Chapter 42

MATT’S POV

Right after I noticed Kate was gone, I went to my mother’s house. Luckily, she had nowhere to go so she was home.

“Stay out of my way!!” I yelled. I was extremely vexed and filled with hatred. The security figuring that out prevented me from entering the house, but it was a big mistake for them to try that as I punched one on his nose. Blood oozed from his nose as the others fell back pointing their guns at me.

“If you move another step, I’ll shoot!” one of them warned.

“Do you know me?” I asked, attacking him to collect his weapon while the others stood to watch. I shot in the air to waste his bullets, and to show them I was fucking serious and wasn’t ready to play games.

My mother came to stand at the top of her building and yelled “Let him in,” after realizing I was eager to meet her.

“What makes you so angry, Matt?” she asked, holding her glass of drink. Her face was painted as always.

“What do you know about Kate’s attack!?” I angrily questioned.
