Chapter Five

I watched him leave the house with no pity, he got what he deserves, I never thought someone would do that to him. That serves him right. This was just the consequence of his own action.

I wanted to call my friend so we could celebrate what had happened, but I had a second thought that it is bad to celebrate someone's misfortune.

I was about to drop my phone when my phone rang, it was Nathan's mother who was calling me.

"Hello, Good Morning" I said after I picked up the call.

"My dear, do you see the video people have been sharing?"

"I saw it and I have been wondering, I was asking Nathan how it happened but he left home angrily"

"I have been calling him but his phone is not reachable, where is he?"

"I asked him where he was heading too but he didn't say a word, I have been worrying, I was thinking he was coming over there, so I thought of calling you"

"I didn't see him, what is wrong with Nathan, why has he chosen to disgrace me"

"Mum, Nathan betrayed my trust, he went to have sex with someone else, is that how he will pay me all these years it loyalness"

"My dear, i am sorry, we will solve that later, let's look for my son first"

"No problem ma"

"You can call his friends that you know he might have gone there"

"I will do that now" I said and hung up the call.

I smiled.

His parents went to the police station to fill a missing person report.

They searched everywhere but they couldn't find him.

Months went by and there is still no sign of him.

I was sleeping when I heard my phone ring, it was my mum, I picked.

"Hello mum, how are you doing?"

"I am fine, what have you been doing to this case, this is turning to reality, for days now your husband has still not be found, I hope you are not worrying too much"

"See mummy they will see him, I am sleeping"

"You are sleeping and your husband is missing"

"Mum, what has got to do with me?"

"What has that got to do with you? Have you forgotten that this man is your husband"

"Mum have you forgotten also that you forced me into this marriage, if I was to choose the man I want to marry, I can never choose Nathan" I said and hung up to avoid further interaction.

"I don't know why she has to disturb me from sleep, I was thinking she wants to discuss something important, no one should call me to ask about him please, if they really cared about him they should go and look for him themselves" I said, arranging my bed.

I sat down on my bed, and for the first time, I was worried about him.

"Where has he gone too, I don't know any friends of his, I only know he came in with different ladies, Days turn to weeks, weeks to Month and he still hasn't come home" I breathe in and out deeply.

I brought my phone and I searched for Nathan on my contact list. I searched for it for like five minutes before remembering that I had deleted his number.

Who can I call to give me his number? I can call no one because who would even hear that and not suspect that something is going on.

I put on my clothes and left for my father's house.

When I got there, I secretly checked for his number on my father's phone and I saw it.

I called him on my line but it was off. I never thought I would be worried about him, but somehow I am.

My parents and I were in the living room, when Nathan's mother called my dad on the phone.

"Hello, my husband is at Focus hospital, he hasn't been feeling fine since Nathan has been missing, now the sickness has gotten serious" Nathan's mother said in tears.

"Really? We are coming right now" My father said and the call was hung.

When we got there, we saw him lying on the bed. I secretly shed tears, seeing what Nathan had done.

I went nearer to him.

"Father please be fine, Nathan Is coming soon"

"My dear, I will be fine, thank you" He managed to talk and continue, "I will call my Lawyer, I need you to be here for some minutes"

"Really, no problem"

I dialed Nathan's number continuously but it was off.

Minutes later, the Lawyer came.

"Hello Mr. Benson, I am sorry for calling you out this morning, as you know I have been in search of my only son, my only child for months and I haven't heard any news about him, we reported to different solution but we are still yet to get any positive Information from them"

"I believe he is coming home soon, just soon, you just need to be fine, you should be in a good state before his arrival"

"Thank you, I will be fine, thank you Mr. Benson"

"You are welcome"

"I want to give all my property to her, to Mitchell Cooper" Everyone in the room was shocked, including his wife, it was obvious that they hadn't discussed it before"

"Have you thought about this very well?" Mr. Benson asked again to confirm.

"I have"

"Okay, you will give me some minutes to go to the office to bring in some documents"

"Please be fast with it"

We watched the lawyer leave, and we were all looking at one another.

Minutes later, the lawyer came in and I was told to sign. I signed.

I went home still very shocked and unsure of what had happened, is it that I now own his company and houses? What have I done to deserve it?

I was still wondering when a call came in that Nathaniel's father died.

Everything was like a dream to me, the man who I saw hours back?

I cried.
