Brielle's POV

“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around.

“Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess.

“How did you get in here?” The priestess asked.

“She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes.

“She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,”

“What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know.

“Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt.

“Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess.

“Do you want to explain to her how you and your merry sisters tried to bring a whisperer into existence?”

The priestess's slit eyes couldn't hide the fear she felt.

“A century ago, a young maiden was called into the Goddess's priestess hood. She could hear past the realm, learn secrets, predict nature. She was amazing and she was your ancestor, Brielle,”

“What are you trying to say?” I advanced closer.

“Stop with the cryptic stories and just hit the nail on the head,”

“You were also an experiment,” Suzie blurted with a smile.

“The priestesses' way of creating the first whisperer. My own mother used dark magic to force the other realm into me as an infant but I guess you were the success,”

“Rio?” I muttered as I thought to myself.

“He was a sign that we were doing something right,” The priestess with a heavy sigh.

“He could detect a person's move and could feel the whispers. But you can hear and interpret them,”

“I never liked you, old hag,” Zane chipped in.

“You were always up to something. My father could tell, even my mother had her doubts about you,”

“You don't have to like me but everything I do is for the pack and I will not stop giving it my all,” She said with a stern voice.

“Marrying my sister was also a way of you giving it your all,” Zane muttered with a raging tone.

“My sister being the mate of a mad man was also you giving it your all. You priestesses orchestrate event in the name of the goddess while satisfying your own self righteous flaw,”

“I follow the path to her light,” She said, her eyes watering up as she looked at me.

“Your mother really wanted an out and at the end, you came from her. It's prove that we find jewels in the spot we least expect them,”

“So I'm not the jewel you want?” Suzie spoke with a sharp tone. She took a knife from the table and stared at her reflection on it.

“Being stuck like this all your life is a curse. And at a point my father locked me in a room like this where I had to train everyday, sharpen instincts or get hurt,”

“I'm sorry,” I muttered with a heavy breath.

“I'm not,” The priestess shot back.

“Im not sorry for the sins of amother. The experiments I run hurt no one, harm no one. Your mother was desperate to rule and she did what was forbidden. The priestesses are not allowed to bear a child,”

“Why was I punished for the sins of my mother?” Suzie retorted sharply. Her voice echoed as she drew closer with the knife. Zane placed me behind him as we watched in suspense.

“Is that how your goddess works? Punish children for their parents sin,”

“Enough,” Zane voiced with a cold look.

“Nothing. No trauma, no problem, no suffering would ever make up for working with Chase. You follow the devil and you are complaining about being wronged,”

“He treated me without pain! He saw me as his kin, his child,” She explained.

“You might not know how it feels because you have had someone love you all your life but I haven't. I only get this one, this person and I will love him back,”

“Then we have a problem,”Zane growled. He picked up a dagger from the far end of the wall and stood in front of me.

The priestess walked to Zane’s side.

“You have suffered, child. My people caused your suffering, I will help them end it,”

“You forget something,” Suzie said with a smile.

“This is my domain,” She snarled and the entire place went dark again.

I couldn't see anything in front of me but I could feel Zane's hand gripping mine and the Priestess' stench in front of me.

“Stay close,” The Priestess urged.

The first attack came with a whoosh sound that blew by with the wind.

“Damn!” Zane groaned.

“She just cut me. How is she moving that fast without been detected?”

“We are in her world, she controls this place,” The priestess responded.

The sound came from everywhere around, her movement discreet but her cut went deep. Every move was followed by an inflicted she caused. The pain of her blade cutting through the flesh was unimaginable.

“Old lady! You better have a spell to get us out of here!” Zane growled as her movement got even faster.

“She's around!” I exclaimed and shut my eyes. The moment I did, amidst the pain and fear terrorizing my heart, I heard the whispers. Loud agonizing whispers and voices of people that were trapped within her as well.

“I can hear them,” I voiced aloud.

“They are in pain, they want to be set free,”

“Their souls can't rest if she's still walking freely,” The priestess said.

I realized that the voices were always louder at the direction of the movement sounds.

“I can detect her, with the voices,” I thought out loud.

I closed my eyes and concentrate, honing the environment, following the voices intensity. Suddenly they gradually became louder, coming towards my left side. I pulled up every bit of strength I could and got my stance ready.

I reached out and grabbed her just before she could execute her attack. I pulled her in with a swift grip and smashed her into the ground. Zane reacted to the attack and sent the dagger into hand, pinning her down to the floor.

The darkness dispersed quickly as she groaned loudly in pain. We were still back in the shed but this time the whole place was messy. Her growls and loud screech upset the entire room. It trembled with her voice and it was stalking apart.

“What's going on?” Zane asked as we staggered backwards to a pillar. Our bodies were covered with cuts and blood from her slashes.

“She's destroying this place with us in it,” The priestess answered as she held Suzie down to the floor.

“Can we leave?” Zane inquired curiosly.

“I very much like to not die in the mind of a psychopath,”

“You both can. Someone needs to leave the door opened as she die out there,” She answered, still holding on to Suzie.

“If we go and kill her with you still in here, you will die with her?”

“I will collapse with this place. My mind will drown and eventually with my body,” She answered with a bright smile.

“But it would be worth it. I haveived my life, now go fight for yours,”

“Thank you,” I nodded in appreciation.

“I understimated you, old hag,” Zane remarked.

“Our destinies young Prince is more alike than you think,” The priestess said with a cryptic look.

“We both are destined to pave ways,”

“Okay,” Zane reacted with a confused look.

“Now go,” she voiced and the next blink brought me back to the dinning chambers.

“Brielle,” Zane hurried to my side. I backed away slowly, listening to the whispers that were louder than it was before.

The blood was all over Suzie's face and the Priestess was still frozen to the spot.

“We have to end it,” Zane grabbed a table knife. He walked to Suzie's side and slowly slit her throat. I gasped as I watched the scene, watching the blood ooze out of her neck.

A shocking phenomenon happened, the priestess neck was also slit. The voices suddenly became louder, sending tremors through my heart as I watched them die.

“Thanks,” A voice spoke louder than the rest, It was the voice of a child. Suzie drew her last breath and the voices stopped.

“They are dead,” I muttered.

Zane lifted the Priestess' body and placed it on the dinner table. I watched carefully, feeling my void of pain twist me from the inside.

“It's not your fault, Zane,” I stated, noticing the regret on his face.

“I know but_”

He stopped his sentence midway and charged towards me. I was confused by his action but suddenly a scent blew past me and before I could react, I felt a sharp sting in my chest.

“Brielle!” Zane roared as I collapsed into his arm. The life in my legs gave up. I looked at my chest to see the edge of a dagger poking out of me.

“You,” I spat as I stared at Angelina standing over me.

“Hang in there,” Zane whispered as he grabbed me firmly in his arms. I could barely feel his touch, his warmth, just the cold feeling in my heart.

“Your death has been long overdue,” Angelina's words were the last thing I heard before everything went dark.

Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “

Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry

Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I

Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo

It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
