Chapter 10: Going to Royal City

Ariana's POV

I sat there with my hands tied and tears streaming down my face. I knew I was being taken to the slaughterhouse. I looked out the tainted window, knowing this was going to be my last view of Pearl City and also the world.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for all wrong and receive my soul as I come to you. Please give me a place where I will be happy.

I prayed in my mind and shifted my gaze to my belly. My tears streamed down my face and fell like droplets into my morning coat. I was still in my sleepwear and only covered up by my morning coat. I said another prayer in my mind for the child growing inside of me.

Lord, receive my little one, too.

I am sorry, little one. Mummy is going to die in a couple of minutes. Forgive me for my inability to protect you. I said in my mind.

The car was soon in motion, and every minute felt like the last I was seeing. We arrived at the airport, and Michael got out of the car, dragging me along. He untied my hand and quickly pressed my face against the side of the car. He moved my hands to my back and tied them behind me.

"This is better," he said and held me by the elbow.

He started dragging me towards the airport. It was at this moment that I saw Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris, walking towards us. I didn't know they had also come to the airport with us. Michael removed the tape from my lips, but my hands remained tied behind me.

"Let's go off me," I said, my voice very strong, even though my eyes were still soaked with tears. I gripped the ground with my foot to make it difficult for him to drag me into the airport.

I was going to die soon anyway. There was no point in looking pitiful. Michael ignored me and continued to drag me effortlessly towards the airport like I was a piece of paper.

Alpha Roland went ahead of us, and I saw him speaking with one of the airport officials. By the time Michael and I got there, Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris, were following the airport official in a specific direction. Michael dragged me in that direction, following Alpha Roland and his beta, Chris.

"Let go of me," I repeated, trying to be difficult.

It was my first time coming to the airport. I had never been there, even though I had lived all my life in Pearl City.

"One more word from you and I will tape your mouth and your nose together," Michael said, without stopping.

Hmm, taping my nose and mouth together. I don't want that. This day will be marked in history as my worst day. And it is ending with my death. My wedding day turned into my saddest day. My fiancé married my best friend. I am pregnant and don't even know how I got pregnant, and I also do not know who the father is.  My landlord wanted me out, and now I have been summoned to my death by Alpha Damien.

We soon entered a room with a glass wall. From the room, I could see the huge tarmac. Some planes were taking off and others were landing. For a couple of minutes, I was mesmerised by the scene, forgetting I was going to die soon at the hands of Alpha Damien.

"You might wanna cuff that one. I have seen her in action before. She beat up a man around the restaurant where she works senseless," I heard Alpha Roland say, snapping me out of my moment and bringing my mind back to the inevitable awaiting me.

Wait, did he say he saw me beat a man senseless? Does it mean he was there three weeks ago? I thought. Was he the one who hit my head? I thought. Did he do something to me? I continued to think, staring at him, but I shook my head.

No, he is a wolf. Humans can't get pregnant by the seed of a wolf. I thought, but if he saw me beat the man, he might as well know what happened that night. I thought and wanted to ask, but restrained myself seeing Michael, and recalling my hands were tied up.

I saw Beta Chris offer Michael a handcuff following Alpha Roland's statement. I stared at Michael staring at the handcuff in Beta Chris's hand, and I could tell from the body language and the sudden change in the atmosphere that they were no friends. Michael sneered.

"I have my wolf now," Michael said, sounding like he was informing Alpha Roland rather than reminding him about it. "So no need for this. She is human, and I am a wolf. I am sure I can handle a stubborn little human," he said, rejecting the handcuff.

"Anyway, thank you for your assistance. I will deliver your message to Alpha Damien. The Quarterly Alpha meeting comes off soon. I will do well to communicate location and time once Alpha Damien decides," Michael said, still holding me by my arms, not at all affected by my little struggle to free myself. He was like a wall.

"Hmm," I heard Alpha Roland say.

Michael dragged me towards the exit, and soon we were out of the glass room. It was just me and Michael now. I figured the two men who had dragged me from my apartment into the car were Alpha Roland's men. And the car also belongs to him.

Michael continued to drag me by my arms. I saw a helicopter a distance away from us, and figured we were going by the helicopter, judging by the direction we were heading. We got to the helicopter, and Michael put me in the helicopter. He untied my hands and secured me in the seat with the seat belt. He sat down next to me and buckled his seat belt.

"If you don't want me to push you out of this helicopter when we are airborne, behave yourself," Michael warned.

Michael was very handsome with green eyes, but he was very angry. I didn't understand his threat. They are going to kill me anyway, so why threaten me with death? I thought, but remained silent.

"Let's go," Michael said to the pilot, and soon, the helicopter was airborne.

It was my first time flying. The feeling was weird. Out of fear, I grabbed Michael's hand while staring out the window on my side. My whole body was trembling, and I became very tense.

"First time flying?" I heard Michael's voice travelled to my ears.

I don't know whether it was my ears deceiving me or my fears got the better of me, but Michael sounded very calm and welcoming this time.

I shifted my gaze to him to be sure he was the same person who had dragged me from my home. It was at this moment that I realised what I had done to his hand. I had bruised his hand with my nails. I was shocked he was calm.

"I am sorry," I quickly apologised, releasing his hand from my grip immediately.

He started healing right before me, and soon, his hand was back to normal like nothing had happened. My eyes widened as I continued to stare at his completely healed hand.

"Never seen a wolf heal before?" Michael asked, staring at me, and I shook my head. "It's normal," he said, moving his gaze away from me.

After that, it was a silent flight to Royal City. I was awake all through the 45-minute flight. My fears of what awaited me increased by the minute.

We soon arrived at Royal City, and Michael dragged me out of the helicopter towards a parked black SUV. My heart started racing faster than before in my chest. My vision became blurry, and next was the feeling of cold air blowing around me.

After that feeling, I could not feel or hear anything again.

Ariana's POV"Damien, you can't take away a girl's virginity and expect another man to accept her like that. If you didn't want to marry her, you should have kept your pants zipped up," I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Victoria, sitting directly opposite us, looking all pitiful."Damien, at first, I wanted to be with you because I like you, but I realised you didn't, so I decided to keep my distance, waiting to see if you like me for me or because of the mate bond. That was why I was mostly not around," I heard Victoria say. "I am sorry for everything I did, I only did them because I loved you. That night, I came into your room after reflecting on what you told me. I wanted to inform you that I was going back home, but you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I may be in the entertainment industry, but I kept myself away from men. Now, you have taken that away from me," she ended her statement in tears. My heart went out to her. I shifted my gaze to Damien, only to find him rolling h

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 54: You Must Take Responsibility

Ariana's POVDamien's proposal left me shocked. Everything was happening so fast, I really couldn't understand. Yes, I liked him when I first saw him, but now, it's like he suddenly cares about me, not because of the pregnancy. And I don't know what kind of cologne he is using now, but I believe it has an aphrodisiac effect. I have never felt this before, to the extent that I can't even control myself. What does he want from me? I thought as we exited the room. What is all this about? I thought. He wouldn't let go of my hand, and it was like he didn't care who saw us walking hand in hand like lovers. With my thoughts trying to figure out what was happening to me, my desires were kept at bay, and I felt normal. We were soon outside, and I wanted to go to the SUV, but he pulled me towards his car, opened the door for me, and I got inside, still wondering what was happening. Inside the car, sitting so close to him, the feeling started again. His scent was so comforting, yet it aroused

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 53: I would Gladly Step Down

Damien's POVI lay on the bed with Ariana sleeping in my arms. I have never felt this way about a woman before. I felt complete with her. She was truly my mate. I stared at the cane injuries on her back and remembered something my mom told me when I was 13 years old. She told me there are healers in her family line. It comes as a blessing, and one lucky child becomes a healer. It sounded so fascinating. An ability to heal others. It was an ability I yearned for. Not because I wanted to be special, but because of my human best friend, Jayson. We met in school. He was always sick. He spends half a day in school and the rest of the day in the hospital. He was unable to participate in any school activities because he would end up having episodes and end up in the hospital. I wanted to be a healer so that I could heal him. I felt so sad when I saw him sitting all alone during fun games. Sometimes, I stop playing and just sit by him, so he won't feel left out. My mom had told me I was a sp

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 52: Unexpected Proposal

Ariana's POVI opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was the ceiling. I shifted my gaze to the side and realised I was alone in bed. I dragged myself into a sitting position, rubbing my eyes. While rubbing my eyes, I recalled the events of the previous night. My attempted escape, the huge beast that caught me mid-air, Damien's confession, the passionate kisses, and finally sleeping in Damien's arms. My eyes scanned the entire room for anything that would prove Damien was here or that he was still around, but I found nothing. My eyes fell on a covered tray sitting on the table. Surprisingly, I felt better and stronger. I looked down at myself, and I was still in the patient gown with my back exposed. I reached for my back and I didn't feel any pain, like before. To get a confirmation of how my back looked now, I got out of bed and walked to the standing mirror in the room. I looked at my back, and the wounds had healed. All that was left were scars. I stared at my back in total sh

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 51: Dream or Reality?

Ariana's POVI felt the wind blowing around me as I fell fast towards the ground. I thought of Jeremy; if not for this pregnancy, we would be married, and I could be expecting his child. Damien also came to mind, he is so different from the man he was rumoured to be. But, I guess, it was because I was carrying his child. For some reason, I hoped he would save me from dying again, like he did at the mining site. I closed my eyes and waited for my body to crash into the solid ground, but something caught me. A huge beast, and next, darkness engulfed me, resulting from fear. I opened my eyes again, and I was in the room where I attempted my escape. I was lying on my side on the bed, and staring at me was Damien. I stared back at him. I was helplessly drawn to him, but I remained still on the bed."You attempted to run away by jumping out of the window. Had I not arrived here on time, you would have died," Damien said to me. "Don't ever try this again," he added, and I nodded. His voice

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 50: Confession

Damien's POV"Damien, Dad is here, and he came with Victoria," Eve reported. I frowned. "Tell him, I have an emergency at the hospital. I will come over to his place in the morning," I said, having an idea why he wants to see me, and I was not ready to talk."Damien, I don't care about whatever emergency you have at that nonsense hospital. I want to see you right this minute," my father yelled into the phone."Dad, the hospital is my business. I can't let it go down because of a petty squabble," I said calmly over the phone. "Petty squabble? Damien, I am warning you," I heard my father say, his voice sounding like he had his teeth clenched.I turned and stared at Ariana, lying on her side on the bed. I felt she would make another attempt to leave if I left her alone. I can understand that she is scared for her life. A human caught up in the fight among wolves, I can understand. I need to protect her, now that I know she is my mate. And the beneficiary of my sister's heart."Dad, I b
