Chapter Twenty-Four

"Have you seen the news, Cass?" Scar's voice sounded anxious and shaky.

"No, I haven't. What's happening?" Cass replied, her heart starting to race.

Scar's heart skipped a beat before delivering the heartbreaking news, but she would rather her sister hear it from her. "Someone has started a hate account targeting you on social media. They're spreading lies about you failing Mrs. Anderson, leeching off Marcus, saying you are a witch who is using him for money because you failed at life, and even attacking your personal life."

Scar hesitated "The things they're saying are cruel and untrue, Cass. I saw reporters lurking around our house this morning, so I had to leave in a rush and hide at a friend's dorm at the university."

Cass felt her stomach drop as the weight of the situation sank in. She couldn't believe someone would stoop so low to tarnish her reputation and spread malicious lies about her. Her mind raced with questions about who could be behind this and why they were target
