Keira's pov

I sniffed the pretty rose flowers as I walked down the pathway, lined with different flowers.

It was a cool beautiful evening, the perfect time for a walk and with Callum taking care of some pack business I had nothing to do.

I mused on how my life had changed drastically in a span of a month and what a wonderful month it has been.

Everyone at Callum's pack was warm and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable in their pack and so far no one had questioned me on why they had never seen me transform.

Callum was a whole different issue and I blushed at the mere thought of him.

The man was built to be a sex machine, to give unthinkable heights of pleasure. I couldn't, however, stop wondering why he chose to lie to everyone about being crippled.

The man he was once we were alone was anything but crippled or with any disability.

I wondered what his reasons were and I realized that I knew absolutely nothing about my husband except his sexual appetite.

A hand grabbed my wrist and pulled me sharply behind a tree and before I could scream a hand was placed over my mouth.

My eyes met familiar hazel ones and I gasped as the hand slowly dropped away from my mouth only to be covered with his lips.

Asher kissed me with such force I feared my lips would bruise.

Kisses I once enjoyed now seemed bland and sorely lacking, thanks to Callum, and I pushed him away.

My traitorous mind compared the two and I shook my head as Asher came out, sorely lacking.

He didn't make me burn with desire or go mad with need but he was my sweet, caring and protective Asher.

"What are you doing here Asher?" I questioned as he stared down at me.

"You aren't happy to see me." He deadpanned and I swallowed.

"Of course I'm happy to see you." I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head against his chest.

It was true. A part of me was happy to see Asher, seeing him again aroused tender feelings in me...feelings which were much more sweet and tender than the raging and burning passion I felt towards Callum.

"How can you ask what I'm doing here? Surely you must know wherever you are I will follow." He caressed my cheeks gently and I closed my eyes for a moment.

"You can't be here Asher, it's too dangerous." I whispered but he ignored me and scooped me up in his arms.

"Why did you marry him, Keira?" His eyes searched mine and I looked away.

"I didn't have a choice. Maya ran off and if there wasn't a wedding my entire family would have been banished." I explained.

"And so you sacrificed yourself and our love." He deadpanned and I winced.

"I had no choice." I sighed.

"You could have come to me. Even if you were banished here I would have welcomed you into my pack without a moment's hesitation." He proclaimed.

"And allow my family to face shame when you know all they value is honour and prestige?" I curled a brow at him.

"What has been done cannot be undone and honestly, I don't want to fight with you Peach." Asher cradled my face in his palms.

"I'm sorry." I whispered as tears pricked the back of my eyes.

"It's alright, It wasn't your fault." He comforted me and I closed my eyes and enjoyed the familiar warmth he offered me.

"Let's run away, peaches." Asher broke the serene silence and I jerked up to look at him.

"What?" My brows furrowed.

"Let's run away together. I don't care that that crippled beast has marked you. I don't care about anything else except you and me." He announced and I slowly pulled away from him. My first instinct was to defend Callum but I taped down the urge...it would only make Asher angrier.

"Asher, I can't-"

"Do you still love me?" He asked, cutting me off.

"You know I do." I muttered.

"Then let's go. This is the only way we can be together." He pressed on.

"Callum will kill both of us." I stared calmly.

"So he is Callum to you now." His nostrils flared and I looked away from him.

"Do you love him?" Asher asked, his eyes scanning my face.

"Of course not." I replied and a part of my heart clenched.

"Then there's nothing stopping us peaches. I promise I won't let him hurt you, ever." He promised.

"Asher I'm sorry-" I began but he silenced me.

"Just think about it before you make a decision, we could be happy Keira." He whispered and I nodded slowly.

Satisfied with my answer for now, he placed a light kiss onto my lips.

"Take care of yourself." He caressed my cheeks one last time before he left.

I walked back to the pack house in a daze, my mind a jumbled mess.

I took great care to avoid Callum and headed straight to the shower to wash off Asher's scent from me.

"You were gone the whole evening." Callum commented as I strolled into the dining room.

"I wanted to take a walk and I lost track of time." I revealed, ignoring my pounding heart.

What if he knew Asher was here?

What would he say?

I looked away from Callum, afraid my guilt was written all over my face as I began to nibble at my dinner.

Loud voices echoed through the house seconds before one of the guards made their way into the dining room.

"Someone is here to see you Luna, they are quite adamant they won't move an inch unless you come outside and speak to them." The man informed me and my heart beat spiked.

I was almost a hundred percent sure it was Asher and I couldn't help but wonder if he had a death wish.

I briskly rose and made my way out, aware of Callum wheeling leisurely at his pace.

What would I possibly say when he says Asher?

As I pushed open the front door I stopped in my tracks as I stared at the ever familiar grey eyes I had known growing up.

"Maya?" I looked at her in shock and confusion.

The healer’s building smelt of herbs and smoke, a type of smell that stuck to the back of Keira’s throat. The waiting room was small, cold, and empty, except for a few small lanterns that left long shadows. Keira sat on a hard wooden bench, her hands held together tightly in her lap, her hands were still stained with Callum’s blood despite her attempts to scrub them clean. Her clothes were tattered and stained with red, she looked down and depressed, she could barely speak, and everything she had been through in the past few days was weighing her down. Her heart pounded, each beat was filled with pure pain and fear for Callum, she still felt guilty over Asher, and she didn’t know what to do with the raw power of the sacred wolf that was now awake inside her. She sighed as she forced herself not to listen to the muffled chants of the healers through the closed door to the surgery room, their voices got louder and louder as they spat out charms meant to mend Callum’s wounds.

Silence. The throne room was silent.Everyone is silent. The room was filled with the stench of blood and burned herbs. The shattered windows let in gusts of cold wind, rattling the almost dead candle lights and leaving horrific shadows across the stone walls. Keira’s massive white wolf stood at the center of the room, her fur shining like moonlight, her golden eyes filled with anger that seemed to be in her control. She slowly took a deep breath, blood dripping from her jaws, her claws stained red from Asher’s lifeless body at her feet. The rare wolf was awake, and its power was undeniable.Isabel, still in her human form, stood silently watching, her black robe glued to her sweaty skin. Her silver dagger lay on the floor, her eyes fixed on Asher’s dead body. His blood slowly forming a pool under him, seeping into the cracks of the stone, his lifeless eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. Isabel shook her head and began to laugh mockingly.“Pathetic,” she hissed, lips curling in

Silence. The whole room was silent. No one moved. No one dared to.Wind blew from the shattered windows, cold winds blowing against the candles in the room, blowing the scent of burned herbs and blood in the room.Keira’s massive white wolf stood at the center of the room, her fur glowing like moonlight, her golden eyes filled with a fiery look, The wolf let out a low growl shaking the stone walls of the throne room. Isabel growled back. She was now a massive dark wolf, her fur as black as night itself. She roared back, her eyes filled with cruel intent. The potion’s dark magic seemed to be fueling her strength. The room stood still. The guards stood silently, their hands shaking, their eyes filled with fear, their spears and other weapons were useless against the two beasts. The ancient witch burst out laughing, a long dry laughter that sounded like she was choking on something instead. She smiled, her eyes looking like she was enjoying every second of this, pure delight. Her snak

The whole throne room was silent, the guards watching in shock as the witch levitated in the air, her body twitching wildly, her hair flying, while screaming, Keira screaming with her, as the witch’s old hands stood over Keira. Her bony fingers twitched as she weaved invisible threads of dark magic that made the whole room hold their breaths while watching.Keira’s wrists which were still tied jerked upward as if she were being pulled by an unseen string. She looked around in horror, her chest breathing with panic, as her hands moved against her will. The witch’s eyes were filled with that eerie reddish glow, her lips curling into a crooked smile as she began to mutter ancient words under her breath. The snake at her feet hissed, it seemed like it was sliding along to the rhythm of her chant.Keira’s eyes moved to the dagger now resting in her shaky hands. The blade was so sharp, she wondered what had been used in sharpening it.Her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might bur

Isabel sat on her iron throne, her hands resting on her legs, her eyes shining. She had taken off her black robe and a maid was helping her massage her face while another was rubbing her foot. The ritual’s failure still bothered her, she had spent the afternoon trying to summon it if it was in her but it failed. She knew Keira’s rare wolf was still locked within her and, the dead witch’s spell had been incomplete. She closed her eyes in anger wondering what was delaying the maid she had sent in search of a new witch.“Enough.” She hissed.“Get out of here, all of you.” She hissed, sending all the maids out.Just then the door pushed open, and Isabel’s private maid entered, her hands shaking, her clothes looking dusty from traveling. Behind her was an ancient-looking woman, her back was hunched, her face was wrinkled like cracked cement, her eyes were shining with a strange reddish look in them, and she wore a tattered cloak that dragged the floor as she walked. “My Queen,” the maid

In a dark cell under the Rogue Island palace, Callum lay weakly against a cold stone wall, his hands chained, the silver dagger’s wound in his chest hurt like hell, blood pouring out from the wound through his torn shirt. His eyes slowly opened, his head felt heavy, and the shock of Isabel being alive still shook him.Not only was she alive, but she was the Rogue Queen. He couldn’t believe it.Just then, buckets of cold water splashed over him. He gasped as he sat, his eyes flying open.He gritted his teeth in pain as a whip cracked, stinging his back. “Wake up, you Moonclaw scum!” a rogue guard said, in a harsh voice, as he prepared to lash the whip again.Flashing a torchlight in Callum's eyes.Callum looked up at him, his hands shaking. His legs were trembling as he sat up, squinting in the dark room. “Where… am I?” he whispered, his voice breaking. The pain he felt was unbearable, he was feeling pain from everywhere.Just then, the cell door opened, and Isabel entered, wearing
