Damien's POV
"Yes, Alpha," Michael replied.
Michael turned to walk away. I knew he was going to make some calls. He had just gotten to the exit when I stopped him with my words.
"Michael, I want to do it myself. Put them in the basement, and quickly find me a replacement," I said.
"Yes, alpha," Michael replied and exited the warehouse.
I shifted my gaze to Dr Francis. He was on his knees, bent over Ariana on the ground. I saw he had dressed her wounds and put some bandage on them.
"Are my pups alright?" I asked, staring at him.
"From a physical examination, it appears so," Dr Francis replied, and I frowned.
"What do you mean? Are you by your statement saying, they could be in danger?" I asked, furrowing my brow.
"I am not saying anything in that regard. I was only able to do a physical examination, and everything is fine. I would have to run some tests if I want to know more," Dr Francis replied, staring at me while still kneeling next to Ariana, and I replied with a hmm.
"She appears to have lost a lot of blood, though," Dr Francis added.
"Would she need a blood transfusion?" I asked, getting scared she might lose my pups because of that.
"It doesn't look like it," Dr Francis replied and shifted his gaze back to Ariana, who was still unconscious. "She has exhibited all the signs of blood loss, yet her heart is still strong. For a human, that is strange," he concluded, staring at Ariana.
"Are there chances, she is a wolfless she-wolf?" I asked curiously.
"No, she is not a she-wolf. At least the report from her thorough lab test shows she is human," Dr Francis said and shifted his gaze to me.
"But," I said, urging him to continue. His statement conotes there was something more he found out about her and I wanted to know.
"I am not too sure. It could be a faulty machine. I will have to investigate further. I need to be sure," He replied and I frowned.
"What did you find?" I asked, my voice deep and laced with impatience.
"Her heart is strange for a human," he replied, and my frown deepened.
"What do you mean?" I asked, my ears itching to know.
It was already strange, a human was pregnant from my seed. Something that will explain how that happened will make more sense to me, and that is what I wanted to know.
"She is human, but she has a heart of a...," Dr Francis began, but couldn't complete his statement and we both heard a loud thunder, making us both look up at the ceiling.
The thunder was followed by a violent wind and showers of rain. Michael rushed back in immediately, while Dr Francis stood to his feet.
"Alpha, I don't think we can go back to town now," Michael reported.
"Alpha, her clothes are torn. She will get cold, lying on the ground like that," Dr Francis said.
"Michael, get me the key to the restroom," I said to Michael, and he quickly moved to one of the cabinets.
He returned with the key, and Ariana was moved to the restroom. I carried her myself to the restroom. We found some jumpsuits to cover her, so she doesn't get cold.
"Will she wake up anytime soon?" I asked, seeing beads of sweat forming on Ariana's forehead.
"It's hard to tell," Dr Francis replied, while we both stood by the bed.
"Why is she sweating?" I asked.
"She is getting a fever. I am sure is a post-traumatic reaction to what happened to her. Those marks look like," he began, and I cut in.
"I know. She was attacked by some rogue wolves," I replied. "Stay here and take care of her," I said and exited the restroom.
I went to the office, and Michael found a place to stay, while we waited for the rain to subside. I left my phone behind, so I knew no one would be able to reach me directly except through Michael. I have also warned him not to let my family get wind of what was happening, so I knew I would appear missing for a while. At least till we return to town.
I sat down and rested my head on the table. There was nothing to do, so I decided to rest while we waited for the stormy rain to stop. Shifting into my wolf and back, the injury to my head was completely healed.
I heard a knock on the door. I invited the person in, thinking it was either Michael or Dr Francis, but no one entered. The knock came again, but this time louder than previous.
"What stupid game is that?" I growled, stood up from behind my desk and went to the door.
I opened it and to my surprise, there was no one behind it. I called out to Michael and Dr Francis, but I was met with silence. The storm was loud, so I can understand they didn't hear me calling. I came out of the office and found Michael sitting with his head hanging on the backrest of one of the trucks. I went to the restroom, and Dr Francis was sitting with his head resting on the side of the bed Ariana was sleeping on. Ariana was still not awake.
I exited the room without waking any of them. I was wondering who had come to knock, if they were all sleeping. I returned to the office and pushed the door open. I frowned at what I saw. Someone was standing close to the window with her back facing me. She was wearing a long white dress and had long, waist-length brunette hair cascading behind her with heavy curls. That's exactly how Ariana's hair looked like.
"Who are you? And how did you get in here?" I questioned, and the person turned around, but her face was too bright for me to see.
"I am your true mate," The strange woman said
I blinked, and she was now standing in front of me, but still, her face was something I could not see. My vision became blurry. Even though my vision was blurred, I did see the ring of gold light that bonded us when she reached for my hand.
"I am your true mate," she repeated, her voice sounding ghostly.
"Victoria?" I called out her name.
"I am your true mate," She repeated.
Even though I couldn't see her face, she didn't look anything like Victoria. I blinked again, and she vanished, but I could still hear her voice saying I am your true mate.
I turned around following the sound of her voice and found myself standing under an olive tree. I scanned the whole place and realised I was standing in a garden.
How did I get here was the only thought on my mind as I looked around, wondering where I was. A bright light shone from the sky and hit the earth. I shielded my eyes from the light. After the light, I saw the moon goddess standing before me.
"Moon goddess," I whispered.
"Olive tree stands for peace, but you are in bondage. Only your true mate can set you free. Open your eyes, Damien. Do the needful. She is with you now," the moon goddess said and vanished.
I shifted my gaze to the beautiful olive tree. I walked towards it and tried to pluck one of the leaves, but I couldn't. It was like something was stopping me from plucking the leaves. While I was trying to pluck a leaf of the olive tree with no success, something passed by in a flash.
I quickly turned around to find out what it was. My eyes searched the entire garden. My gaze fell on someone lying in the grass a distance away. I frowned and began to walk towards the person, abandoning my decision to pluck the leaf of the olive tree. I got close, and it was a woman. She was lying face down, but I recognised her as the same woman who came to me in my office. Her back was completely exposed, and it was covered in bruises as if someone had lashed her. At her lower waist, I saw what looked like a birthmark, but it also looked like a tattoo. The mark looked like three olive leaves put together, where one lay on the other.
I frowned. I bent over and tried to see her face by turning her over, but I heard an irritating noise distracting me. I turned around to find out what it was, only to wake up to the sound of the clock striking 4 p.m.
This is all a dream, I thought. But what does it mean, and who is the lady? I thought.
I have never seen Victoria's bare back before. I wondered if she was the one I saw in my dream.
"Does the moon goddess want me to marry Victoria asap?" I whispered to myself, and a light flashed into my office from outside.
It was quickly followed by a thunderstorm.
Ariana's POVThe day slowly came to a close, and Damien wouldn't let me do anything. He made me sit on the couch all day, and he cancelled the rest of his meetings for the day and stayed inside the office with me, working. Michael got us lunch and we ate sitting behind the dining table inside his office. "And the last one for the day," I heard Damien say and I raised my head to stare at him.He smiled at me from across his desk, and I smiled back. I just found a game on my phone and I was playing it. Damien joined me on the couch and planted a kiss on my head, like I was a little girl."You got bored?" he asked me, and I shifted my gaze to him."A little, but I found this game. It kept me busy," I replied, and he stared at me with a smile plastered on his face."Why are you smiling?" I asked, smiling too."Don't talk, just hold still," he said and continued to stare."Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked again after what feels like a minute. His stare was beginning to have a
Ariana's POVJeremy took me into a small room full of boxes. He had told me the room was a place where the company kept items it no longer needed. He told me he brought me there so we could talk. He was ready to listen to me now. I told him everything about how I got pregnant and even told him who the father of my child was. I realised he was finding it hard to believe. He just accepted it and asked me if I wanted us to get back together. When he asked me that question, it got me thinking. I am married to Damien, and he said I am his fated mate. He finds me easily, like he has a tracker on me. Damien hates humans, but he doesn't hate me. After seeing the trouble I was going to face, as his wife, I wanted to leave. I don't know how we got married, but if his father said the marriage had been annulled, I thought it was the best time to leave, but hearing Jeremy ask, I feared what Damien would do to him if I left with him."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could g
Jeremy's POV"Would you take me back, knowing I am carrying Alpha Damien's child?" Ariana asked me, and I stared at her, wondering what she took me for. This girl must think I am stupid. She wants me to take her back. I thought. But come to think of it, why would she say Alpha Damien is responsible? I thought, but it quickly hit me. There was no way I could confirm her story. Wow! Ariana, you are smart with your lies. I thought, but I kept a straight face. I will play along till I get her in my bed."You are my woman, and I still love you," I said. "My only problem is, it's Alpha Damien we are talking about. How do I hide you from him?" I asked, trying to see if she had already planned a way to escape, whoever the father of the child she is carrying is. She went silent. I patiently waited, believing she was thinking of something."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could get back together. But he always finds me. It doesn't matter where I am. He finds me. I don't
Jeremy's POVI was still mad at Ariana for cheating on me, but seeing her again, I wish I had never married Melody. It's only been four days since I started working in the company, and I have had the opportunity to see Ariana twice. She looked more beautiful than before. Even though I wished I had never married Melody, there was nothing I could do about it. She was already six weeks pregnant, and I am responsible. That mistake I made six weeks ago, allowing my desire to take the better of me.This was all Ariana's fault. If she had allowed me to touch her, instead of playing Virgin Mary, waiting to be married before, I wouldn't have yielded to Melody's seduction. That day, I was horny. I went to Ariana, and she was not ready. I left the apartment to cool off at a nearby club, and that was when I ran into Melody. I had always known, Melody's fight with Ariana was just because she liked me, but I was with Ariana. Melody did attempt to drug me, but I saw it, so I didn't take that drink
Ariana's POV"Damien, you can't take away a girl's virginity and expect another man to accept her like that. If you didn't want to marry her, you should have kept your pants zipped up," I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Victoria, sitting directly opposite us, looking all pitiful."Damien, at first, I wanted to be with you because I like you, but I realised you didn't, so I decided to keep my distance, waiting to see if you like me for me or because of the mate bond. That was why I was mostly not around," I heard Victoria say. "I am sorry for everything I did, I only did them because I loved you. That night, I came into your room after reflecting on what you told me. I wanted to inform you that I was going back home, but you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I may be in the entertainment industry, but I kept myself away from men. Now, you have taken that away from me," she ended her statement in tears. My heart went out to her. I shifted my gaze to Damien, only to find him rolling h
Ariana's POVDamien's proposal left me shocked. Everything was happening so fast, I really couldn't understand. Yes, I liked him when I first saw him, but now, it's like he suddenly cares about me, not because of the pregnancy. And I don't know what kind of cologne he is using now, but I believe it has an aphrodisiac effect. I have never felt this before, to the extent that I can't even control myself. What does he want from me? I thought as we exited the room. What is all this about? I thought. He wouldn't let go of my hand, and it was like he didn't care who saw us walking hand in hand like lovers. With my thoughts trying to figure out what was happening to me, my desires were kept at bay, and I felt normal. We were soon outside, and I wanted to go to the SUV, but he pulled me towards his car, opened the door for me, and I got inside, still wondering what was happening. Inside the car, sitting so close to him, the feeling started again. His scent was so comforting, yet it aroused
