LOGINBrielle's POV
“Lock down the mansion!” Lucien commanded a squad of his soldiers. “No one goes in or out. search the premises for the intruder. I want him brought to me, alive,” “Yes sir!” They chorused before they left for their duty posts. “Brielle, I need you to go to my chambers. Zane is already there, watch over him,” He said in a hushed tone as he led me to one of his men. ,“Take her there and don't let anyone into the room,” He instructed. “Lucien __” “Don't worry, love,” He held me close, his fingers brushing my face gently as he tucked my hair to the back of my ear. I could sense the desperation from him but he tried his best to hide it with a smile. “I will join you when I have captured your brainwashed ex,” “Okay,” I muttered before I followed behind the armed security guard. I hurriedly went into the room and shut the door. Zane laid on the bed while there were three doctors actively checking up on him. “How is he?” I asked them. “ Well, his vitals are normal. It appears that he is still trapped in his sleep world,” The doctor answered while still checking his pulse. I drew closer and his faint heart beat gave me chills. It was almost not there and for him to drop it that low meant he was ready to die to protect us. “Zane,” I grabbed his hand gently. The moment our hands touched, I felt a soft tension, like he was trying to grip my hand. A smile danced on my lips as I became assured that he was still in there. “Lucien needs, the pack needs you, I need you,” “Really?” Ken's voice startled me. I turned to see him behind me, dressed as one of the doctors. There was blood over his shirt as he slaughtered one of them. She choked on her own blood as life slowly drifted from her eyes. “It's exciting how easy a person can just turn up dead,” He muttered with a hysteric smile that froze me up in fear. “This isn't you, Ken,” I backed up, shielding the doctor and Zane behind me. “This isn't me? How do you know what is me and what isn't?” He walked towards me. “How can you tell me apart? You left me to die and now you think you know me?” “Yes, I do,”I exhaled with fear. I couldn't stop trembling as he leaned closer, sniffing my skin with a erotic gaze. “You still smell good,” he remarked as he backed away slowly. The doctor behind me sighed deeply in relief as he collapsed on the bed, close to Zane. “I was sent to break you and kill the Prince. That is the only way I can earn my freedom,” “Break me?” I retorted. I couldn't control myself and tears rolled down my cheek. “I'm already broken from watching you hurt. It's all my fault and I accept it, please Ken,” “Don't!” He growled angrily. “Don't call me that name. I am not that name anymore, I am Chase's shadow.” “No __” “I am his Shadow, call me Ashe,” He said, his smile got more intense by the second, scaring me from just looking at it. “I am nothing but my master's will and right now, you are in between me and my task,” “You…you are not killing Zane,” I stuttered, trembling but mustering enough strength to speak. “You are not going to kill anyone,” “How are you so sure about that?” He asked, cackling loudly till his face turned red. “You couldn't even fight a man that tried to rape you. You useless whore,” “Watch your tongue,” Lucien spat spitefully as he pushed open the door. “The butcher,” he chuckled when he turned to face him. “I knew something else was going on from the moment I saw both of you. The mate bond,” “Ken, please. Let me_” “Shut your lying mouth!” He snapped. “The reason why you abandoned me was because you found your mate and I was disposable,” “No, Ken. You weren't…” “You are disposable,” Lucien uttered before I could finish my response. “That's why even Chase dumped you off in the middle of enemy territory to face your fate. No one cares about,” “Lucien! Enough!” My outburst didn't rail him from going further. He slowly approached Ken, his hand clenched into a fist. “You touch my brother or my mate and I will dispose you properly like the garbage you are,” The two men stared straight at each other's eyes. Their gaze was so intense that the room felt like it was vibrating from the point where they stood. “Damn!” Ken disrupted the moment. “I was almost scared, wow,” he exhaled deeply. He smiled like a maniac as he cheered like he was having fun. “Ashe,” I called out softly and he turned to answer. “You can't win this, you have already lost. Your master placed you here to die,” “Oh sweet Brielle, you are as clueless as a virgin,” He responded. The look on his face showed how disoriented his mind was. “You are not still a virgin, are you? You left me a virgin but Chase told me how good you enjoyed him fucking you,” My heart broke, memories of the night came flooding in. Scarred moments that I had spent a long time burying resurfaced. “Enough!” Lucien tackled him without hesitation. “Lucien, watch out!” I pointed to the second knife that he pulled out of his boots. Lucien missed his attack by an inch but it ended up ripping his shirt. “Do you really need your cheerleader, Alpha Butcher?” Ken asked as he took an attack pose with the knife in both hands. At that point I was convinced that the man I fell in love with was gone. There was no Ken anymore, just Chase. Just Ashe. “Goodbye,” I muttered, holding back the tears that were about to escape my eyes. Ken deserves my tears but Ashe deserved no sympathy from me. “Giving up on me,” He said, smiling like a maniac. “Ken died because of me and that guilt will follow me to my grave,” I replied with a bold smile. “But I will it let one of Chase's acolyte use his body for their own pleasure,” “Good,” he remarked. “Now I can kill you both in peace,” “You are a very bold one,” Lucien responded with a cold smirk. He took off his shirt, exposing his broad physique and tattooed skin. He gently wrapped his shirt around his fist as his gaze instantly became dark. “I am an Alpha and you are just a mercenary. Do you think you can possibly take me?,” “And that is why we plan ahead,” Ken replied. My instincts were triggered when he uttered those words. I could feel my wolf spiralling, the feeling was intense and different. It was almost like I felt the danger behind me. I turned to see the Doctor being slowly choked to death. His eyes had turned red and drools came out of his mouth as he kicked hard against his attacker. The attacker wasn't fazed from the sight of a man suffocating to death. He watched, unbothered with a void look in his eyes. “Zane,” Lucien called out in shock. “Brother, stop. Please,” “Zane,” I muttered, slowly backing away towards Lucien. After suffering the doctor long enough, he snapped his neck to end the pain. “Like I said,” Ken walked to Zane's side. “I am here to break you, Brielle,”Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “
Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry
Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I
Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo
Brielle's POV“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around. “Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess. “How did you get in here?” The priestess asked. “She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes. “She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,” “What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know. “Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt. “Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess. “D
Lucien's POV.“I need them here as soon as possible,” I said to the squad leader on the phone. “And General, stay safe,” “Brielle! Damn it!” Rio's voice caught my attention. It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
