Catalina's POV

"How was your talk with Andres?" I nearly jumped out of my skin. Nana stood by the stairs with a cleaning brush in her hand. She was humming a tune as she cleaned the railings.

I sighed, walking closer to her as my hands stayed on my hips. "Not good. He turned me down."

"Well, you can't blame him." She shrugged, returning to her cleaning.

"What do you mean? You wouldn't trust me if I offered you a hand?" Shock was written on my face as Nana laughed.

"I would because I know you and I trust you but he doesn't and you haven't done anything to make him think otherwise." She was right but that didn't make it hurt any less.

Right there, Mariana walked in with distress written all over her face. The color drained off her and she just looked worried. Walking right passed me, she aimed for the stairs. Her usual made-up face was swollen with dried tears all over. Her brunette hair which was perfectly straightened earlier stuck out in all directions.

"What's wrong Mariana?" Nana
