Chapter 4-Fired again?
Kate's POV:—--------------"I'm here. I guess everything is alright?" Headmaid asked.I banged into her room and searched for my bag."My bag, I have her drugs are in there. I need to return them to the hospital as soon as possible. The doctors want to see them," I explained as much as I could."Here!" She stretched her hand and handed it to me, "Take this, my dear, you might need some money as well."'Wow, I didn't expect that.' I thought."Just keep it, you can pay it back when you receive your salary. I have enough on me now," she opened my palm and tabbed the money in it. "Now, run, don't forget to use the exit I showed you.""Where's master? Has he looked for me?" I curiously asked to secure my job."No! Nope! Not at all. He has gone out with his visitor, you know what, just go. I got you covered." She pushed me out.I wished I met the same good samaritan who had dropped me off earlier. I just can't run; I wish I could. I tried my best to jog but to no avail. My heart beat harder and faster. I could hear the beat it created within the ribs. Luckily, a bus stopped by my side. I think the driver felt my pain, to be frank, couldn't have gone any longer if he had not intervened."Hey, look at how you are tired. You should have been a good runner with this weight. Ha…ha…" a guy I never knew laughed at me. Maybe, I saw myself dragging myself alongside the road.I kept mute and didn't even look back to see him. He pulled my hair and everyone laughed. I wish I could kick his ass but I had better plans ahead."Don't touch her again," the man who had dropped me in front of the house where I worked was also on the bus. "Try that again and I promise to let you spend the rest of your life with a broken arm!" He concluded.I didn't have time to ask him why he was on the bus, getting off, he just waved at me.When I reached the hospital, I rushed to the counter and dropped the drugs."Here, these are what you requested," The nurses looked confused and double-minded as they looked into each other's faces."Hey, this way. Aren't you Catherine's daughter?" The doctor I had met earlier called."Sorry, I think I'm lost. He's the one I'm looking for," I begged and started packing the drugs back into my bag."Due to time, you can pick one of each drug. It'll help the rest." One of them offered kindly."Today has been a day of kindness and surprises," I told myself as I rushed to the doctor's office."Calm down, dear. Calm down." He advised, but I still sat there panting like a pregnant fish." Breathe in…out…breath in…1 2 3…let it out." He continued with the exercise until I calmed down. We sat there looking into our faces. His blue eyeballs moved and stuck on his file, then his hand and pen followed."Your mother is doing fine, but I'll need you to answer some questions before we go to see her." the doctor requested and I nodded. He only asked me four questions, all about the drugs and how I managed to purchase them."These are not the types she should be taking, it's very detrimental to her situation. It's a miracle she still survives on these antibiotics." He complained and taught me about it. "Now, let's go see your mother," he added. She was laying there reading her book; her hobby."Come give me a kiss, girl," she dropped the book and opened her arms widely to receive me.I could wait to embrace the love; I ran to fall in between her two open arms. I listened to her heart beat and it played a nice melodious beat."First, how's work? You told me you'll be meeting the man today,?" she inquired. Her face changed at once when her bloated cheeks sunk in. Her wrinkles dropped back and streamed on her face. "Is he good?""Yeah, Sir…no…Matt…yes…Sir…Sir…he's a nice person," I rested in the chair beside her and I answered."Tell me more, I know you're smart to find enough," I knew this woman would ask. She didn't want me to work under pressure."He's very handsome and charming, tall and slim. He has bright eyes. Mom, you can't watch his gray eyeballs, at a moment it tends to be green and then back to gray and his lips are so cute…" before I realized a book had landed on face. She didn't hit me that hard but I was alarmed. "Awch, why did you do that, Mom?" I touched the spot she had hit me."That's not what I asked for, are you high?" she sarcastically asked, "You are telling a different thing. I never asked for his physical appearance or physique. I mean, was he rude or what?""And height is just very moderate," I continued with what I had started earlier."Oh my good gentleperson, hold me within. You are amazing…don't tell me you are in love with him already, please." she teased and sat down to face me."Love!? Mother!? I'm not in love with him, he is so rude. You won't believe he turned a beautiful rich lady down. He just told her he does not like her. I can't deal with such an arrogant person. No! Mom! No!" I highlighted it in a few seconds."That's what billionaires do. They are arrogant and rude, but this time, I need you to cope with it. Just don't forget what I taught you. Controlling your emotions. They said I can go home today, it's already late, I want you to and end your work for the day. I'll be waiting for you in the house." She requested. As if she knew I had hoped to set my eyes on him for the last time before the day ends. I didn't tell her about the deal, "yeah, a deal is a secret.""Here take this money," I offered gently. Her lips widened and her wrinkles stretched on her forehead. I didn't know if she was happy or sad as she held my hand and the money at a go. "I need to get going, it's getting late," I cried into her ears, left the money, and walked out. That face meant so much to me. I didn't want to see it sad. All I wanted for her is happiness, yeah, happiness and nothing much or less. On my way, I started to think about how my first experience had been and considered quitting but I needed money desperately from that silly contract I agreed to.All the way, I couldn't think of anything else aside from Matt and Angela."How could Angela want such a handsome rich guy all for herself? It doesn't happen. Such guys belong to billions of women, even me but I frantically know I don't deserve him…""Hey, stand there, Lady!!" A loud indistinct voice rocked at me in the tunnel where I needed to pass by all means, but I didn't even turn back to glance at the person. I just increased my speed! The person followed me at the same speed, it was getting darker and darker. We were the only people using that tunnel and no one else but I made sure to control my heart. Suddenly, a touch of light spectrums dispersed in the dim tunnel and I braked."What are these tag boys going to do to me?" I wrestled with my conscience. Surprisingly, the unknown individual was busily running back when I turned around."Hello, it's the police, don't be afraid!" The man holding the touch motivated me. He was my surveillance for the night. In a few minutes, we reached the unusual gigantic beautiful house."This is my…" I tried to let him know that we'd reached the house where I worked but he took matters into his own hands."Home? Wow! You're so lucky to be with the billionaire. I guess you're his wife. I'm Officer Pole, and I'm glad to render you my service." He burst into laughter and headed back. When I entered the house, I used the secret entrance Headmaid had shown me earlier, and to my surprise, Matt and his Headmaid stood right behind the door."I'm sorry, he found out." The Headmaid broke her speechlessness."You know what? You're fired!" Matt roared at me. My spirit left my body at that moment as I was shocked. I couldn't believe that was happening to me, yet it it seems I was still crushing on him the more.Chapter 5MATT'S POV:—---------I didn't want to repeat my words. Those tears boiled my blood and I was getting even angrier. "Do you need to pick something before you get out!?" I inquired of her as she stood trembling. "You know the rules and decided to break them on your first day with me. Do you think that's perfectly splendid, silly? You are not the first person to have consented to this glory, it's not not nice working with you." I concluded with good remarks and rhetorical questions. "I…am…so sorry, I can't go back alone. It's late." She pleaded as her tears wouldn't stop streaming down her poor face. I smirked and banged the door as loudly as I could, leaving her outside to the mercies of the weather. I thought she was sorry for something better, but she was rather pleading because it was late and can't go alone. 'That is not my business.'"And for you, employ better maids next time and desist from letting them face my wrath!" I warned Patricia, the Head maid, and walked s
Chapter 6Is that you, Kate?"Angela, I should be asking you that dumb question!" I exclaimed and pushed her back. Her red lipstick had been painted all over my face and shirt. It seems she was turned and was ready to let me f*ck her for free but nope, no sex with Angela. I had already promised myself not to do that."Hey, you know it won't work. I've tried harder but I'm sorry, I can't love you. Please let go of me before I lose my demonic temper on you." I advised her gently. The drink had taken effect on me and I was falling for it but not Angela. "Hey, Kate, listen... No Angels, don't come close to me. Pick that bottle for me, it will do me more good than you do. It holds interesting stories, just walk out with yours." I felt a bit tipsy, words just found their way out as soon as they came to mind. "Help yourself with it, or, get your filthy Kate to get it for you." She spewed, dressed up, and walked out as I wished. Angela was so cold-hearted. She loses her temper so easily and I
Chapter 7Reds and Blacks"Look, I'm…I…just let me go home, please. I promise not to come here again," she pleaded. The polythene bag containing the food swung behind her as she crossed one hand against the other at her back. "Look, I need you to do me a favor," I requested in return to let her go free. "What should I do for you, please?""Good! Wait and see," I promised and made a call."Hello, Antonio, track me."Within a few seconds, he appeared like a ghost. "Antonio, take her to the boutique, get her a nice red dress, take her home to get clean, and let her dress up. I need this to be done in twenty minutes," I commanded and wished noticing the time wasn't enough! Her blonde hair was very attractive and I think she didn't need to waste much time on it. Antonio adjusted his hat, got his tall body to the entrance, and signaled her to follow him but she didn't move an inch. "Do you want someone to see you this way? I guess I call someone else," she started walking towards us.
Chapter 8 Red turns bloodyKATE'S POV:—---------Music and noises went off as if the DJ had control of the people at the party too.He tuned down both his blasters and the humans' voices. I felt uneasy and felt like some crazy woman wrapped in thirteen blankets. I held up my heavy long gown so that it wouldn't be mopping spilled liquors. Maybe, I would need to return it after this party, it's too expensive for me to keep. I looked around all intersections of the gigantic hall, but Matt was nowhere to be found. A few moments later, the sound systems booted again and people began to thaw as if they were frozen earlier. All I could see were reds and blacks so finding Matt was a problem!"So as I said…" Matt's voice reverberated. I lifted my head to see him on the stage and waved at him. Matt of all people waved back excitedly, took a deep breath, and continued his speech while I just stood right to listen. "Maid, maid, maid!," Cathrine called repeatedly walking toward me, "You look
Chapter 9—-----------Laying there helplessly, I wished that a savior would pass by but all hope and wishes were in vain. "I have to save myself before I die," I encouraged myself and started crawling like a snake with the help of my hands. On my first try, the pool of blood wouldn't let me go. I slipped and fell back in it and later on, I began to feel a headache. "Help me! Help! Is someone around? Anyone, please help me," I wailed, desperately. I felt stranded, and sick at the same time. I shouted for 'help' vibrated in my head and it increased the pain I felt in my head. "Help! Mommy!!!" I was exhausted again but who would hear me in this extravagant house where people were partying, not to talk about my mother who was resting at home? I had given her some pills, and the last bread before I set out to look for food for myself. When I felt dizzy and was about to sleep, I gave attention to some approaching footsteps. I couldn't gather momentum to shout for help similarly as I had
Chapter 10—-------------"It's a silly name, I can't remember, but…hold on," I realized they weren't driving me home, "Oh please, where are you taking me to?" I asked, my voice declined this time too. "Stop the car?" Matt commanded, "Where do you live?""Not far from the party house," I answered calmly. "We can't go back, it's either you get off and start walking or you keep quiet and follow me to my house," he said, pushing his tablet into an opening at the back of the seat he fronted. I was already dozing off, I moved left and right, looking for a comfortable place to lay my heavy head. My eyes started to get wet as I tried to force them to stay active. Next day at Matt's Mansion —-----------The next day, I woke up in a large beautiful cold room all alone. I looked around and noticed it wasn't my room. 'I don't have a bed like this big cotton one. Am I in Matt's room?' I threw the blanket which covered me to make myself free, it was so heavy that I couldn't bear to carry it o
Chapter 11----------Patricia stayed at the training room while I followed Matt.“I think I need to get home before my mother…” I paused, I didn’t want to let out that my mother was sick.He turned and looked at me, wanting me to continue.Having not spoken, he just entered his room.I wandered around the luminous house like a ghost. I didn’t know what to do at the moment. I began to recall how stupidly I got to that house not knowing they owned it! I sat on the sofa for a while and went straight to have a glance at the flower garden in the center of the house. It attracted me anytime I passed by. During my first week, I wasted half of my hours admiring the red, yellow, and multiple colored flowers. Sometimes, Patricia would scold me for plugging them, so I looked around before I stubbornly and swiftly snatched a flower from its stem.I wasn’t lucky, it crushed before I brought it to my nose to testify to its good scent. I recognized an unusual flower in the middle of the beautiful
Chapter 12------------ Phone call continues--------“Kate, I don’t think you feel what I feel, it’s painful when you want your son to marry the right person, if she’s good, I will just let my son move on with her…” her voice swallowed, breaking into a seconds’ cry, “I love my son, but I don’t know what he thinks of me. Make sure you don’t tell Angela about this, she might get hurt, I will know how to deal with her.”“Yeah, she is the one.” I confirmed after taking a close look at the picture and hung the call. End of Call-----------I didn’t ask for the money in return, I knew I had done no job and didn’t deserve such an amount and secondly, I felt bad about what I had just done. Her cry and words melted my heart like fire on wax, and after all, I did it for Matt to be free from Angela, she's a Devil in disguise!. I lay on the bed reading Cassandra’s text messages and figured she was disappointed in me.I felt my stomach growl alongside other organs singing, “We want food.” I coul
