Chapter 17.

Kylian's POV.

“We need to talk, Maya,” I said, pushing the door open as she finally released her grip on the handle.

She was a bit hesitant as I walked into the room before unleashing her question, her expression and tone radiating the anger that she was trying to keep hidden. I knew she wasn't happy, I knew there must be something going on in her mind.

I couldn't decipher what the problem was exactly, and I couldn't read through her mind to know what was going up there. She had maintained a distance from me on our way, though I wanted her to stay close to me, not because I wanted to take that opportunity to spy on her thoughts, but because I couldn't control the feeling of wanting to have her around me and making sure she and the pup were in a good state.
