s like she decided to grieve her relationship and she is wearing all black. I can’t really blame her. After all these years, finding out her husband is cheating on her might be the ha
Grace POV“Grace, wait for me,” Mom says as soon as I stand up from the coffee shop and walk out. I look up and the smoke it clouding the sun and the smell of smoke is terrible. How did I not realize there was something wrong? My legs work on their own as I start running back to the building. Leaving my mother behind, I run down the street and when I reach the street, there are police barriers everywhere. My heart is beating so fast that I think it might stop beating completely. My breathing is erratic and my brain is not working properly. Explosion? Why is Dash back here? He went out. I try to pass the police barrier, but a police officer stops me and starts to lecture me. “I live there, my fiance is looking for me, let me pass,” I say as he holds me by my waist, lifting me from the floor as I try to get him off of me. “My name is Grace Stewart, let me pass,” I shout and then I hear a familiar voice telling the officer to let go of me.“She’s allowed in,” I hear Jagger say and as
Dash POV“Grace, where the fuck is she?” I ask Jagger as I look around the dark room. I can’t even see my brother, but I know he is standing next to me. I can feel his presence. I don’t always have to see him to know he is there. Call it a twin thing. “She has to be here somewhere,” Jagger replies as I move my hands, trying to find the walls. The room is so dark that even when I try to adjust my sight, nothing changes. A loud bang makes me move to the side and I realize a fire door is opened. I walk as fast as my legs allow me, but I am not moving. I frown as I watch Jagger move faster than me and walk out of the dark room, leaving me alone. The door slams closed, and I am left in the darkness once more, but this time I am alone. “Dash,” I hear Grace’s voice call for me and my entire body starts tingling as I smell the smoke again. No the fire. “Grace, you need to get out,” I say, but my words come out muffled. “Dash,” I hear Grace’s voice again and my entire body stiffens and I j
