Chapter 56: The Faceless Portrait

Riona POV

I was woken up by noises on the first floor the next day. I stretched my hands welcoming the rays of the sun that were peeping through the window. I blinked my eyes till they got used to the morning light. As I dragged myself up, I glanced at the digital clock on the side table.

"Oh! Shoot!" I hastily got off the bed my duvet was tangled to my feet sending me a loud thud of falling, my face kissed the wooden floor. "Hey, floor! You're lucky, you're my first kiss in the morning!" I mumbled as I got up and immediately ran to the bathroom.

It was ten in the morning. Nobody had ever knocked on my door to wake me up. This was my first time slumbering for too long. Hamil and I left the forest at midnight but that didn't mean I had to sleep like a log.

As I was done with my morning routine, I ambled downstairs only to see King Victor, Baron, and Hamil. Hamil was even stunned to see me striding in haste.

"Sorry, I slept a lot. But where are you guys going?
