Infidelity

Chapter Four

I continued pretending like a happy bride, though I am tired of pretending but I would rather not talk because I knew no one cares about how I feel.

I was in the living room chatting with one of my friends at college and she was asking how I tend to cope with the situation. I was thinking of replying when I saw Nathan walk in with a woman. They went straight to the room without even saying a word, and I ignored them too.

Minutes later, I could hear sound from the room and I knew something was going on already.

I told my friend everything he has been doing, though she suggested that I inform my parents, but I insisted, because I need no stress

They walked out of the room, their faces flushed and their clothes disheveled, I pretended not to even see them, to avoid any interaction.

"Darling, is this the lady you were forced to marry?" The woman in which Nathan brought in, asked.

"Yes, she is the one, she looks weird right?"

"Yes, very, I can't wait to be staying in with you"

"Very soon, I mean very soon, we will both stay in this same house"

"Alright, thank you baby, see you later" She said.

"Sure, and you are free to come here anytime without evening calling me, this is your house and not anyone house, this is my father's house, my father's house is my house and my house is yours, just come, nobody is disturbing you here"

"Alright, thank you darling, let me leave now"

"Alright, and if you wish to stay, you can"

"No, I am fine"

She said and left.

I wonder why he is acting this way. If only he knew how determined I am not to even care about him, he wouldn't be doing all these.

The next day he brought in two ladies again, I kept on ignoring him and didn't even say a word about it.

I stopped sleeping in the same room with him, and stopped using things with him.

I was in the kitchen brushing my teeth, when he came to start up a conversation.

"I just hope you won't go around and be telling the families everything that is going on here"

I heard and ignored him.

"Do you not hear me? I said I hope you are not telling everyone how I am treating you"

"I would have done that if I care about what you do, did you think I was joking when I said you are free to do whatever you want to do, I was forced into this, this is not my wish, so I careless"

"Better, I like the fact that you don't care about it, like you are also free to do it if you wish, bring in any man you want, but wait, not here this is my father's house"

"You are here saying this is not your father's house, your father work so hard to be able to accomplish all these, but you are here sitting down and doing nothing, yet your father's property is what you keep claiming"

"Hey, please do not go there, the way we have been doing is better, I am sure you do not want a fight to start between us, what has my father's property has to do with you? What? All his property are for me, if you want yours you can go to your father's house to claim his"

I looked at him and hissed loudly.

After brushing I cooked pasta and ate.

I went to my room, I took my phone, I saw people posting a video, I thought it was a comedy, so I ignored it at first.

I decided to watch it after some people tagged me in the comment section of one of the bloggers' posts. I was shocked when I watched it. It was the first woman Nathan had brought home that shared the video first before everyone started sharing it, it was an intimacy between the woman and Nathan.

I didn't even wait to watch it finish, I went to the living room and connected my phone to the TV.

I could see the shock on Nathan's face as he watched it. His mouth was wide and his face was agape.

It was as if I had won a scholarship, an overwhelming sense of joy and relief. I laughed in disbelief.

My friend called me, I am sure she has watched the video I picked.

"Hello Mitchell, did you see Nathan's video on the internet"

"Yes, I saw it, the video has gone viral, I am so happy right now"

"Did you share it? Were you the one that did it secretly?" she asked.

"Me? I didn't share it, I didn't do that, but you see what he did to me was done to him too, I am so happy my friend" I said louder.

"I am happy for you too, tell me, how is he feeling now"

"Like, do you think I care about how he feels? He should feel anyhow he likes, mine was better, it was shared in the school group, the school management ordered him to delete it immediately and make sure no student have it on thei phone, but can you see his own, I saved it already and I am sure thousands of people saved it too, don't you have it? If you don't, I can send it to you"

"What are you saying by I don't have, I have it and I can send it to you my friend, if anyone needs it, tell them to come and meet me, I have it and I am not ready to delete it on my phone"

"My friend, if you need anyone who needs it too, describe my house to them, I will share it with them" We both laughed and we hung up.

He went to his room, and later came out of his room with a bag full of clothes. He was clearly panning to leave, and I couldn't believe my eyes.
