Ariana's POV
I drifted in and out of consciousness. There was a lot of noise around me, but I didn't know where the noise was coming from. My body was drowning in pain, but I couldn't do anything about it. I felt movement, but couldn't tell exactly what was happening around me. I saw a light flash into my eyes. My head ached and my stomach hurt, yet I couldn't move my body. It was like I was outside my body, except I couldn't see what was happening aside from the feeling I was getting.
I was unsure what was happening, but I knew I was lying on something with tyres, because I felt it move. The feeling was brief, and I couldn't feel it again. The pain I was feeling was equally gone. The environment was very quiet. I didn't know how long it took, but I was able to open my eyes, and I realised I was lying on a bed. I quickly recalled I had fallen on the staircase.
"My baby," I cried, removed the blanket, and pulled myself up to sit.
I was hit with a headache, causing me to touch my head. I remembered my baby and ignored the pain in my head.
"My baby," I cried, touching my belly, not sure what I was looking to feel as evidence that my baby was still there.
"The baby is fine," I heard the familiar voice.
I shifted my gaze in the direction of the voice and was surprised to find Damien standing at the foot of the bed. I wondered when and how long he had been standing there. The environment was unfamiliar. If I am here, it could only mean one thing: he brought me here.
"You saved me?" I asked, feeling calm after being told my baby was okay.
"What were you thinking, dropping yourself on the staircase like that?" Damien asked coldly. "Never try this again, you hear me? If anything happens to my pups, I will kill you slowly," he threatened, staring at me coldly.
"This is my child, too. Why would I want to harm my flesh and blood?" I asked, annoyed by his statement.
"I don't care what you think. If you endanger yourself like this again, I will punish you," he warned, his gaze very cold.
He asked if I had eaten, switching from a terror to a concerned person. I replied no, and he asked why. I explained to him, I didn't want to be late on my first day at work and annoy him. He became furious again and warned me never to do that again. Just then, Michael entered. He whispered something into Damien's ears, and I saw the expression on Damien's face change. I read the surprise look registered on Damien's face. He exited the room with Michael.
I sat on the bed, wondering what Michael had told him. I raised my head and felt my head. There was a bandage around my head. I touched it and felt a sharp pain when I reached the back of my head. I put my hand down. I looked around, wondering where I was.
Am I back in the mansion? I thought. Did he leave work just to bring me home to the mansion? I thought. Is this Damien's bedroom? I thought, scanning the place.
My hand was still resting on my belly. I saw the door open, and Michael entered.
"Alpha asked me to keep an eye on you," he said.
"It was your fault I fell on the staircase," I accused, and Michael frowned.
"How?" Michael questioned. "I was nowhere near the staircase," he said.
"The cafeteria was inside the building. You sent me out to the street. I came back, and the coffee was cold. I had to go get a new cup of coffee. If you had not directed me to the street, I would have gotten the coffee on time, and it wouldn't be cold. The accident wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had to go get another cup of coffee," I replied.
"Sorry," Michael apologised, to my surprise.
He didn't argue with me, and also didn't question why I was disrespecting his position as Alpha Damien's beta. I also decided not to drag the issue any further.
"Apology accepted," I replied. "Where am I?" I asked, trying to confirm if I am indeed in Damien's bedroom.
Michael opened his mouth to answer, but we both heard the door open. Dr Francis entered. He walked up to Michael and whispered into his ear. Michael exited the room immediately, and Dr Francis walked up to me.
"You remember me, Dr Francis," he said with a smile, and I just stared at him. "You had an accident. You are in the hospital. How are you feeling?" he asked, and my eyes widened.
Which hospital ward is this? It looks like someone's luxurious bedroom. I thought.
"Do you feel pain anywhere?" Dr Francis asked.
"Just my head," I replied.
"You need to rest. You are exhausted due to the pregnancy. I will give you something to help you rest," he said and pulled a syringe from his coat pocket.
It was already filled.
"Why is it already filled? I thought you guys put everything in a tray. What is going on? What are you going to do to me?" I asked, my fears evident in my voice and my actions.
"It's just a sedative to help you sleep. You are carrying Alpha Damien's pups. I can't harm you. He would kill me if anything happens to the pups," Dr Francis said, and I read the honesty in his voice.
I knew Damien cared about the child growing inside me. He was angry with me for not eating. I calmed myself, knowing Dr Francis was not going to do anything that would harm me because of the child.
He injected me, and in a couple of minutes, I started drifting off to sleep. I am not sure how long I was asleep, but I heard voices. I couldn't hear clearly what they were saying, but the place went quiet again. When I opened my eyes, Damien was in my room again. I tried to get up, but I felt weak. Dr Francis came in and examined me. I heard him say something about the sedative making me feel that way. He exited the room, and Damien carried me in his arms.
I rested my head on his chest. His chest was firm, and his arms felt very strong. I inhaled his scent, and I loved it. I was weak, but I enjoyed being in his arms. He exited the room and used the elevator. Soon, we were outside, and he got into the car. He held me protectively in his arms, and I loved the feeling that gave me. I stayed in his arms, enjoying the moment. The journey to the house felt too short while I was enjoying being in Damien's arms.
As soon as the car was parked, he called Michael and asked Michael to come for me. Michael carried me, and I was annoyed within. I didn't like Michael carrying me, but I didn't have a say. Unlike when Damien carried me, I only rested my right arm around Michael's neck and held my head on my neck. Even though I was feeling drowsy, I didn't rest my head on Michael's chest like I did with Damien, and I also couldn't feel comfortable relaxing in his arms. I preferred being in Damien's arms.
Back in Pearl City, the only thing I know about Damien is the monster he is, but seeing him, I feel both comfortable and scared at the same time around him. He is too charming. I know I have fallen for him within a matter of 48 hours of meeting him. Don't blame me, the guy is too attractive. Too handsome. Oh gosh, when he carried me, I could feel the strength of his arms, the dimension of his firm chest, I was dying to feel under my palm, but I couldn't touch him like that, that would be weird. So I rested my head on his chest. I was weak, but I could sit on my own without having to lean on him, but I leaned on him just to satisfy an inner desire. I knew I liked him, but I was scared of him at the same time. From what I have heard about what he does to humans, I knew the only thing preventing him from treating me the same way was his child growing inside me.
He is a werewolf, and I am human; there can never be a relationship between us. He hates humans, and I know it. The only reason I am still alive, even though I am human, is the child inside me, yet I am helplessly drawn to him.
I have nine months, I will enjoy the moment for a while, and leave before this child is born. I know he will end my life like all the other humans as soon as this child is out of me. I thought, my eyes fixated on Damien all this while.
The elevator door opened on the 8th floor, and Damien stepped out first, followed by Michael, who was carrying me. We walked to the front door, and as soon as we opened the door into the apartment, I saw four bags.
"Hey brother, you finally came home," I heard the voice of a man say.
Brother? I repeated in my mind, and shifted my gaze to see who had spoken. I saw a man and two ladies. I already knew Eve, I didn't know the man and the other lady, but Damien didn't look happy. I got scared. The whole family was here.
What does that mean for me? I thought.
Ariana's POVI was unsure when sleep took over, but when I opened my eyes, my gaze fell on Damien's back. He was all dressed up. I don't know if it was my movement or if he was already about to turn around."You are finally awake," he said, walking towards me.I pulled myself to sit on the bed. My back was now resting on the bed headboard. Damien sat on the edge of the bed. He only had on a shirt and black trousers. His tie was secured with a tie pin, and it was lying perfectly on his white shirt. He planted a kiss on my forehead, and I just smiled."Something came up, so we are not going to the office today. We are going somewhere else," Damien said, and I frowned."Where are we going?" I asked, and he smiled at me."Let's just say, we have important work to do at another location. So, you take a shower, get dressed, and we will leave after breakfast," Damien said, and his gaze shifted to my belly. "How are you doing, my little one?" he asked. He reached to touch my belly, but he pau
Ariana's POVThe day slowly came to a close, and Damien wouldn't let me do anything. He made me sit on the couch all day, and he cancelled the rest of his meetings for the day and stayed inside the office with me, working. Michael got us lunch and we ate sitting behind the dining table inside his office. "And the last one for the day," I heard Damien say and I raised my head to stare at him.He smiled at me from across his desk, and I smiled back. I just found a game on my phone and I was playing it. Damien joined me on the couch and planted a kiss on my head, like I was a little girl."You got bored?" he asked me, and I shifted my gaze to him."A little, but I found this game. It kept me busy," I replied, and he stared at me with a smile plastered on his face."Why are you smiling?" I asked, smiling too."Don't talk, just hold still," he said and continued to stare."Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked again after what feels like a minute. His stare was beginning to have a
Ariana's POVJeremy took me into a small room full of boxes. He had told me the room was a place where the company kept items it no longer needed. He told me he brought me there so we could talk. He was ready to listen to me now. I told him everything about how I got pregnant and even told him who the father of my child was. I realised he was finding it hard to believe. He just accepted it and asked me if I wanted us to get back together. When he asked me that question, it got me thinking. I am married to Damien, and he said I am his fated mate. He finds me easily, like he has a tracker on me. Damien hates humans, but he doesn't hate me. After seeing the trouble I was going to face, as his wife, I wanted to leave. I don't know how we got married, but if his father said the marriage had been annulled, I thought it was the best time to leave, but hearing Jeremy ask, I feared what Damien would do to him if I left with him."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could g
Jeremy's POV"Would you take me back, knowing I am carrying Alpha Damien's child?" Ariana asked me, and I stared at her, wondering what she took me for. This girl must think I am stupid. She wants me to take her back. I thought. But come to think of it, why would she say Alpha Damien is responsible? I thought, but it quickly hit me. There was no way I could confirm her story. Wow! Ariana, you are smart with your lies. I thought, but I kept a straight face. I will play along till I get her in my bed."You are my woman, and I still love you," I said. "My only problem is, it's Alpha Damien we are talking about. How do I hide you from him?" I asked, trying to see if she had already planned a way to escape, whoever the father of the child she is carrying is. She went silent. I patiently waited, believing she was thinking of something."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could get back together. But he always finds me. It doesn't matter where I am. He finds me. I don't
Jeremy's POVI was still mad at Ariana for cheating on me, but seeing her again, I wish I had never married Melody. It's only been four days since I started working in the company, and I have had the opportunity to see Ariana twice. She looked more beautiful than before. Even though I wished I had never married Melody, there was nothing I could do about it. She was already six weeks pregnant, and I am responsible. That mistake I made six weeks ago, allowing my desire to take the better of me.This was all Ariana's fault. If she had allowed me to touch her, instead of playing Virgin Mary, waiting to be married before, I wouldn't have yielded to Melody's seduction. That day, I was horny. I went to Ariana, and she was not ready. I left the apartment to cool off at a nearby club, and that was when I ran into Melody. I had always known, Melody's fight with Ariana was just because she liked me, but I was with Ariana. Melody did attempt to drug me, but I saw it, so I didn't take that drink
Ariana's POV"Damien, you can't take away a girl's virginity and expect another man to accept her like that. If you didn't want to marry her, you should have kept your pants zipped up," I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Victoria, sitting directly opposite us, looking all pitiful."Damien, at first, I wanted to be with you because I like you, but I realised you didn't, so I decided to keep my distance, waiting to see if you like me for me or because of the mate bond. That was why I was mostly not around," I heard Victoria say. "I am sorry for everything I did, I only did them because I loved you. That night, I came into your room after reflecting on what you told me. I wanted to inform you that I was going back home, but you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I may be in the entertainment industry, but I kept myself away from men. Now, you have taken that away from me," she ended her statement in tears. My heart went out to her. I shifted my gaze to Damien, only to find him rolling h
