Chapter 3
Mother caused me painMatt's Pov:—------------"Why the sudden care and love, Mom? I know you. I know how you brought me up, the pain you caused me when I came to stay with you in that house and Now, after my father died, you intend to love me??" I sobered and hit my hand against the table causing other maids to look at me."That's the mistake I want to clean, Matt, I'm sorry. I didn't know what I was doing all these years. That's why I want you to marry Angela, she's a good woman and wouldn't do that to your children. Come on, Matt." She also cried, "Come on, finish up your breakfast, and let's talk outside." She continued and went out.I could hear her crying harder. I had never seen her this way. Not even when my father died. She brought me up the hard way. I remembered when her son went to school, I stayed in the house.I walked into my room and banged the door loudly."She never let me play with her son, my stepbrother. He also didn't want to play with me. I managed to live with them that way. It's crazy. The only thing she allowed me to do with my brother was just the martial art lessons. Whenever the master came around, he would sneak and give math and English story books. Growing up, I acquired the rest for myself!! FUCK!" I cried louder and pushed a flower pot on the ground. After that, I realized I was doing an apostrophe talking to my father's portrait on my wall."Yes, you caused it. You were fucken rich. You abandoned my mother and me and came back for me after my mother had died. You made me lose my mother, my lover, and life happiness." I let it all out, all! I couldn't hold it down. I went into the washroom and took my shower. I knew my mother was waiting for me outside but I didn't give a damn. The broken glasses weren't there when I returned."Kate!"I called out but no one replied. I guess she heard me pour out my anger and didn't want to sink into it. But I wasn't going to do that to her."Why was I treating her differently??" I questioned myself "Hell, no, I'll treat her like everyone else. Let them call me rude or arrogant, I care less."Sitting on my bed undressed, Angela came in."Can I help you with something?" She asked. Her eyes moved around and her breasts were brandishing in my sight. They were attractive but I didn't let her seduce me that way."Yeah, I need something." She rushed again as she had done earlier. She just touched me and began rubbing her hands around my face and chest. She pushed her head forward to land her lips on mine but I dropped back giving her the chance to lay on top of me.Amazingly, Kate's face began to play in my head. I shook my head and took a deep breath. "Kate looks really familia," I said to myself without opening my lips."You didn't ask what you can do for me, Angela. I need you to excuse me for a moment, I'll join you and my mother later." I concluded and pushed her to the other side of the bed."Really? Okay, my love. I'd be waiting for you." She kissed my cheek and headed outside."Oh God, what did I just do? I could have fucked her, it's been a while since I had sex: three days ago. But it's also somehow good I didn't fuck Angela."I stood up and dressed decently and went out to meet them."Hey, boy…""I'm not a boy, I'm a man. Please respect that." I threw a hard one at my mother. I wanted to make her angry so she left the house but to no avail."You're just 26, Matt," she detested and folded her arms, "You're just a boy, but if you wish to be called a man, I can't agree less.""Perfect!" I word-shot her with her own word bullet she had used earlier. She tilted her head left and right."We came here to give you a surprise welcome and invite you to the family's party. Since your father died, we've not met and they need to know you're his heir. But you brought in another issue," my mother, Cathrine, said politely."I didn't bring in any issue; you brought it in, then, you did." I still held them in my heart. I wasn't ready to let go until the cup was finally empty. She ran to hug me and cried. She was good at crying at this moment. Maybe, she picked a course on it."Your father lied to me, he told me how you and your mother hated to see me and how you wish to see me dead and gone, even when you never knew me."" Who wishes a good person dead? How could Dad positively in his right sense tell you this? Oh, no, I don't recall talking to him about you." I hugged her back. The anger had decreased a bit but I didn't take all she said into consideration. "Why did he say that?""I looked for you when you were much younger, let's say around 3 years. That was when he broke to me that he had a son. I told him to bring you in but he refused until you turned 10. Your mother didn't like me, but I wasn't happy to hear about her sudden demise." She explained further to cool me down."When is the party? And what is the dress code?"She stepped back and hugged Angela too."This is not a happy party, it's kinda mixed feelings. Women will have red, and men, black," she answered and threw herself in her car, "Goodbye, I need to leave. I have to fetch something from my office before noon. You guys should have fun. Matt, take good care of her, and Angela, I hope to see you at the party. The date is scheduled as usual," she sped off leaving Angela behind. That party was organized mostly whenever my father returned from his trips. He would go all around the world visiting his companies and return home every five years. How could he have time to show us some love?"It's you and I," Angela whispered.I wasn't ready for any games, or romance. I didn't want to kiss her, touch her, or talk about SEX. She seduced me with her eyes from all angles but I wasn't interested."Look, you are older than me and I don't think this relationship will survive. You're 8 years older than I am. Please forget about me, Angela. I love someone else! Yes, it's crazy but I love someone else…" I pinched her with my words but it looked like she wasn't ready to give up. "How about paying you off again, just don't step foot in my house again. How much do you want…?"Before I could end, I had caught her flying hand in the air."Let go of me," she chuckled.I threw her hand behind her and turned back to go to my room without saying a word. She tried to slap me!?"Matt! I'm sorry. Those words hurt, I didn't mean to slap you, I was just scaring you, please," she pleaded but I didn't stop."Do me a favor, Matt," I turned to hear the favor she needed, "drop me off at my house, please…"Finally, she requested to leave my house."I'll let my driver do just that…" I offered"No, I want you to do it yourself. Just this little thing, Matt. I've helped you before, remember?""Fine, fine," I accepted and drove her out.She played music and did whatever she wanted but I never uttered a word till I dropped off."I don't want to see you around!" I commanded and sped off. I didn't wait for her to say anything. That breakfast tasted different and something not new. It's been a while since I tasted that and they say Angela prepared it?"Thank you, Sir," Kate appreciated as someone dropped her in front of my house. She ran inside and didn't have time to watch back to see me."I think he's her boyfriend. Is that why she gave me no answer when I asked? This is intriguing?" I contemplated with myself in my car. I tried to see the man who drove that expensive car but he sped off before I could stretch my neck. I just wrote the car plate's number down. "For the first time, I felt jealous!" I confirmed.Chapter 4-Fired again?Kate's POV:—--------------"I'm here. I guess everything is alright?" Headmaid asked. I banged into her room and searched for my bag."My bag, I have her drugs are in there. I need to return them to the hospital as soon as possible. The doctors want to see them," I explained as much as I could. "Here!" She stretched her hand and handed it to me, "Take this, my dear, you might need some money as well."'Wow, I didn't expect that.' I thought. "Just keep it, you can pay it back when you receive your salary. I have enough on me now," she opened my palm and tabbed the money in it. "Now, run, don't forget to use the exit I showed you.""Where's master? Has he looked for me?" I curiously asked to secure my job."No! Nope! Not at all. He has gone out with his visitor, you know what, just go. I got you covered." She pushed me out. I wished I met the same good samaritan who had dropped me off earlier. I just can't run; I wish I could. I tried my best to jog but to no
Chapter 5MATT'S POV:—---------I didn't want to repeat my words. Those tears boiled my blood and I was getting even angrier. "Do you need to pick something before you get out!?" I inquired of her as she stood trembling. "You know the rules and decided to break them on your first day with me. Do you think that's perfectly splendid, silly? You are not the first person to have consented to this glory, it's not not nice working with you." I concluded with good remarks and rhetorical questions. "I…am…so sorry, I can't go back alone. It's late." She pleaded as her tears wouldn't stop streaming down her poor face. I smirked and banged the door as loudly as I could, leaving her outside to the mercies of the weather. I thought she was sorry for something better, but she was rather pleading because it was late and can't go alone. 'That is not my business.'"And for you, employ better maids next time and desist from letting them face my wrath!" I warned Patricia, the Head maid, and walked s
Chapter 6Is that you, Kate?"Angela, I should be asking you that dumb question!" I exclaimed and pushed her back. Her red lipstick had been painted all over my face and shirt. It seems she was turned and was ready to let me f*ck her for free but nope, no sex with Angela. I had already promised myself not to do that."Hey, you know it won't work. I've tried harder but I'm sorry, I can't love you. Please let go of me before I lose my demonic temper on you." I advised her gently. The drink had taken effect on me and I was falling for it but not Angela. "Hey, Kate, listen... No Angels, don't come close to me. Pick that bottle for me, it will do me more good than you do. It holds interesting stories, just walk out with yours." I felt a bit tipsy, words just found their way out as soon as they came to mind. "Help yourself with it, or, get your filthy Kate to get it for you." She spewed, dressed up, and walked out as I wished. Angela was so cold-hearted. She loses her temper so easily and I
Chapter 7Reds and Blacks"Look, I'm…I…just let me go home, please. I promise not to come here again," she pleaded. The polythene bag containing the food swung behind her as she crossed one hand against the other at her back. "Look, I need you to do me a favor," I requested in return to let her go free. "What should I do for you, please?""Good! Wait and see," I promised and made a call."Hello, Antonio, track me."Within a few seconds, he appeared like a ghost. "Antonio, take her to the boutique, get her a nice red dress, take her home to get clean, and let her dress up. I need this to be done in twenty minutes," I commanded and wished noticing the time wasn't enough! Her blonde hair was very attractive and I think she didn't need to waste much time on it. Antonio adjusted his hat, got his tall body to the entrance, and signaled her to follow him but she didn't move an inch. "Do you want someone to see you this way? I guess I call someone else," she started walking towards us.
Chapter 8 Red turns bloodyKATE'S POV:—---------Music and noises went off as if the DJ had control of the people at the party too.He tuned down both his blasters and the humans' voices. I felt uneasy and felt like some crazy woman wrapped in thirteen blankets. I held up my heavy long gown so that it wouldn't be mopping spilled liquors. Maybe, I would need to return it after this party, it's too expensive for me to keep. I looked around all intersections of the gigantic hall, but Matt was nowhere to be found. A few moments later, the sound systems booted again and people began to thaw as if they were frozen earlier. All I could see were reds and blacks so finding Matt was a problem!"So as I said…" Matt's voice reverberated. I lifted my head to see him on the stage and waved at him. Matt of all people waved back excitedly, took a deep breath, and continued his speech while I just stood right to listen. "Maid, maid, maid!," Cathrine called repeatedly walking toward me, "You look
Chapter 9—-----------Laying there helplessly, I wished that a savior would pass by but all hope and wishes were in vain. "I have to save myself before I die," I encouraged myself and started crawling like a snake with the help of my hands. On my first try, the pool of blood wouldn't let me go. I slipped and fell back in it and later on, I began to feel a headache. "Help me! Help! Is someone around? Anyone, please help me," I wailed, desperately. I felt stranded, and sick at the same time. I shouted for 'help' vibrated in my head and it increased the pain I felt in my head. "Help! Mommy!!!" I was exhausted again but who would hear me in this extravagant house where people were partying, not to talk about my mother who was resting at home? I had given her some pills, and the last bread before I set out to look for food for myself. When I felt dizzy and was about to sleep, I gave attention to some approaching footsteps. I couldn't gather momentum to shout for help similarly as I had
Chapter 10—-------------"It's a silly name, I can't remember, but…hold on," I realized they weren't driving me home, "Oh please, where are you taking me to?" I asked, my voice declined this time too. "Stop the car?" Matt commanded, "Where do you live?""Not far from the party house," I answered calmly. "We can't go back, it's either you get off and start walking or you keep quiet and follow me to my house," he said, pushing his tablet into an opening at the back of the seat he fronted. I was already dozing off, I moved left and right, looking for a comfortable place to lay my heavy head. My eyes started to get wet as I tried to force them to stay active. Next day at Matt's Mansion —-----------The next day, I woke up in a large beautiful cold room all alone. I looked around and noticed it wasn't my room. 'I don't have a bed like this big cotton one. Am I in Matt's room?' I threw the blanket which covered me to make myself free, it was so heavy that I couldn't bear to carry it o
Chapter 11----------Patricia stayed at the training room while I followed Matt.“I think I need to get home before my mother…” I paused, I didn’t want to let out that my mother was sick.He turned and looked at me, wanting me to continue.Having not spoken, he just entered his room.I wandered around the luminous house like a ghost. I didn’t know what to do at the moment. I began to recall how stupidly I got to that house not knowing they owned it! I sat on the sofa for a while and went straight to have a glance at the flower garden in the center of the house. It attracted me anytime I passed by. During my first week, I wasted half of my hours admiring the red, yellow, and multiple colored flowers. Sometimes, Patricia would scold me for plugging them, so I looked around before I stubbornly and swiftly snatched a flower from its stem.I wasn’t lucky, it crushed before I brought it to my nose to testify to its good scent. I recognized an unusual flower in the middle of the beautiful
