004: The Wedding

Time went by a whirlwind for Scarlett and the wedding day came upon them. The Omega wolf soughed dejected as she aspected her reflection in the bathroom mirror, she was finally getting mated.

“What a good day to die today’ she gibbed painfully.

Shaking her head grievously, she strolled out of the bathroom, a robe covering her bare body as she came out to the hotel room she had been staying in for the past two days, her future mother-in-law was a very persistent woman.

She slowly squatted on the bed and gazed intensively at her white wedding dress. She soughed for the hundredth time since she woke up that morning. Mating ceremonies were now held like normal weddings where they had to take vows and wear rings but the mate mark on the neck was the most essential thing, it showed she was claimed. She flipped her plum brown hair off her shoulders.

Who would blame her? She was a polite soul and she always thought she would get mated to the man of her dreams or her true mate if that was still a thing, not an asshole for money but what choice did she have….none!

She shut her eyes as she thought back to her loving boyfriend, she remembered how apoplectic Logan was when she told him about her sudden marriage and the rationales. Her poor delicate heart broke more when the Beta wolf walked away without saying a word, foaming.

She sighed again placing her elbow on her lab and her palm to her chin as her thoughts ran miserably just like she was. Then, her prejudiced thoughts were interrupted when the door of her domicile unbarred to reveal her two best friends, Dominica and Rue, both dressed as if it was their wedding. The Omega wished it was theirs instead.

“Why are you still sulking?” Dominica, a she wolf who had soft figures and features as an Omega but her ever fading scent of a Beta wolf always gave her off. Her hair was a long cheery pop that barely reached her shoulders and her eyes were a deep shade of brown, pure and innocent.

Rue, another Beta but the one with a short-lived tempered rolled her organ of sight dramatically. “Don’t tell me you are still thinking of Logan” she went over to a couch and made herself comfortable.

Scarlett’s head jerked up at the mention of her now ex-boyfriend’s name. “Have you heard anything from him yet?” She grilled.

Dominica sat beside the sulking omega and put a comforting hand around her shoulder. “Come on, don’t sulk now. You can’t tarnish your pretty face for some asshole who failed to understand you. In just a few seconds, you are going to be a mated omega. Forget about the silly wolf”

“How can I easily forget the man that owns my heart. I have been with him for three years now. How could I just abandon him, Logan courted me for almost a year, now am getting mated to a guy who didn’t even get me a courting gift” Scarlett wanted those around her to understand but no one was buying it. They all wanted her to forget Logan but how could she forget such a man that had been a huge part of her for years now.

Rue sighed as she sat up straight, crossing her left leg over the other, while smoothing the patterns of her red bride maid’s dress. “We get you Scarlett but you are not doing this for yourself. You are doing this for your family and your studies. You can’t afford to drop out of college now that you have come this far. Don’t tell me you want to be a housewife because I know that’s something you’ll never be” The redhead wolf gave another eye roll. “you have no idea how delightful I m now that you are no longer with that idiot”

Scarlett didn’t know why her friends didn’t like her ex, it had always been a mystery to her.

“Get dressed now. Your sulking face is already putting me in a bad mood. You are too beautiful for this” Rue continued, glaring irritably at the Omega, who chuckled at her friend’s attitude to cheer her up. Knowing Rue, the she-wolf would never admit it.

Scarlett stood up, she grabbed her white dress before rushing to the bathroom. Minutes later, the Omega came out fully dressed for her wedding. Rue and Dominica had their mouths on the floor.

“Do I look that awful?” Scarlett asked seeing her friend’s reaction, smoothing the material that hugged her curves and revealed too much of her pear shape, revealing more of her large hips while the rest of the white diamond dress swept over the floor.

Dominica shook her head. “No, you look monumental” she citation and the other two gave her weird looks at the word. The she-wolf only shrugged.

“Grandiose is the right word” Rue expressed, rising from her seat.

“What’s with all the big words?” Scarlett could only beam.

At that very moment, the door opened again to reveal Mr. and Mrs. Stones along with their little daughter, Anne Stones.

“Oh my God Honey, you look dashing” Mrs. Stone reached around and enclasped her daughter.

“Mr. Martin is a lucky man to have my sister” The little girl commented, twisting her hair on her left finger while her right hand was crossed over her chest. She was only a twelve years old girl. What did she know?

“I know right” Rue verbalized while coming to stand beside the little girl, putting a hand over her shoulder.

Mr. Stone palmed his daughter on her shoulder, giving her a propitious look. “Am proud of you”

Scarlett beamed mirthfully, fluttering her deep amber eyes.. “Thank you, Father”

A young lady entered the room. “The wedding planner just called. Your Alpha has arrived at the church” she announced before leaving the room for the lovely family.

Scarlett shrugged, seemed like the man had no problem with the sudden arranged marriage. He must be desperate, she thought.

“Come on come on. We can’t keep the others waiting” Mrs. Stones rushed everyone out of the hotel room.

********************~******************

Time went by speedily and before Scarlett knew it, she was already in the church, filled with a different type of people, standing in front of her husband to be who only stared at her blankly as the priest said his speech, a white veil over her head.

Scarlett had to admit, Mr. Martin wasn’t so bad as she had thought. If she was being honest, she could say Mr. Martin was the most handsome Alpha she had ever seen in her whole twenty years of life. Mr. Martin had all the features of a true man, sharp features, thick eyebrows, long eyelashes, bold shoulder, the balanced weight, muscular body, and a fine appearance, he was a complete Alpha, and his eyes, Scarlett hadn’t even started to describe his eyes but, If it was about the looks, Scarlett wouldn’t think twice before marrying this man and the Omega in her would gladly submit. But the unruffled pose Mr. Martin was representing was unnerving for the Omega.

Was this man-made of rock or what…!

How could anyone be this calm because She wasn’t as hell calm, she was freaking inside as she could barely keep up with the words of the priest, if it wasn’t for the scent blocker she had off, she was sure her distress pheromones would be spreading through every corner.

Oh, Scarlett admired the Alpha for his serene stance.

The male didn’t try to hide his domineering scent as an Alpha, his pheromones peek proudly out from him but somehow, they were restrained, controlled but yet, Scarlett felt her knees weakened, now she remembered the reason why she hated Alphas, Omegas were nothing but submissives pups in front of them.

She took deep and heavy breaths, her hands sweaty from stewing, her throat making gulping sounds, and traces of sweat could be seen on her forehead. Was she ready?, How would she be able to live with this intimidating man that had remained collected throughout?. How was she going to live the rest of her life mated with a man she bore no feelings for?

Then she remembered she wasn’t doing this for herself, her family had to survive and if sacrificing her happiness was the only way to do it, then she was more than willing to make that happen.

With sudden determination, she replied. “I do”

She only hoped this arranged marriage turned outright.

To be continued…!
