Ariana's POV

I opened my eyes and found myself on a bed. I quickly sat up. With the curtain drawn, I couldn't tell if it was morning, night or day. I shifted my gaze in the direction of the clock, and it was 7 p.m.

What day is it? I thought, as I wondered how I got back to the mansion.

There was a bandage on my hand and a cut-out square shape plastered on my right side. I touched it and it hurt a little. I pulled myself to the edge of the bed and put my feet down.

I recalled what happened at the mining site after I was left behind.

I was looking for a place to hide just in case the rain starts to pour.

I walked towards the mountain, hoping there was a place to hide. Just a distance away from the mountain, I saw this vicious wolf, about the size of a lion, growling, while taking slow steps towards me. I froze in my steps and briefly looked back. It was an empty street. There was no way I could outrun this wolf. I had no other alternative, so I started walking backwards, while the wolf continued to advance towards me. I turned around and started running, screaming for help. I looked back briefly, and the wolf was just walking towards me. I returned my gaze only to find another wolf on the street in front of me, growling and walking towards me. I was now in the middle of two wolves. I ran towards the mining grounds where I had pulled Damien. The two wolves launched forward and started running after me. I manoeuvred my way and ended up behind the mountain. I found a branch of a tree lying on the ground and I picked it up. I hide beneath the mountain behind a huge rock that has formed something like a small cave, hoping they will not find me. My heart raced in my chest. With one hand, I was holding the branch of the tree, and my other hand covered my mouth to prevent a sound from escaping. I stayed there for a while, and just when I thought they had left because they couldn't find me, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. I let out a painful cry, and I quickly shifted my gaze in that direction, only to find the paws of the wolf trying to reach out to me, behind the stone, where I was hiding. I tried to move away and slipped, falling flat on my side. The wolf threw its paws at me again and ended up scratching my side, tearing my dress in the process. I cried out in pain as my dress was quickly soaked in blood. I pushed myself out from behind the rock, using the other exit. I was in pain, but I couldn't stop to relax. I started screaming again. After exiting the small cave formed by the huge rock and the mountain, I got up and was about to run when the wolf came from around the rock I was hiding behind. The other wolf joined in, approaching from in front of me. I was now standing with my back facing the mountain, holding up the tree branch, and these two dirty-looking wolves were now facing me. One to my left, and the other to my right. I had nowhere to run as they had cornered me. I was not sure how long I had been running away from these wolves.

"Get away from me," I yelled, swinging the tree branch at the vicious-looking wolves growling at me.

I was still taking some steps backwards until there was no more space behind me. I screamed one more time for help, hoping someone would hear me, even though it didn't seem like someone would come to my rescue.

"Get away from me," I cried one more time and another wolf, jump onto the scene.

The wolf was three times bigger than the wolves trying to attack. It was almost the size of a bear. It stood in front of me, facing the two wolves who were trying to attack me. Next, I saw it attacking those wolves. I seized the opportunity and started running away. It was a terrible battle between them as the wolves fought each other. I didn't have time to watch, I kept running. Just when I thought I had put some distance between myself and the wolves, the huge-looking wolf jumped in front of me. I screamed my lungs out, and darkness covered me.

We leave among wolves, but I have never seen any man shift into a wolf before. I know there were real wolves and werewolves. If I am back here, it could only mean, the giant wolf came there to save me. Meaning that the wolf was a werewolf.

Was that Damien? I thought, but quickly shook my head, recalling that Damien had an accident. Maybe is Michael. I concluded, also recalling Michael was not at the scene when the accident happened, and was also not there when Damien was taken away by his girlfriend and father.

I touched my bandaged hand, and my mind went to the clothes I was wearing. My eyes widened.

Did Michael change me, or Miriam? I thought, staring at the clothes I was wearing.

I recalled I was dirty running around the mining site, going to hide behind the rock under the mountain, dragging myself out, after getting wounded, and getting blood stains as I was bleeding from the scratch from the wolf.

Who bathes me? I thought, and my door opened.

Miriam walked in with her usual frown. I wondered if that is how her face naturally looked, or if it was my presence that triggered that face.

"Did you bathe and change me?" I asked as she walked towards the table carrying a tray of food.

"No, I did," I heard a familiar voice, and shifted my gaze to the open door to find Eve standing there with one hand holding the door.

I breathed a sigh of relief, and Eve scoffed.

"Hold it there, sweetie," Eve said and walked, heading for my bed. "Who did you think bathe and changed you, reason you had that terrified expression on your face?" she asked, and sat down next to me.

"I am going back to the kitchen," Miriam said.

"Thank you, Miriam," Eve said, and Miriam exited the room.

"I thought one of the guys did," I replied, lowering my head, and Eve laughed.

"No," Eve replied, smiling. "Michael came to call me, to help you bathe and change. You were unconscious, but the doctor assured us you would wake up," she said.

"Thank you," I appreciated.

"You are welcome," Eve said. "You might have an alpha blood running through you. With what happened to you and how long you stayed there unable to heal immediately, you will have died," she said and I wondered what she was talking about.

I am human. How did I get an alpha blood running through me? I thought and began to wonder if Michael gave me his blood to save me.

"Eat your food and get some rest," Eve said, tapping me on my thigh, before standing up.

"How is Damien. I mean, Alpha Damien?" I asked, and Eve stopped in her tracks.

"He is fine," she replied after slowly turning around to look at me.

"You care about him?" Eve asked,

"Prrt," I scoffed. "No," I said, my voice almost a high pitch. "I mean, yes, but not in that kind of way," I explained. "He is my boss, I care, like every employee would," I further explained, and Eve smiled at me.

"Hey, my brother is quite a catch. I would have pursued him myself if we weren't blood-related. It's okay to crush on him, but don't take it too far; you would get hurt," Eve advises. "Look at it this way, my brother is a robot who can't reciprocate feelings. He has a mate, and he can't even love her. He has never even kissed her," she said, whispering the last bit of her statement to me.

I raised my eyebrow, staring at her. She winked at me and started walking away.

"Eat and rest, and don't think so much about that heartless person. He can handle himself fine," Eve said and exited my room closing the door behind her.

Ariana, get a grip on yourself he has someone. You already know, he hates humans. I thought and stood up from my bed, heading for the table.

I uncovered the food, and it was soup. Fish carrot soup. At least, they brought me something a human would eat. I sat down and grabbed the spoon. I tasted it and it wasn't that great, but I didn't have an option. I was hungry, so I began scooping the soup into my mouth.

"So, you are the one who wants to kill my mate," I heard a voice say after my door was violently opened.

I turned around in my chair, only to find Damien's mate standing at the widely opened door with her arms crossed over her chest, staring at me angrily.

Ariana's POVThe day slowly came to a close, and Damien wouldn't let me do anything. He made me sit on the couch all day, and he cancelled the rest of his meetings for the day and stayed inside the office with me, working. Michael got us lunch and we ate sitting behind the dining table inside his office. "And the last one for the day," I heard Damien say and I raised my head to stare at him.He smiled at me from across his desk, and I smiled back. I just found a game on my phone and I was playing it. Damien joined me on the couch and planted a kiss on my head, like I was a little girl."You got bored?" he asked me, and I shifted my gaze to him."A little, but I found this game. It kept me busy," I replied, and he stared at me with a smile plastered on his face."Why are you smiling?" I asked, smiling too."Don't talk, just hold still," he said and continued to stare."Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked again after what feels like a minute. His stare was beginning to have a

Ariana's POVJeremy took me into a small room full of boxes. He had told me the room was a place where the company kept items it no longer needed. He told me he brought me there so we could talk. He was ready to listen to me now. I told him everything about how I got pregnant and even told him who the father of my child was. I realised he was finding it hard to believe. He just accepted it and asked me if I wanted us to get back together. When he asked me that question, it got me thinking. I am married to Damien, and he said I am his fated mate. He finds me easily, like he has a tracker on me. Damien hates humans, but he doesn't hate me. After seeing the trouble I was going to face, as his wife, I wanted to leave. I don't know how we got married, but if his father said the marriage had been annulled, I thought it was the best time to leave, but hearing Jeremy ask, I feared what Damien would do to him if I left with him."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could g

Jeremy's POV"Would you take me back, knowing I am carrying Alpha Damien's child?" Ariana asked me, and I stared at her, wondering what she took me for. This girl must think I am stupid. She wants me to take her back. I thought. But come to think of it, why would she say Alpha Damien is responsible? I thought, but it quickly hit me. There was no way I could confirm her story. Wow! Ariana, you are smart with your lies. I thought, but I kept a straight face. I will play along till I get her in my bed."You are my woman, and I still love you," I said. "My only problem is, it's Alpha Damien we are talking about. How do I hide you from him?" I asked, trying to see if she had already planned a way to escape, whoever the father of the child she is carrying is. She went silent. I patiently waited, believing she was thinking of something."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could get back together. But he always finds me. It doesn't matter where I am. He finds me. I don't

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 56: It's Too Late - Part 1

Jeremy's POVI was still mad at Ariana for cheating on me, but seeing her again, I wish I had never married Melody. It's only been four days since I started working in the company, and I have had the opportunity to see Ariana twice. She looked more beautiful than before. Even though I wished I had never married Melody, there was nothing I could do about it. She was already six weeks pregnant, and I am responsible. That mistake I made six weeks ago, allowing my desire to take the better of me.This was all Ariana's fault. If she had allowed me to touch her, instead of playing Virgin Mary, waiting to be married before, I wouldn't have yielded to Melody's seduction. That day, I was horny. I went to Ariana, and she was not ready. I left the apartment to cool off at a nearby club, and that was when I ran into Melody. I had always known, Melody's fight with Ariana was just because she liked me, but I was with Ariana. Melody did attempt to drug me, but I saw it, so I didn't take that drink

Ariana's POV"Damien, you can't take away a girl's virginity and expect another man to accept her like that. If you didn't want to marry her, you should have kept your pants zipped up," I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Victoria, sitting directly opposite us, looking all pitiful."Damien, at first, I wanted to be with you because I like you, but I realised you didn't, so I decided to keep my distance, waiting to see if you like me for me or because of the mate bond. That was why I was mostly not around," I heard Victoria say. "I am sorry for everything I did, I only did them because I loved you. That night, I came into your room after reflecting on what you told me. I wanted to inform you that I was going back home, but you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I may be in the entertainment industry, but I kept myself away from men. Now, you have taken that away from me," she ended her statement in tears. My heart went out to her. I shifted my gaze to Damien, only to find him rolling h

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 54: You Must Take Responsibility

Ariana's POVDamien's proposal left me shocked. Everything was happening so fast, I really couldn't understand. Yes, I liked him when I first saw him, but now, it's like he suddenly cares about me, not because of the pregnancy. And I don't know what kind of cologne he is using now, but I believe it has an aphrodisiac effect. I have never felt this before, to the extent that I can't even control myself. What does he want from me? I thought as we exited the room. What is all this about? I thought. He wouldn't let go of my hand, and it was like he didn't care who saw us walking hand in hand like lovers. With my thoughts trying to figure out what was happening to me, my desires were kept at bay, and I felt normal. We were soon outside, and I wanted to go to the SUV, but he pulled me towards his car, opened the door for me, and I got inside, still wondering what was happening. Inside the car, sitting so close to him, the feeling started again. His scent was so comforting, yet it aroused
