Just as they were about to enter the conference hall, Charlie whipped out two face masks, passing one to Claire. "Let's wear these. We're not journalists, and we could get recognized."

The press conference had gained considerable attention as it was the first joint project in twenty years for the Ackers and the Wades, so Charlie was sure that the Qing Eliminating Society would be watching too. Since he resembled his father, Curtis, a lot, he needed the disguise to not be recognized.

While Claire wasn't aware of Charlie's actual intention, what he had said was indeed true.

Aurous Hill was a small city, and they really might run into familiar faces. It wouldn't do to be caught blending in amongst journalists.
