Chapter Twenty-Three

As Cass stepped into Marcus's house, she was again taken aback by how extravagant the place was.

"Welcome sir," The butler said "The guestroom is set and the staff are waiting in the living room on the second floor as directed"

"Thank you Russel" Marcus said handing his jacket to him

"Let's go, Cass, time for a formal introduction" Marcus said dragging her before she could object

"Marcus, I don't think this is necessary" Cass said digging her heels in

"Would you like to be carried instead?" Marcus said attempting to pick her up bridal style

Cass shrieked and ran up the stairs herself to Marcus laughing

Marcus directs her to the living room and Cass sees a massive picture of his mother

"Wow!!! she is beautiful. You might look like your dad but you have her eyes and her beautiful smile" Cass exclaimed.

Marcus's face flushed and he tried to regain his composure

"Good Evening everyone. This is Cass, my girlfriend and fiance-to-be." Marcus said to the astonished look on their face
