Andre's POV

The phone rang loudly as I walked over to pick it up. "Hello?"

A soft greeting came in. It was Catalina. I looked outside to find the night sky darkened with little illumination from the stars. The crickets crooked in the fields as the rodents ran freely. A particular rodent caught my eye as it tried crawling through my window into my room. Quickly, I locked it as my ears tune in to hear her voice which suddenly turned quieter.

"I wanted to ask something of you if that's okay?" Her voice was meek like my response could break her and have her in tears.

"What's wrong?" I replied with a question.

"I'm currently at your door," she chuckled before continuing. "Could you come to get the door? I'm freezing, it's really cold." Her teeth rattled against each other, the sound reaching me through the phone.
