Chapter 6

“Amira? What a nice name! Very charming to hear in my ears, haha! It's like a melody of an angel.”

Daniel smiled as he lay on his soft bed. He was now staring at the ceiling of his spacious room, constantly smiling as he talked to himself.

“But why is that woman so high blood to me? It seems as if it will be hard to pursue her to come with me, haha.”

At eight in the morning, he was just waiting for his butler to arrive. He had just finished eating and after a few seconds, he heard three knocks from the door.

“Young Master, it's already time!”

Daniel smiled and got up from his bed. As he opened the door, the butler opened up to him. Wearing a uniform, a black tuxedo with a gray lining with a touch of gold. So elegant!

He handed him a small piece of paper. He took and examined it. The color is white, the border is red. The logo of the pack he is holding can be seen on the far side. The red moon with lightning that makes it more thrilling.

“Is there another general meeting?” Daniel asked. “What did Marcus think, and there's more this time?”

The general meeting of the Alphas was important in Madrigal City. Madrigal City is one of the five Cities that comprise the Land of the werewolf, or better known as Howling Land. And each city, it consists of five regions. As of today, Daniel currently managed the region two.

“You better find Abara, Young Master,” Butler said. “We still have a few hours to go.”

Daniel nodded at what the butler said. “Please, just get my things ready, old man. I'll just go to Abara, take care of the car we're going to use first. I'm sure he's just reading by now.”

“How about the company?”

“Mama will take care of that, they're in the center now.”

“Abara is with you now, who will look at the whole region?”

“The elders are there. When there are meetings like this, they often take this opportunity. But make sure you report to me later, old man. You know, the elders doesn't have some brains. Of all the old people I know, you're the only one who have a brain, haha. “

The butler nodded. He's now ready to work because of the praise he has received. Daniel went to the other mansion, the mansion here Abara lives. While his butler, Seth, took care of the vehicle to be used.

As Daniel walked along, some were inevitably surprised. There are those who bow down immediately and retreat.

He rarely gets out, that's true. So, they are very shocked because most people thought that he is strict, and you will disappear from the world with just a flick of the finger. He's so fast, he's so agile. He's the fastest alpha, after all.

As he walked, he stopped when he saw Abara reading while walking from where he stands. Daniel was just coming out of the gate of the mansion, but he saw Abara in the distance. The beta of the Red Moon Pack, the beta known for sharp hearing, Abara.

“I thought I'm going to walk longer,” Daniel said when Abara approached him. “We're supposed to have a meeting. Did you receive a letter from Marcus?”

Abara closed the book he was holding. He took the letter from his pocket and showed it to him.

“That's what I saw earlier in my window,” Abara replied. “Maybe the annual ranking will be discussed?”

Daniel nodded and turned away. He started walking back to the mansion and Abara followed.

“Annual ranking? I hope not,” Daniel replied. “I have to find a Luna first. I even said a word to the elders. So, I think I will prioritize that one.”

“It's three months before the annual ranking start,” Abara replied. “Maybe we'll talk about strategy. Some alphas with you have dropped a bit. In region three and four, they dropped one spot. In region five, they went to the last.”

Daniel just nodded. “That's true, Marcus and I were the only two in Madrigal City who stayed at first, right?”

“Right,” Abara replied. “He is the leader of the strongest. You are in the category of the fastest and agile. While in brain and strategy, our third region came in fourth place. As for treatment and medicine, the fourth region came in third. And when it comes to defense, Madrigal City is the last. “

“Do you have a list? Perhaps Marcus will ask us later,” Daniel said. “It's good that we're ready.”

Marcus is the leader of the alphas in Madrigal City. Each city has an alpha leader. And they are the ones who lead and conduct the annual ranking. It is done to show who should be appointed in the five aspects, who should be respected and got an opportunity to develop their region. And in terms of strength and speed, region 1 and region 2 of Madrigal City are in the lead.

They saw Seth standing in the red car. When they got closer to Seth, Seth reminded Daniel again.

“Be careful on the journey, young master.”

“By the way, old man,” Daniel said, before entering the car. “Maybe I won't be home for a month. I'll just send Abara after our meeting. I have to find a Luna first. Don't worry. I'll ask Marcus to help me,” he lied.

“I'll take care of it, Young master,” Seth replied and bowed. “Just be careful, Young master.”

On the function of the vehicle, when they are about to go, Abara asked.

“The elders are still pressuring you?” he asked, laughing.

“That's why I'll prioritize searching for my Luna,” Daniel replied as he looked down the road.

“You should! You need to do that, Daniel.”

“What should I just do?”

“Of course, if you can't find a Luna, I'll definitely occupy your spot,” Abara replied. “I feel it would be better not to get married, Daniel. It's not in my vocabulary yet.”

Daniel laughed out loud. “There, that's right! You take care of the region while I'm not there. I'll only be gone for a month, so suits yourself.”

“Is there anything I can do?” Abara laughed.

They go through establishments. The towering buildings and several highways and crowded areas. After a few hours of driving, they stopped in the center of Madrigal City. Center that many would call region 1. The region where Marcus leads. The region that can be visited by those living in regions 2 to 5. This region is open for all citizens of Madrigal City.

Abara's suspicion was justified. After they got out of the car, they were immediately met by a load bang of a gun, that they immediately avoided.

“You're rusting, Marcus!” Daniel shouted on the second floor, where a man with a beard was standing.

Marcus is a 28 years old hunk man with a muscular body and strong muscles. His cold stares matched his cold personality.

“Hurry and go up here, morons.”

As they go, they saw the four alphas and its betas.

“Fastest in Howling land but late for the meeting?” Barron's teasing, alpha of the third region.

“Shut up there,

blurred eyes,” Daniel replied, making some alpha laugh.

Sitting in the long table were three alphas; Barron, Darren, and Herald. As Marcus stood and shook his head as he watched them. The betas, on the other hand, sit in an elongated chair in the back.

What's in Abara’s mind were true. The meeting is all about the annual ranking. They talked about the trainings to be done, they even included the ones that should be given attention.

There they had lunch, it also took them the afternoon before deciding to go home. But Daniel left to talk and ask Marcus a favor. The favor that Marcus will definitely not refuse.

“I already know your purpose, why you're here, Daniel,” Marcus told him. He smoked a cigarette and exhaled the smoke. “Just make sure no one knows you're a werewolf. It's hard, and huntresses might catch you on the borderline.”

“W -wait,” Daniel said, confused. “How did you know that was my purpose, why I'm here to ask you? I mean, what purpose are you talking about?”

Marcus grinned and smoked again.

“You plan to go to the other border, don't you?” he asked. “To find a Luna that you will introduce to the elders?”

“H -how did you find out?”

“You forgot that you have a beta that has a sharp hearing?”

Daniel slowly turned to Abara. Abara looked down and averted his eyes.

“Just a month, Marcus,” Daniel said. “Promise, after a month I'll be right back. I'm going to train hard after this.”

“Can we do nothing else?” Marcus asked laughingly. “I'll just tell the elders of region two that you're on vacation and looking for Luna. Just make sure no one knows you're on the other border.”

Daniel smiled at what he heard. He didn't expect Marcus to agree right away. Aside from the fact that they were both childhood friend, Marcus knew that what could be in Daniel's mind could not stop him from doing it. When they returned to region two, the smile on Daniel's face remains, not completely erased.

When they reached the river, on the forest side where Daniel's mansion was near, Abara immediately spoke.

“You need to leave now, Daniel,” Abara said. “Nobody's around.”

Daniel grabbed a bag in the back of the car. “You take care of the region, Abara.”

Abara tapped Daniel on the shoulder. “Just be careful.”

The bag that he took contained money. Money he will use on the other border.

As he exited the car, the touch of cold air on his skin was the signal to say goodbye to the beta.

“I'm going first, Abara.” He waved at him and smiled. “Keep a close eye on my room! I don't want anyone to come in!”

Daniel didn't change to his wolf form. He did not know where this forest would take him, so he decided not to change because his clothes would be ruined.

His journey also took several hours. Dark, full of insects and howl of some animals are audible. He also did not forget that he could meet some huntress. Huntress calls those who chase werewolves or humans who disobey the law of two worlds, werewolves or human planning to cross the borders.

And because he was an alpha, he just crossed quickly with no difficulty. As he came out of the forest, a long road still met him. But it was close to the houses, so he immediately walked to the store where Amira works.

He didn't know to himself, but a smile appeared on his lips when he remembered Amira's face. But that smile faded when he found out that the store is closed.

He looked around. He only saw lights on the poles and a few shops open.

“Amira closed the shop earlier than I thought,” he whispered to himself. "It's already 11:30?"

But when he looked closely at the dark alley, he saw a woman very familiar to him, that is her future Luna, Amira.

“Looks like she's going home,” he whispered. “I think it's not bad to follow her, isn't?”

On the dark alley, he followed Amira. He even took a taxi just to get on the movement of the bus she was riding in.

After a few minutes of driving, after Daniel paid the driver, they stopped at a corner. On the corner where the apartment where Amira is staying.

When he followed it, he saw Amira enter a gate. Daniel immediately followed, but a fat woman, Ma'am Lora, also stopped to appear before him.

“Oh, young man. Where are you going?” Ma'am Lora asked. “It's late. Why are you still here? There's a curfew here at twelve.”

Daniel scratched his head. “I don't have a place to stay.” his honest replied, definitely because of his plan.

In Lora's mind, one of her tenants had just left. It was undoubtedly her chance to recover her income.

“Do you have money on you?” Lora asked immediately. “There's still room for my apartment.”

Lora pointed to the gate that Amira had entered. Daniel immediately nodded because of that.

“Of course,” Daniel replied. “I'm also really searching for a place to stay.”

Opportunity seems to favor Daniel. With Lora's mouth reopening, Daniel heard good news.

“Come inside. I'll take you to your place …”
