The vicious faces of the family

★★★★

“Mum! What is William contemplating? Everything was going according to plan and was flawless. I now cannot see anything left for us to enjoy! This is pathetic!” Martina said to her mother who was sitting on a Beleza sofa with a wine glass in her hand.

“This sentiment has been inside me for a while, especially the way he treats us. He did not regard us like family, but following his return from the accident, he appeared far too abnormal. Do you not think that he treated all of us, including you, very well? He complied with our instructions. We should have paid more attention to him, Martina,”

William's mother said to Martina as they both processed the incident that upended all of her long-planned plans. William could not have made the hasty choice to tie the knot out of thin air.

After hearing her mother's words, Martina thought back to the day she showed up in front of William in the towel after taking a bath, and for some reason, she relished coming into his sight. She gulped down her saliva and shook her head when she felt the thoughts were spiraling out of control, which was not good for her.

“Then?!!" Martina questioned her mother, once her detrimental ideas subsided.

“He had been planning this marriage for a long time because he sensed that his marriage to Katherine would serve as the backdrop for his business," Jayla remarked to her daughter as she drank the last of the wine from her glass, her gaze fixed on the empty glass in her hand with meticulous thoughts.

“Impossible! We discussed it in London. How could he know when he was not there with us? Additionally, Katherine dated him for a long time. If he felt that there was a plot against him he would speak with Katherine so that they might come up with an alternative plan other than being married to an unidentified woman! My mind is being blown away by it,”

Martina discussed her thoughts about William's potential course of action.

“Perhaps things changed once he returned, and his emotions shifted. Besides, he had never felt so strongly for Katherine. Do you not recall him ignoring her in front of the media one day and condemning her the next night because she bravely walked into his room? William never refused her, but I do not think he ever treated her like a girlfriend either. I am not sure which of my solid ideas to believe."

Jayla rose from her seat and grabbed her phone to call someone but Martina intervened,

"Don't you think it's too soon to employ an assassin?"

“I am giving your dad a call. And in this mansion, please for God's sake, keep your mouth quiet. And if you are considering opposing Williams's wife at this time, use good judgment. You will not try to stick your nose into this situation until your father finds out. William's apparent tranquility alarmed me; it gave me the impression that if he labeled us as his enemies, disaster would unavoidably follow,”

Jayla forewarned her dumb daughter, who still did not know how to read people.

“William can be tamed as long as Dad is here, Mom! In addition, I have no intention of hurting that bitch."

Sitting idly on the bed and crossing one leg over the other, Martina remarked, "Father would take care of things for us because he is great friends with Katherine's father and they had promised each other that the two families would take their relationship further with marriage. I therefore don't think that bitch would survive very long. Poor girl!"

“What is the secret behind William being servile to your father, as far as I have learned, William is an extremely hazardous boy who does not bow down to anyone, and neither does he care about his father, so what would make him so obedient?"

Jayla murmured under her breath as she pondered why William listened to his father despite the fact that he had no concerns about him.

“Why do you care about such a trivial subject, Mom? Such things should not dominate our minds as long as we receive what we want."

Martina recommended to her mother, rolling her eyes at her over thinker mother, who often ended up thinking a tonne of stuff at the same time.

“Yes, I ought not to. Where are your brothers, by the way?” Jayla inquired. Martina, Henry, and Markus were her three children, while William was her stepson. After his mother died in an untimely manner, she married into the Mackenzie family when William was just four years old.

Her path was not an easy one. Because many royal families participated in the conspiracy to make their daughters Mrs.Mackenzie. However, Mr. Winston Mackenzie chose her because she was beautiful and intelligent.

“Father brought Henry with him to the business conference, and you are familiar with Markus. He does not care about us and doesn't wish to have anything to do with us. He wants to be alone," Martina responded leisurely to the question of where her brothers were. But there was one thing she was unable to clarify to herself: why she was unable to consider William as her brother. Since childhood, she had always loved William more than her brothers

Nothing changed inside her as she grew older, instead she felt a stronger draw towards William. She assumed William's marriage to Katherine would make her life easier, but seeing him married to a marginalized woman made her further angrier rather than discarding her feelings.

“Alright, go to your room. And I will propose you have your dinner in your room because I am not particularly hungry and I doubt William and his wife would enjoy to eat dinner with us at the dinner table," Jayla sighed as she headed up to her wardrobe to get some night warmer.

“I understand,” after responding, Martina left the room because she had a night out planned with her friends, and talking to her mother would keep Jayla up, which would prevent Martina from attending the party.

When Monica emerged from the restroom and discovered the food tray in her room, which smelled exquisite, her stomach reacted immediately.

Her gaze, on the other hand, was drawn to William, who had changed into a more casual outfit and was holding a book. Monica had the impression he was about to go somewhere.

“There is food for you to eat and then make yourself comfortable!" William stated in a strong voice, not looking at Monica, and turned around towards the door.

“Where are you going?" Monica asked confusingly.

“To Library!" William answered and unlocked the door.

“Are you kidding!?" Monica exclaimed disbelievingly, took a step towards the bed, and tossed her wedding gown onto it.

William turned around, his face furrowed, and said,

"What exactly do you mean?"
